Confessions is an ode to disco, dance floors and synthesizers. That’s why the tour has so many nods to classic disco classics (from the sample of “Gimme Gimme Gimme” by ABBA on Hung Up to the inclusion of “I Feel Love” by Donna Summer in Future Lovers to “Disco Inferno” by The Trampps with a nod to Tina Turner in the background video when she’s wearing a red leather dress before performing Music), the movie Saturday Night Fever or synth pop (Pet Shop Boys)... this is, for me, he’s best tour, the most organic. I can’t deny The Blonde Ambition created the current tour format, specially for female singers, but Confessions is so energetic and amazing. Also, you have to remember that for years Madonna was reduced by critics to just a 15-minutes of fame bad singer, and she demonstrated she came to stay and I think Confessions on a Dance Floor is a reconciliation to her dance floor queen image. And it was such a great statement.

Live to Tell was a #1 song for Madonna in 1986. It was the first single off of her True Blue album. She wrote the song for the film " At Close Range" starring her then husband Sean Penn. She has performed it on 3 tours, Who's That Girl, Blond Ambition and Confessions. The studio version is a bit different than the version she used on Confessions Tour.

I love at 19:00 that she goes into a really intense dance, right back to singing. And she was singing live. Hardly anybody else in show business does that. I've never seen anybody else do it. And probably not because they can't, but it takes courage to try, and Madonna is most courageous. That's one of her biggest assets.

Loved Isaac when I first heard it. The way she incorporated "Im Nin'alu" was just pure brilliance. "Im Nin'alu" is a hebrew poem by the 17th century's Yemenite Rabbi Shalom Shabazi, which has later been put to music and was sung by Israeli singer Ofra Haza, among others.
Yemenite Jews have been singing it in various celebrations, mainly weddings.
Ofra Haza's 1988 version is still one of my favourite vocals.

I think its the big difference between her and other female artists, she isn't afraid to go deeper, step outside of commercial pop. I think Kylie is lots of fun but she's very easy, glitzy with not much heart and honesty, she's more a showgirl (no bad thing) but Madonna has always stepped out from safety and challenged her fans to new sounds, new ideas etc. Something she did on the recent MadameX album and tour perfectly

Your reaction to Isaac was EXACTLY my first reaction when I saw this live.. This is my FAVORITE song on this tour AND album!..The symbolism with the cage and breaking free... CHILLS! And, yes.. The dancers are the same. Generally if the tour is planned whenu the album drops, they audition the dancers and they're contracted for the project. The music videos are filmed while they're rehearsing the tour; sometimes adding extra dancers for videos only as needed.

For the song Sorry, the main African American girl in the video was someone featured in ‘Rize’, a documentary by David La Chapelle, (an artist who loves to use bright colors)... it was about kids living in the worst parts of LA I believe who chose to go to local dance competitions instead of joining gangs or selling drug, which were basically the only other options where they lived. You had to have first seen Rize to recognize the girl on the video.
BEFORE the documentary came out, David La Chapelle had done a calendar with Madonna, so I knew they had a connection, but I saw that connection come full circle when Sorry was released as a video and I really almost shed a tear or maybe I did. To see someone who expressed having little hope to survive on this world on a Madonna video without any publicity about how Madonna gave her such an opportunity was very touching.
But this girl on the tour is not the same girl from the video. But I noticed that girl from the video on my own even though I never saw any press about it or heard about how Madonna put someone from the documentary into her video, which goes to show how she does things for so many people without having to tell anyone.

What’s cool about when she tours and when promotes her tours she uses the same dancers in the videos as well as outfits and costumes even when she’s being interviewed. It’s like each tour is it’s own package

If you love her acoustic material, you should definitely react to American Life album and its videos. The American life video MUST be the "Director's Cut UNCENSORED Version" though. Love your reactions :D

Everything that you are watching on this full dvd tour, the length of time and energy , every is what you see live. When you Madonna live, you very be prepare to get transporter into an art pop installation. You must be open minded to understand the concept of the show .
