got this as my first bike and honestly I couldn't be happier, it's really easy to get used to and it's really comfortable, I would definitely recommend this to others honestly 👍
my first bike was a 50cc before I got this, I thought it was heavy but the dealer put me on a 400kg bike and I no longer find this bike heavy. It's all just getting used to the bike@@Smoove233
+TwistedTorque i always feel like the suspension is crap and i dont feel confident leaning on it, but that crossplane inline 3 makes it worth it! i want one!
I don't understand all the hate on these videos from Chase, I think him just riding and giving his first views and feelings are exactly what I want from a "First Ride" I don't want selling points or what's in the spec, I wanna see what it feels like to a daily rider.
i wish you would have shown highway power in a lower gear than 6th. i am not sure how strong a pull you can expect from a 800cc I4 in 6th at 60-70mph? i would not expect much myself. it would have been nice to see it pull from the same speed in 3rd gear, or even 4th. but ideally 3rd. it does make 108hp, after all. redline is at 12,000rpm but it didn't seem you took it that high at any time. nice vid, though. i enjoy all your reviews :)
This bike is a beast on the highway. He wont even hit 120 mph, but he'll bitch on the lack of power. Gimme a break. It a powerful 800cc. A great buy for ALL types of riders.
Indeed thought so too. Also for cruising on the highway you dont want your highest gear to be too sensitive/twitchy do you? Thinking of getting a windshield though since id commute at least 4 hours a week at 120 km/h
Man it really is like you have no idea what you are talking about with these bikes or reviews in general. These have been a bike since like 2006.... as the Z750
Michael Ortiz yes it is.. they even got 35kW versions... it's a heavy bike tho, you don't feel it in them curves through! I got 0 complaints about it.. just maybe one.. I don't got the balls to try wheeling it and I have too push the rear break very hard tho!
i bought this bike. it is a great bike. it hauls ass. you hit 4k and it wants to just go. it is a fun hoolagan bike. you can twist the throttle in 4th gear doing 35 or so and the numbers climb rapidly. the thing i love about this bike is if you lean forward and peg the throttle in 2nd you are going to instantly smile you just fly. very fast bike. very nice riding one up. has plenty of power for your pleasure and im 6'2 and 300 lbs. i prefer honda but they have nothing like this that is not a sport bike. the z800 is sweet.
Great video sir! So you know the Z800 has been out longer than the FZ09, 2015 I believe was the first year it came to the US. It has been primarily in the European market.
Hey chase, if you'd except my criticism I'd like to give you feedback. I always look forward to #c2wfr. They are starting to become very boring though. I think you should learn about the motorcycle and hit key selling points. I was excited to learn about this bike but gained nothing from this video. please improve the quality. Thank you.
+Louis Menendez (JaxYamaRican) Thanks for the feedback Louis. I do research on all bikes before I go jump on them. I will admit I was really excited about the "other" bike I went to ride that day and might have not read as much into this one as I should have. I'll do my best to add more selling points into the First Rides moving forward.
Hey chase, 6th gear on z800 is over drive gear for better mpg, if you want to pass cars on freeway, you need to downshift to 5th to get that power punch.
+BTheFisch it's been in the us too for a while. they have been taking the z800 off and on the market every now and then depending on the demand. the z1000 have been around for a long time though.
Dangerous amount of Power Really Low . . . .Thats what I was hoping to hear. I'm sold , This beast is coming my way , I'll add a windscreen , Performance Filter , Lithium Battery (If it doesnt cmoe with one) Heated Grips & it'll be ready for Touring
+DAProfanity All you said was "Kawasaki H2?" and you want him to see it. There's nothing to see besides a fragment of what you really want to say. "He should do a First Ride on the Kawi H2". Just say that. Then it would've made sense.
+EminentLine Posting a short comment like I initially did on a video that Chase does a motorcycle review is self explanatory. I'm sure he's smart enough to make the connection. You're 100% correct though, I would love to see him do a first ride on the H2 :) At the end of the day he gets comments requesting to review so many bikes, it's his choice on what he wants to do.
You seem to think that the Z800 is Kawasaki jumping on the FZ-07/09 train... but actually the Z800 has been out since 2013 only being released in the US recently. It is just an improved version of the Z750 they had. The 750 was introduced in 2004. So they have been on this for a while. A bit of research before the rides would be advisable. Getting to know the history, as well as, how the more feature rich bikes function. (Remember the confusion with the RC8?) Not being rude, just trying to help improve the first ride series.
i know this is old, but he was mostly meaning for the US, till the fz 09 came along we didn't get alot of the cool naked bikes that other countries got sadlh
Ah I primarily say that because the Z800 was the follow up to their own Z750 which was also a a inline 4 that was out since 2004, They may have tweaked it for FZ09 competition ;)
Y'know, I can't quite hit the like button on this one. It's not your delivery, it's not your style, both of which are very good, IMHO. However, suggesting this bike is an "answer" to Yamaha's FZ-09 is a bit of a stretch. If you look at the lineage, the Z800, which came out in 2014 BTW, was a development of the Z750; which dates back a decade earlier, 2004. So, my issue is : "Why, after 12 years of development, hasn't Kawasaki offered a fully faired and luggage kitted touring version of this excellent mid-range displacement package?" Hmmmmm? ~ S ~
My son has this bike and it is really nice. Sits much more upright than my Streetfighter but is very comfortable. The torque is pretty good and nice that it has ABS standard. He bought it brand new out the door for $7000 so the price was great. Definitely needs a new pipe.
Hey Chase, you compared this bike to the FZ09 throughout the video but never mentioned how it compared to the GSX-S750. I have ridden the FZ09 and the GSX-S750 and I am leaning towards buying the Suzuki. Should I add the Z800 to the mix?
+Mike Vaillancourt Yea, that's one of the downfalls that I'm trying to get better at. It's hard to keep up with every bike in a category when you ride so many of them. I'll keep getting better moving forward. Honestly Mike, I would drop the GSX-S750 off your radar and add the GSXS-1000. I wasn't really happy with the 750 version. Then again that's my personal opinion. I actually liked the Z800 more than either of the GSXS models. This one is definitely something you need to add into your consideration.
kawasaki is very reliable but it needs someone who understands kawasaki because it has its own technology, i advice you tu get other bike in case you are thinking to get this one, its not very exciting
the first kz1000 (z1000 for short) came out in 1977. the revamped modern version came out in 2003... Who copied who here? I would do a little more research before saying anything.
Please do a first ride of a Triumph Street Triple if you can get your hands on one! I'm thinking about getting that bike for a second or third bike. Definitely want to add a Triumph Street Triple and a Kawasaki H2 to the bike collection. Just gotta wait for finances to take off a little bit. If i get the H2, I want to be able to get it down to you to do a first ride on.
the z800r is a direct competitor for the fz 09 & fz07 and though it is, as i understand, new to the US, it's been around in Europe since 2013 and replaced the z750r. i got to ride it a few weeks ago, very very good package for a competitive price/ as you said chaseontwowheels - well done Kawasaki !
there is a deal locally for a 2016 model $5499 25 miles only. BUT it was dropped. no broken fairings but a couple scrapes and nicks here and there.....hmmmmm.
I ended up buying an 06 636. CHEEEEEA!!!! It only had 4106 miles and asking $4500. owner was pretty firm on price but let her go for $4400. Yes, I couldve spent an extra grand more for that z800 but wasn't really in the budget and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Only thing that SUCKS was the timing. 2 weeks after I bought the bike.....found out I'm getting laid off. Fuck me!!! Beem with the company 10 years. I still have her and my 98 katana and my s2000 lol But I probably wont have 1 or 2 of those much longer. I have some vids of walk arounds of my toys. check them out if you guys want :-)
lxcast i know you're referring to steve but the one i found was used and dropped....very low miles at 25 but doubt its still around. Im glad i bought the 06 636 though...shes my baby.
I have a 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 and it has the exact same seating position. It is the best bike I've ever ridden. Super comfortable and more than enough power to satisfy most. BTW that throttle is easily adjustable, had to do it to mine because it had a lot of freeplay.
+MagicPoptartz14 No they aren't a piece of shit. This guys just a bit of a 600cc wanker. go check out riding with toms video on it, good stuff from what i saw
Mate ive had an rs 125, and now sv650 and r6. An rs125 will dust a 4 stroke yamah 125. Yzf is all made out of plastic and has that cheap feel compared to aprilia,,smaller tyres and its slow..so dont go on talking about a shitty yzf telling me its good..
16:45 so much frickin bs! I enjoy the highway on my cbr125r come on ! A 800 is a beast in every single gear , and if you didn't know yet performance is not testet in 6th gear which is an overdrive !
+chaseontwowheels I guess it is for the better, now we can get a better view of the bike without the helmet blocking a portion of it. I personally think I'd like it angled a bit more down, so I can see more of the bike :)
Would like to see you hit up some old models whenever MMS has them for sale. Like the CBR F4i they have up now. Whenever there's an iconic used bike they get in, like a Blackbird, TL1000, or something like that, would be cool to see you ride those. A lot of us aren't in the market for a brand new bike and a ride review on those older bikes that still kick ass would be awesome. Would like to see your take on some affordable used models. Btw, my mom likes your videos because of your laugh I think. ;)
Watched a lot of your reviews and you mention a lot about engine brakin,,,you don't want to good engine breaking ,,,on the older v Twins the back wheel would slightly lock on wet rds ,,dangerous on a damp rd if you aren't very experienced,,,that's what your brakes are for or slipper clutch cheers Shane uk
hey chase i love your vids ... and i even made some suggestions to improve your vids with adding specs on screen when you do your sexci showcase vids at the beginning ... but can i suggest something else that i would love to see? ... can you get a friend in a van drive in front of you or behind to get video clips of you riding while you're doing your reviews .... cause it would be awesome to see what a rider looks like on the bike ...
+Sieyon Lee Tung I would love that. And afterwards I'll hire a follow helicopter to get some aerial shots! Lol, I joke. Honestly Sieyon I would love to do some stuff like that, but with the current funds that I have at my disposal I'm not able to get a team together to help out with these first rides. Maybe one day I'll be able to, but as a one man band it's pretty tough. I do appreciate the thought though.
Great looking bike. Especially for new and at it's price. But why do they put that ugly tail on it for the rear signals? Seriously don't companies know it's like the first thing to go once you've bought it.
Okay, so I was going to get the Z650 for $7,400 with ABS from my local dealer as my first bike, but they are selling a 2016 Z800 for $7k. So literally a better bike for $400 cheaper. Should I go for it or stick with the Z650 as my first?
Chase, i love your reviews but i really to have to say that you did not give the 2016 Z800 enough justification. This motorcycle is capable of much much more..
i know i know... im just another of annoying subscribers, but since you are the best reviewer i know, i would love if you would review some less sporty bikes... like honda cbf or yamaha ybr .... i would really like that.... btw hello from serbia! love ur vids
My first bike was a 50cc aprilia sx50, rode that one for 3 years and when I got the z800 (A2 restricted) I was suuuuper scared and super slow on the throttle for my entire time riding it this season, but man the bike is great, just having a hard time slow turning it and making U-turns
Well Chase, I'm following you since a bit of time now, but actually Kawasaki is not getting in the "FZ07 FZ09 style of game"... Just for the simple reason that the Z750 (older sister), Z800 and Z1000 have been released YEAAAAAARS before the FZ09. The Z was competing against the others INLINE 4 CYLINDERS NAKED (principaly famous in Europe I think) : Hornet, CB, Bandit, GSR, FZ6, etc... ;)
+QuickShifter Hey I just put up a new video on my channel a day or so ago and im wondering if you go check that or my other videos out and tell me what you think and what I could do differently to make them better. And if you like it please subscribe thanks!
I picked this bike over a number of naked bikes. Im 6ft4 and 266 pounds. This bike will thrash. It's gobbs better than the fz09 when it comes to ride ability and suspension. Fz09 is a little more for hooligan stuff. But It litterally bottomes out almost constantly. I can wheelie my z in 4th. It will hit every bit of 155 consistently with me on it.. yes it looses some playfulness in the high gears but doesn't every bike? Sometimes you sound like a novice chase.
Giving too much gas in a corner in a powerful bike is,however painful, is a lesson you will definitely NOT forget! So, wear protection.... Kawasaki Zs are bikes that use mechanics and engineering to do what other manufacturers do with electronics. So, you have to admire how there are very little intrusive electronics (I have an R1M, and those electronics tend to intrude sometimes) so if you like "old school bikes", these are an amazing choise (z800, z1000) over the FZ/MT bikes. Also, it is a nice looking bike!. Maybe not as Nutty as an MT-09, but can still be a blast on technical riding.
Good day Chase, can you review suzuki 2016 bandit 650, I'm buying my second bike on this level 650cc, I've watch all your 650cc review except for the bandit, i appreciate if you can, I'm from the Philippines.
The z800 is from 2013, just in America they start to sell now. Before z800 whas a older model z750, from 2004. Super popular bikes. I love my z800. You know i was driving with my frend back and putt in 6 gear on 1000rpms and he can going, need 2 or 3 seconds to start raising speed slowly. Best bike and best look in class.
This is a great bike, i owned one in the past, it has to be clear though, this is not a new bike or an actual answer to the mt/fz 07 and 09, more the other way around since the z800 has been around since 2013 (the one i had) and it is 100% based on the Z750(r) wich dates back to 2007-2012 and even the 2004-2006 version of wich that is based. the Z750 07-12 (no R), does work okay as a first bike, its less punchy and torque-ish then the 800 is. i own a z1000sx (ninja 1000) now, wich is like the z1000 naked another step up to this as the 800 is to the 750 :)
How does this compare to Yamaha FZ-09? I had a long and hard struggle between the Z800 and the FZ-09. I ended up ordering an FZ-09 because the weight of the Z800 kinda held me back. FZ-09 has so much low range torque combined with really light weight. I'd imagine the Z800 is nowhere near as agile and punchy as the FZ-09. But I think it might be a better highway cruiser because it is an inline four and weighs more.
Yeah this bike isn't a response to the FZ-09 at all, if anything it would be more of the opposite. Kawi started making the Z750, which is the old version of the Z800, in 2004 outside the country. FZ-07 came about 9 years after the Z750.
'HIGH TECH DIGITAL DASH'. Ya mean the cost savings lame Ipad wannabe that is 20 year old technology? That high tech dash? Have you looked at any decent instrument clusters? Ever?
You dont do 60 mph on 6th gear on an inline 4, that just doesn't make sense. 6th gear is of course going to be the worst pull gear because you'll have no more engine to work with. My ninja 300 can still pull in 5th gear as well or better than in 3rd gear because I have another gear to go and more power. If you want good pull, from ANY BIKE, do it in 4th or 5th gear on the highway and feel the difference, almost any bike will have amazing pull, even that z800 that you didn't ride right.
I got this bike for a steal this past saturday. Its a 2016 with 1641 miles and a buttload of money was dumped into it by previous owner. Fender delete full exhaust system shorty levers frame sliders ect. All this sitting pretty in a dealers showroom looking brand spanking new. They were selling it for only 6k. 🤣🤣 i was pleasantly surprised at how smooth this bike delivers power and i couldnt be happier. glad i got this instead of another cbr. I love honda but its time to branch out.
Why can't you always have this nice chin mount middle view :( It's SOOOOO Much Better than that stupid side view. Makes me feel like i'm riding bitch :/ I hope you catch it on a branch and never want to use it again :)Lol Chin Mounts = Subscriptions :D
You should do some review of older bikes, i saw your video for the sv650 but maybe do a older fuel injected one(03-09)? And maybe a vfr800? Im looking for a first bike, i was thinking this one but as soon as you said the thing about the throttle response i knew itd be too much. Ill have gone through all of the classes and things offered in GA (like motorcycle safety foundation and what not) so im sure ill be mostly familiar with most maneuvers. I would do the smart thing and get a ninja 300 or Yamaha r3, but i need to be able to keep up with interstate speed without redlining the entire trip, im planning on going on some pretty big road trips with my dad so i need something thatll keep up. thanks for reading this long ass comment, i appreciate any response and keep up with the awesome videos.
So I have a Honda grom and I was considering getting a Kawasaki ninja 650 next but I like how this bike is pretty much just a bigger grom in a sense or a bigger "z125" and looks like it has a upright seating position but would you recommend this bike over the ninja for someone like me???...also I'm 5'5 I'm gonna go sit on one soon at a dealer but in between time what do u guys think?
Hey I was wondering if someone can help me diagnose a problem? The other day I dropped my bike while I was on it (braked hard to keep from hitting the curb and fell over on the left side). The only visible damage was a bent shifter pedal and a little bit of green liquid was on the ground where I fell, but now the bike won't start. All it was doing when I hit the button was a brief rapid clicking sound. I jump started it with a car and it was running fine, but once I turned it off it wouldn't turn back on. It won't turn over, it just makes a rapid clicking sound still. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Thanks guys
Thx Chase I was almost gonna get the z800 as for my first bike.I been riding for 5 month on my friend Demark125 and I was going to find a suitable bike Soo I started to pick the z800 afther seeing this video I changed my mind
Chase you're so baffled lool the Z800 came out before the FZ09 and the Z800 also has a restricted version which only has 46bhp called the Z800E in some country's.
Chase, you need to take one of those Can-Am Spyder F3-S's out for a rYde and do a review. They're different, but they are also a blast to rYde...They have the new 1330cc inline triple Engine that produces +/- 120hp and a ton of torque! Try to get a hold of a 6 speed MANUAL transmission one though, the semi-auto (to me) wasn't that much fun when I rode them both back to back. I ended up buying one after test rYding it, and I traded in a Kawasaki Ninja 1k so I know what riding on 2 wheels is all about, and believe me...I do miss the 2 wheel experience but my GF refused to ride with me on 2 wheels, she's much more comfortable and feels a lot safer and will now ride with me on the SpYder. I'm considering buying a Yamaha WR250R Dual Sport in the near future, while also keeping the Spyder for long distance cruising and having the ability to carry cargo/passengers safely on it, and use the WR250R as a hooligan/do anything/go anywhere kind of bike.
Not sure if you've done one before as I'm new to your channel #c2wfr, but if you could do the Honda NC700X or NC750X that would be great as that's the bike I am currently considering.
it's the other way around. Z800 was already out before the FZ/MT09 was released.
thats right. Z800 came in late 2012. I knew fz07/09 existence in 2014.
Well the Z750 thoug (the predeccessor has existed for many many years before that)
Q. Anyui don’t forget about the fz8’s. Came out in 2011 I believe
got this as my first bike and honestly I couldn't be happier, it's really easy to get used to and it's really comfortable, I would definitely recommend this to others honestly 👍
Does it feel heavy?
this was your first bike?is it easy to handle for a first time rider?
Just the comment i was hoping to find. Thank you! 😁
my first bike was a 50cc before I got this, I thought it was heavy but the dealer put me on a 400kg bike and I no longer find this bike heavy. It's all just getting used to the bike@@Smoove233
... he thinks thinks kawasaki copied yamaha .... the fuck!?!
kz1000 have been around for a looong time
I always love the upright torque monster bikes, they're too fun.
+bakerXderek i know right i want one so bad!
+bakerXderek Me too, I fall in love with my fz-09 every time i ride it. You need to get one when ever you have the chance.
+TwistedTorque i always feel like the suspension is crap and i dont feel confident leaning on it, but that crossplane inline 3 makes it worth it! i want one!
Yeah suspension is not the best, but i still push it way beyond want you can legally do anyways.
i think the suspension not being the best is part of why it does such effortless power wheelies though xD
you need to try the SUPERDUKE 1290 :)
+BLDH love ur videos dude! big fan! greatings from norway :)
+BLDH I 100% support that! And yes I really do. I'm scared I'll buy it if I ride it though. #jk #tooexpensive
I don't understand all the hate on these videos from Chase, I think him just riding and giving his first views and feelings are exactly what I want from a "First Ride" I don't want selling points or what's in the spec, I wanna see what it feels like to a daily rider.

Sharon Solomon that's Wat I was thinking my 650 is just fine on the highway I'm sure a 800 would be just fine
It's simple , i see 'Chaseontwowheels' new video i hit like.
true
+Stefan Velisic I can dig that kind of mentality
+chaseontwowheels Salute from Serbia.
+chaseontwowheels you ever done one for a hypermotard?
+chaseontwowheels Keep This Middle View Point Please :D I'll pay you to keep it :(
Guest the 6th is the hypermile gear, low revs, low gas use easy cruising. Wanna overtake? Drop a gear. Sounds perfect for me
Indeed thought so too. Also for cruising on the highway you dont want your highest gear to be too sensitive/twitchy do you? Thinking of getting a windshield though since id commute at least 4 hours a week at 120 km/h
Right ? Drop a gear and disappear !
drop some gears, it'll go just fine at highway speed. ;)
another nice looking Kwak with an awful tail pipe
No big deal if you plan on putting an after market exhaust on
Chicken Strangler
It's almost like they make them knowing that everyone will change them
+VeeFour I took mine off straight away, weighed about 5 fucking kilos ahaha
+VeeFour Most people swap the exhaust anyway lol
Its nice that, akrapovic has the best exhaust for this bike... this akrapovic is better than even on the zx14rs
Man it really is like you have no idea what you are talking about with these bikes or reviews in general. These have been a bike since like 2006.... as the Z750
+Onoff314 Indeed! 1st Gen since 2004, second 2007... I'm offended by this review :D I own a 2007 z750
No need to get butthurt
junnutube is it beginner friendly?
no
Michael Ortiz yes it is.. they even got 35kW versions... it's a heavy bike tho, you don't feel it in them curves through! I got 0 complaints about it.. just maybe one.. I don't got the balls to try wheeling it and I have too push the rear break very hard tho!
I cant wait and hope the MT-10 comes to the USA :D
green wheels?
+JoeGo101 If it comes I will hand over every dime I got!!!!
+JoeGo101 Dude you have no clue!
Any plans to do an update video on the new 2017 Kawasaki Z900 that will be replacing the Z800/Z1000?
i bought this bike. it is a great bike. it hauls ass. you hit 4k and it wants to just go. it is a fun hoolagan bike. you can twist the throttle in 4th gear doing 35 or so and the numbers climb rapidly. the thing i love about this bike is if you lean forward and peg the throttle in 2nd you are going to instantly smile you just fly. very fast bike. very nice riding one up. has plenty of power for your pleasure and im 6'2 and 300 lbs. i prefer honda but they have nothing like this that is not a sport bike. the z800 is sweet.
nothing can beat the face design of z800 .............true MEGATRON
Great video sir! So you know the Z800 has been out longer than the FZ09, 2015 I believe was the first year it came to the US. It has been primarily in the European market.
+Az Ninjaguy Yes, the Z800 come out in 2013, i have my z800 from avgust 2013. And its great.
+MrMigo028 z07 or z800
z800
+Ali Imran z800! mt07 has shit suspension.
Chase continually shows in these reviews that he doesn't do research on the bikes and doesn't know hardly anything about them
Hey chase, if you'd except my criticism I'd like to give you feedback.
+chaseontwowheels Keep This Middle View Point Please :D I will troll you until it stays in the middle :)
When you show off the bike with all those camera shots, my love for you just grows...!!
Hey chase, 6th gear on z800 is over drive gear for better mpg, if you want to pass cars on freeway, you need to downshift to 5th to get that power punch.
in my country this bike has been on the market for a few years
same here. there even Z800 club with hundreds of owner, just in town.
damn in my country u can't even find a normal bike
Everybody please tell him to do a review of the Kawasaki h2 PLEEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEE
This has been in markets other than the US for a while now, longer than the fz-09.
+BTheFisch it's been in the us too for a while. they have been taking the z800 off and on the market every now and then depending on the demand. the z1000 have been around for a long time though.
you mean 1977? lol.
Its almost 100lbs heavier than the FZ09. Thats a BIG downside. Good lord, did they make the frame out of lead?
+SunzOffski yeah but at that point you're probably looking for something with wind protection and a slightly longer wheelbase.
Chase i beg you try the kawasaki H2 #C2WFR
+Steve Redhog It takes alot to take one for a test ride.
+hakim shaitit Like being a popular motovlogger
ash bandicoot True, and ALOT of paper work.
hakim shaitit well he takes liter bikes :)
Kawasaki H2? thumbs up so he'll see!
There's nothing to see. So, no.
Other than a supercharged bike that's increasing popularity online, you're 100% correct. Nothing to see.
DAProfanity Then I agree. If he could get his hands on one, I'd like to see it too.
(Remember the confusion with the RC8?)
Not being rude, just trying to help improve the first ride series.
i know this is old, but he was mostly meaning for the US, till the fz 09 came along we didn't get alot of the cool naked bikes that other countries got sadlh
+Jonathan Bauer *sadly
I thought the primary competitor for this bike was Yamaha's FZ8 which is also an inline 4 800cc bike and perhaps Suzuki's GSR 750
+Bikers Quest If that's it's competition then it blows it out of the water! Riding wise it felt MUCH more like an FZ09
Brand new out the door $7000???????
+chaseontwowheels So, the Z800 is the best naked bike for you? Is it your number one?
+Andre Boitchenco he liked the fz 09 better, and then he absolutely loves the fz 10 and wants to buy it
that bike is everywhere in our country... affordable, looking agressive, and nice sound.
I'll give you a like for all the likes you gave us in the video
Took it out for a spin once, loved it ;) It was the 2014 version though.
Any1 who has the Z800E version!?
i am a new rider and i drove this bike and its fine
wow really?
yes thats true
maintanance?
kawasaki is very reliable but it needs someone who understands kawasaki because it has its own technology, i advice you tu get other bike in case you are thinking to get this one, its not very exciting
thx for the reply my man..
the first kz1000 (z1000 for short) came out in 1977. the revamped modern version came out in 2003...
If i get the H2, I want to be able to get it down to you to do a first ride on.
wow a H2
lol yep, i'm working towards it so. It's not a matter of hoping and wishing, it's just a matter of when
+Wicked Moto can't wait!
the z800r is a direct competitor for the fz 09 & fz07
and though it is, as i understand, new to the US, it's been around in Europe since 2013 and replaced the z750r.
i got to ride it a few weeks ago, very very good package for a competitive price/
as you said chaseontwowheels - well done Kawasaki !
there is a deal locally for a 2016 model $5499 25 miles only. BUT it was dropped. no broken fairings but a couple scrapes and nicks here and there.....hmmmmm.
*5999* just double checked but yea still a heck of a deal.
do it buy it
There's a whole bunch of em now for $5499 brand new. They're having trouble getting rid of them. It's a niche bike and not very practical.
Hasn't the Z-800 been available in Europe since like 2006?
Yep
+CockatooDude Very popular in Asia and India. I guess we just get the rest of the batch...
+CockatooDude yeah, but we just got them in the U.S this year
Dickey Moto I know, my comment was lamenting the fact that it took this long to get the cool bikes to the US.
+CockatooDude oh ok, yeah man I hate that it takes so long too. I sat on a z800 today and it was rly cool.
Complaining about a six gear pull from a inline 4 at 69 mph? Solution = drop a gear or two...
Hes not complaining, hes just letting us know how it is
#C2WFR could ya get your hands on a 650 v-strom? would be awesome! nice vid as always!
+Xiang Lee-Hong This could be possible
+chaseontwowheels thanks in advance and for replying, man! have a nice day
+chaseontwowheels on second him vstrom 650
I have a 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 and it has the exact same seating position. It is the best bike I've ever ridden. Super comfortable and more than enough power to satisfy most. BTW that throttle is easily adjustable, had to do it to mine because it had a lot of freeplay.
Can you do a first ride video for the 2016 Yamaha yzf r125 if at all possible thanks and have a good day 😉👌
+MagicPoptartz14 they are piece of shit...if you are a beginner which i assume you are since asking for a 125...Start of with an Aprilia rs 125.
+Redline R6 really ? Thanks for the info
Redline R6 Aprilla RS125 aren't fast champ. the yzf is a totally fine learners bike
16:45 so much frickin bs! I enjoy the highway on my cbr125r come on ! A 800 is a beast in every single gear , and if you didn't know yet performance is not testet in 6th gear which is an overdrive !
Did you change your camera position? I'm so used to seeing the Variant quarter shot.
+atownzone3 All first rides this season have had this new camera angle!
+chaseontwowheels I guess it is for the better, now we can get a better view of the bike without the helmet blocking a portion of it.
I personally think I'd like it angled a bit more down, so I can see more of the bike :)
+chaseontwowheels can you do a first ride on a husquarna nuda 900r and greetings from sweden
+chaseontwowheels Chase, Ride a EXC500
+chaseontwowheels Chase, Ride a EXC500
There are drones that follow you now ... But I understand the one man scene... But I pray for your expansion soon... I really like the vids
acutally this bike was in europe before the fz ever came out
Great looking bike. Especially for new and at it's price. But why do they put that ugly tail on it for the rear signals? Seriously don't companies know it's like the first thing to go once you've bought it.
+chaseontwowheels can you please review a ktm 690 enduro r
Zed's been around before MT(FZ)-09 ... whether you're talking about Z750/800 or the big Zed Z1000 ...
+František Šindelář Production for Z800 and MT09 both started in 2013.
Would you be able to do a review on the Kawasaki H2?
just type it into UA-cam
So I learned to ride a 600 when taking my motorcycle license. I'm thinking this would be okay to start with?
if you can ride a 600 comfortably get it why not
i came from a 250 and the learning curve was smooth lol i love this bike.
Great first ride videos. Moving up from a Ninja 300, the second bike will either be an FZ-07 or a Z800. Tough choice.
Z800 man, I owned the 2014 and it's a wonderful machine
Still no H2 first ride? That's a shame.
Okay, so I was going to get the Z650 for $7,400 with ABS from my local dealer as my first bike, but they are selling a 2016 Z800 for $7k. So literally a better bike for $400 cheaper. Should I go for it or stick with the Z650 as my first?
I find it interesting how this video was uploaded one day after I got the Z800 from my local Kawasaki dealership. Hmm.
+Benjamin Clark Illuminati confirmed for sure!
When the z125 pro is released do a comparison ride with a grom!!!!
Chase, i love your reviews but i really to have to say that you did not give the 2016 Z800 enough justification. This motorcycle is capable of much much more..
"Its an inline 4' whats serious about it?" Are you serious? Or you just don't know what you are talking about?
right? I'm getting a zx12r, it's on a 1200cc inline 4. only goes 230, no big deal.
He's talking about low end torque. ....inline 4's aren't known for their torque
i know i know... im just another of annoying subscribers, but since you are the best reviewer i know, i would love if you would review some less sporty bikes... like honda cbf or yamaha ybr .... i would really like that.... btw hello from serbia! love ur vids
Lol Z800 evolve from Z750 and it has been around for years but not in US. It has been sold here in South East Asia for years.
I think it's time you hop on an h2
Buying one this Saturday can’t wait 🏍💨
Pretty sure this bike was out before the Yamaha models? So the fz-09 was trying to be this? #C2WFRKTMSUPERDUKE
My first bike was a 50cc aprilia sx50, rode that one for 3 years and when I got the z800 (A2 restricted) I was suuuuper scared and super slow on the throttle for my entire time riding it this season, but man the bike is great, just having a hard time slow turning it and making U-turns
hey chase, why dont you try the 2016 yamaha mt-03? or there hasn't been released?
+Attar Kautsar I haven't seen it yet. As soon as I do I'll try and get on it though!
Cool! Thanks for replying..
Well Chase, I'm following you since a bit of time now, but actually Kawasaki is not getting in the "FZ07 FZ09 style of game"... Just for the simple reason that the Z750 (older sister), Z800 and Z1000 have been released YEAAAAAARS before the FZ09.
The Z was competing against the others INLINE 4 CYLINDERS NAKED (principaly famous in Europe I think) : Hornet, CB, Bandit, GSR, FZ6, etc... ;)
I didnt like that bike .
care explaing why?
I wanted to share my idea. if someone can write i like that bike, also i can write that i didnt like.
Cant i mate?
+QuickShifter Hey I just put up a new video on my channel a day or so ago and im wondering if you go check that or my other videos out and tell me what you think and what I could do differently to make them better. And if you like it please subscribe thanks!
It´s nicer the Suzuki GSX-S 750 ABS
Ever?
Any chance you will be doing a Honda CBR650F test ride and review?
You dont do 60 mph on 6th gear on an inline 4, that just doesn't make sense. 6th gear is of course going to be the worst pull gear because you'll have no more engine to work with. My ninja 300 can still pull in 5th gear as well or better than in 3rd gear because I have another gear to go and more power. If you want good pull, from ANY BIKE, do it in 4th or 5th gear on the highway and feel the difference, almost any bike will have amazing pull, even that z800 that you didn't ride right.
I did a demo ride in April on this bike , liked it so much I'm getting one ! Your videos are pro quality .. great job Chase !!
#C2WFR Honda CRF250L would be nice, preferably 2015 but I don't think they've really changed anyway except for maybe graphics
lol Kawi has made AWFUL looking exhausts the past few years. The 2016 zx10 is pretty great. But the 2011-2015 stock is awful, and so is this one lol.
Hopefully you can answer this chaseontwowheels. Im really debating on the kawi z800 and the yami fz09....whats your preference on the 2?
How the fuck did they make it weigh 231kg!? That's pretty much sport-tourer weight class. I love Kwakasaki's but fuck this and give me the MT-09!
Thanks guys
Why in the world is the 2016 Kawasaki Z800 about 50 lbs heavier than the 2014 Kawasaki Z1000?! Data from CycleWorld
