I can't emphasize how much I loved this tour! Madonna's song selections where on point...and this ending was beyond EPIC! What other of her performances comes even close to this????
The Blond ambition tour surpasses this tour you'll be shocked!!!But not the Japan version you have to chose the Nice Version or Barcelona version!

The Re-Invention tour is epic, starting with the immersive intro The Beast Within, followed by an outstanding Vogue performance, and you'll love her 'mmm's' in her beautiful interpretation of Frozen ... but as a previous commentator has mentioned, every Madonna tour is unique in itself.

Just a lil fun fact: Madonna humping the boombox is a direct homage to herself back in 1985 during her Virgin Tour wherein she did the same when she performed Everybody. 😊

Her outfit is perfect. ABBA wore it first and the same way she paid tribute to John travolta in music she is doing the same in la isla Bonita.

P.S. It was not "enhanced for the DVD" - live it was a million times more epic visually and sonically. I was there, so trust me. ;) The DVD version had to make compromises to fit all the visual galore onto the screen. There were literally dozens of things happening simultaneously at any given moment. It was like being inside an immersive art installation.
I agree. There's a lot of cool editing for her DVDs, but it's mostly trying to give you the feel of being there. When those beats drop and you can feel it in your feet and chest - you can't replicate that on video.
@arshi oink I was in the audience one of the nights this was filmed and trust me, the DVD does not accurately represent the British audience at all. Everyone was on their feet all night, jumping all around me. It was disappointing that the DVD failed to pick up on this, for me.

So true. I saw this show twice live in NYC, and the DVD edits can never capture how amazing it was live. This is true of ALL her shows, but The Confessions Tour is probably the best concert I've ever attended (and I've seen all of hers live from Drowned World in 2001 through Madame X in 2019).

She is wearing that because that is the theme, disco, abba , segment. She looks wonderfull with pure talent.
So many years have passed, still dont know how to react to that radio moment at the end of the runway, is sooo great, how could you describe that
Have You Confessed? was part of the promotional campaign at the time, she had a phone line dedicated for people to call and confess things to, i think it was 1-800-Confess she had t-shirts with that number on it too, also the special edition of the album came with 2 books, one book with lots of photos from the photoshoot of the album and one was a notebook with illustrations by madonna for you to write confessions in. She really went all in with the confessing theme, actually she did the same with Hard Candy the special edition of that album came with lots of starlite mint candies inside the album box.

If you watch the reactions to the other three parts of the show you can see he is very distracted by some of the male dancers- hence missing KUNT and other elements. He interrupts the male dancers less than Madonna's parts 🤣🤣

I was lucky enough to be there for the recording of this breathtaking show at London’s Wembley Arena. One of her best shows!! I loved how the gold balloons dropped over the golden circle... it was a nice touch. I still have mine, which says Confessions Tour and the Confessions ‘Madonna’ logo underneath! I’m glad you enjoyed it ❤️❤️❤️❤️

What was “the golden circle”?
There was not golden circle on this tour. There was a "fan-selected area" on the Reinvention Tour and MDNA tour (called golden triangle).
@@jonvar3342 ok... the front section then... I was stood behind that area... I always class the very front as the golden circle... silly me 🤣 however I was lucky to get a Golden Circle ticket for Sticky & Sweet and it was 100% called the Golden Circle on that tour
I was there during the recordings of this amazing concert. And it was incredible. Your reaction is perfect too. Ignore the comments stating that you talk too much. That's what a reaction is about! They can watch the DVD or the concert on UA-cam in full if they prefer not to listen to you.

To me one of the most amazing Madonna's assets is how she picks songs that just fit perfectly into the tour's mood and modify or arrange them sometimes in a complete brand new version and makes them great songs again. For instance Let it will be she just decided the album version was not good enough and made that badass version... it is just genius.
Her outfit is based on ABBA's outfits on their Voulez Vous performance during their 1979 world tour. Is a Madonna's tribute to ABBA. I love the confession album. Amazing

The moment after the breakdown in Hung Up leading to the explosion back into the song after straddling the boombox will go down as the epitome of what Madonna is: visual, sonic masterful performer, full of seduction, sex, pure pop, style, motion, amazing visuals, pure perfection!
Btw, the pose after her spin descending from the boombox is the exact pose she has on the album cover of Confessions of a Dance Floor! The album artwork was inspired by the classic movie Tommy, a rock opera about the influence and downfalls of fame and fortune! Her songs, artwork, tours etc are always filled with references to other pieces of art. You can dissect everything in great detail, people already mentioned the reference of the costume she’s wearing directly to ABBA’s costumes. This is in my opinion her best and most well rounded tour. Being there is still one of the highlights of my life. Exhilarating from start to end, the biggest party I’ve ever been to!

This was Donnas lastime touring with Madonna. She at least had one last dance routine in Lucky star. Donna is a great performer.
I literally just listened to this album for the first time a couple of days ago it’s so good. Previously I had only heard hung up and jump... it’s definitely one of my favorites Now. Wish I was a few years older so I could have heard this album in the clubs when it first came out.
I was at both LA shows. It was 2 of the most funnest nights of my life. The whole place at the end was jumping for a good 15 minuets of non stop high energy. The best .She had everyone jumping during Ray of light also. We were on our feet most of the night. Could not sleep that night was so hyped and so excited to see it again and was even better the 2nd night Blown away.

This is her best tour not just because she's amazing during this tour, the scene is beyond words the choreography is the best she has done during her career the costumes are fabulous, the energy is like a storm during 2 hours, the light, the dancers, perfect perfect.... No doubt is her best tour and also the best ending of her career 💜

Hi Dereck! Love your reactions! Madonna is the Queen! One comment: those two girls that accompanied Madonna during her Lucky Star perfomance are not dancers but back up singers. One of those girls is Donna, who was in all Madonna's concerts up to that point. That was her last tour with Madonna... too bad because i always miss Donna and Nikie of course...

Her dress at the end is kinda like an ode to Abba
The outfit during La Isla Bonita has to be there because she had just changed into it for Erotica (which she sang before La Isla Bonita) and is intended to be worn for the whole disco segment. This is a disco version of the track and doesn’t feel like a Latin number, so I don’t think the outfit is out of place at all. Also, this outfit is a homage and a nod to ABBA. To me, it makes perfect sense. Great reaction, as always! I wouldn’t react to Blond Ambition next. As iconic as this tour was at the time, I think you’d find it more interesting at this point to react to MDNA, Sticky and Sweet, Reinvention and Drowned World Tour.
I think the thing he didn't realise as he was watching it for the first time is that while she *could* have had a costume change for La Isla Bonita, that would have (a) taken time and (b) therefore lost momentum and finally (c) she needed to be in the ABBA-inspired one-piece so that the cape could go over it for Lucky Star. Doing yet another costume change from a LAB outfit back into this would have been a mistake, so it needed to stay on during LAB. And, as you say, it worked.
The bodysuit perfect in every way but I can't help feeling it a bit off for La Isla. If LAB followed Music she could have kept the white trouser suit, then revealed bodysuit for Erotica and rest of show. This only stands out to me because her costuming is always always so perfectly conceived on every level.

Hope you'll do the "Sticky & Sweet" tour next (or after "Blond Ambition"). It is very different but also BRILLIANT.
Confessions on a Dance Floor was a return to dance music for her so she had all the dancing themes throughout. She killed it with creativity and I think her live singing was amazing. On Hung Up once again Daniel Cloud Campos is featured heavily and his performance adds to this spectacular finale. She merged all these amazing songs. I love her look. And agreed her smile throughout just adds to the thrill..

Confessions tour is the best but you need to do reinvention tour. Blond ambition is iconic but the vocals can be a bit hit or miss and I'm saying that as a fan.
Blond Ambition is the GOAT. Reinvention doesn't even come close. Her vocals are great but overall my least favorite of her tours. Peak Guy Ritchie period tbh.
Reinvention is nice but the footage available has her dancing a bit more stiff and hunched over in some of those costumes like the army costume and pantsuit. But her dancing in the opening corset and the hanky panky outfit really allowed her to move freely a lot better.

The thing with the outfit is that we are not at the beach at a beautiful island, we are in a DISCO, where they are playing a dance remix of La Isla Bonita. That's why i think that the outfit is not a problem.

I love your reaction to this tour, yes, is THE BEST , is a complete piece of art, every song, arrange, choreography, interludes, etc , she is n artists, a performer, she is a dancer.
You have to understand that the last part it's a complete oda to the 70s music, you have it with the Jon's Travolta look in the disco dance, you have the ICONIC leotard of ABBA in sexy disco and Latin disco and finally the complete of ABBA salute whith the Dancing queens cape in the popis 70s final in lucky star. And finally she is the absolute queen in Hang up, remember everything in Madonna's work say something more .

I’m from Switzerland. This was my second Madonna show. I saw her life in Paris two times. Once in Berlin an three times in Zürich. This show was absolutely fabulous! One of my favourites. I was very close to the platform but sadly i couldn‘t catch one of the balloons. 😂 But... it was great!

Really enjoy watching your reaction to this concert! I was in the tenth Row in San Jose right next to the catwalk for this one and it was one of the most amazing moments ever! I still have my gold balloon in my room here and I was so worn out at the end that I had to sit down for a while while everyone left the HP Pavilion. Such a workou! I love how you caught on to the audio elements of mixing songs into each other which is the same thing she does with the confessions album when she emerges the songs together. She hadn't done that since the You Can Dance album and it's great for getting that heavy workout and when you're listening to it. The tour is just amazing and definitely in my top five tour experiences of her! Big hugs :-)

What a fantastic reaction to my favourite Madonna concert!! I was there in London and the show was a spectacular masterpiece
The Confessions Tour was the first time I saw Madonna in concert. It was a night I’ll never forget. Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet but the main reason her voice was so incredible during this tour was due to the air in the arenas being moist from sweat. Madonna didn’t allow AC during this tour. She said she wanted fans to feel like they were in a 70s disco club. As a result, the moist air from the sweating crowd improved her vocal chords. I remember that vividly because I had fractured my spine that year & I was wearing a heavy, hot, plastic, back brace during the concert.
The DVD for this concert in my opinion is the best out of all her official concert DVDs. The visual editing by itself is breathtaking. Sure being there, the magic is a fantastic feeling but it’s always going to be different from DVD / Blu-ray releases. DVD / Blu-ray releases are all about great editing & I feel this tour was captured perfectly.

I was there for both nights of the recording, and was front row at the end of the catwalk for the night they filmed all the audience stuff. Embarrassing close up of me jumping up and down like a loon while shouting myself hoarse about time going by so slowly.

I don't know if you SHOULD watch another tour. Although they all have their moments, MDNA especially, I don't believe she'll pull off a finale quite like this again. She broke her own mould!

God. French here. I was in Paris for this tour. In front of the little scene . When she move on the radio, turn on the floor ,
The music , the ballon falling. My god , the best moment of my life ^^ not a lot of phones back in time so people jump clap hands and sing. Very good memories. And I remember having 5 times a crush eyes contact with one dancer , the white guy hair shaved. Paradis and heaven the same night ^^
Ok the DVD version is everything, I saw this show in Miami / July/ 2006 and I hate to tell you but NOTHING compares to the show I saw- I still STILL have not recovered---dude, whew👍😀

The costume is similar to the ones worn by the ABBA girls during their 1979 world tour. Also during this tour the ABBA album “Gold” was available to buy, part of the conditions for her to be able to use Gimme Gimme Gimme on Hung Up

Watching Madonna reactions like yours brings up memories of seeing her do what she did throughout her career and how she made her undeniable impact on the world reminds me of why I am a true die hard Madonna fan, for life.
The La Isla Bonita costume that you mentioned was a replica of the costume that the 2 female members of ABBA wore on their 1979 farewell tour. Hung Up also samples the ABBA song Gimme Gimme Gimme. That whole section, including the Dancing Queen cape was a tribute to ABBA.

First, thank you for your reactions. You've reacted to a lot of my favorite artists: Nightwish, Lara Fabian, Madonna, Tina Turner. You seem to have very eclectic tastes and this is amazing.
Concerning Madonna, I think the confession tour is her best but I hope you will react to the blond ambition tour (iconic one) and the MDNA tour (incredible performance considering she was in her 50s at the time).
And I think you should take a look on one of my favorite artist: french singer Mylène Farmer. She is often compared with Madonna because she started around the same time during the 80s and she's still here today (her last show was in 2019).
You don't have to react to her if you don't want to (or don't have the time) but here is a few of her songs with good music videos (in chronological order): Libertine, Désenchantée, Que mon coeur lâche, XXL, l'âme steam gram, Les mots, Fuck them all, Oui mais non, City of love.
If you like her universe, definitely check her shows (it is what she is most week known after all). They are not as fancy as the Madonna's shows but they are more emotional and visually and technologically more impressive (I promise you have never seen anything like it before). The best ones are, in my opinion, and again in chronological order: Mylenium tour, Avant que l'ombre à Bercy, Mylene Farmer au stade de France, Timeless 2013.
I really hope you will enjoy this (even if it's on your own time and not in youtube) but I'm pretty sure you will like her.
