    Hi,
I really like the review of the bag and you really pointed out some issues. I would like to have my gear tight and protected. I want to get the bag but not to remove the flap from the cube and only have the side access.
Thinking about it, since you got the 31, do you have the cube plus that's made for the 31? Just wondering if the cube plus can be fit in the 21 so it sits snug inside and not have that unused space in between the bag and the cube.
If you got both, that would be reaaly great to try. No one else got both bags to do that.
Now i'm even thinking if I get the lite and the cube and try to fit them together. I don't like the idea of folding the lid outside the cube as other lenses or cameras can move around.
So, what have you done with the bag?

Yes, I have both, and yes, I tried the 31L cube on the 21L, and unfortunately, it does not fit well.
What I did with the 31L is to cut the cube cover as I have no plans of using the cube and no plan to sell the 31L. Then I added tape velcro so the cube is snug fit in the bag.
Still, there's an annoying issue which I also showed on the video where the cube design still gets in the way when you're grabbing gears from the side.
But at least with this modification, I got more room out of the camera space.

@@dadstoysnthings That's too bad the 31 cube didn't fit in the 21 bag, that would've been great.
It might be better for me to go to London and see it in a store before committing to purchase it, I've seen loads of reviews about this bag in the last week and yet, none showed the issues you had with this bag. That would've been frustrating to find if I were to find these things after buying the bag, and it's not that cheap either.
Great job with this video, much appreciated!!!

@catalinstaicu4120 If Wandrd is to resolve this, what they can do is remove the cube from the 21L and use the same system the Lite has.
But honestly, with its price, it didn't find it worth the buy. It's still a good bag, but it's very limiting.
And also realized that the lack of side handle and that top tote handle is more of a nuisance than useful. I opted for another bag in my last international travel.

@@dadstoysnthingswhat did you end up using in the end? I got the 21 and thinking about exchanging it for the 31 for this reason. The cube is just too limiting.

    • @dadstoysnthings

@v1rg I sold the 21L and kept the 31L. I did cut the cube cover, and that gave me more room. Unfortunately, I still found the bag limiting, so I ended up using PgyTech OneMo Lite. Also did a review on that bag, and I can say it's way better and cheaper.

Thanks for this review! I'm on the fence with the bag and this video really showed me what I needed specially the camera storage part! And you're right about that cube, it's too small for the size of the bag!

I bought 21L for every day, go to work by walking and need a laptop backpack. I'm happy with it, can make my laptop, all cable and other stuff, my A7III with 3 lenses (20-35 and 85) with really good protection. On the top can put my flash, filter box and tripod carbon light on the side. Of course, 21l isn't huge, but without the computer, all my gear with the bag weighs 7kg, I can't see myself carrying around any more for nomadic walking, that's already quite an afternoon on my back. Thans for your vidéo :)

Thanks for the comments, I love to hear from you and the viewers!
And yes, this will fit the purpose. And you're right on the weight, the bag itself is already 2.8 lbs for it's size. When I tried to pack mine it came up to 22lbs, it wasn't fun to be on your back for long, though the chest and waist strap helps.
As for the camera compartment, I'm still hoping Wandrd would listen and remove the cube on this model and just make the camera compartment similar to the Wandrd Lite. Then I can truly say this is one of the best camera backpack!

Thank you for your thoughts and efforts you made. It’s so hard to find real people experience, not “influence sales” on youtube. You save my time and money. I wished to buy this bag for my SL camera+ lenses, and was thinking about 21L/31L…. But now I see it’s definitely not for me (huge backpack with unusable camera compartment). Probably will think about Lite version (still love design and materials), or Tenba Fulton (need to check built quality)

Thank you for the comment! And yes, you are correct. This is a decent size backpack with a cube that's barely usable unless you're carrying APSC mirrorless with APSC lenses like the Canon M50 or RF-S lenses.
As for the lite version, it actually has more camera room than the 21L and almost the same capacity as the 31L.
Shows how inefficient the design of those cubes are.
If you're looking for a cheaper alternative which can hold a good amount of camera gear, accessories, and a few personal items, please check out my review of the Bagsmart backpack.

Why not close the cube section completely (as designed) instead of leaving it open and folded like that?

    • @dadstoysnthings
      @dadstoysnthings  2 дні тому

The cube was designed with the lid, so you can carry it out separately if needed. If you close it while it's in the bag, it becomes such a nuisance trying to get to your gear. On my 31L, I actually cut off the entire lid as to me, it served no purpose.

Would you recommend the Prvke Lite version? That has more space without the cube. I'm still debating on that one. Will check out your review on the Bagsmart backpack.

    • @dadstoysnthings

It really depends on the purpose, I needed to carry personal items and camera gear. The Lite has space for my camera and lenses but not enough for personal items. I could solve that by adding tech bags, but I discovered another issue with the Lite. When loaded with gears and laptop, the Lite digs into my lower back, making it uncomfortable to carry for long walks.
I prefer my BagSmart over the Lite or the 21L, plus it only costs a fraction of what I paid for the 21L or even the Lite.

I’m sorry but this is not a fair review I’m afraid. First you say the box is tapered and then you move the inserts and suddenly it’s not tapered anymore (because the inserts were pulling on the walls of the box…). Then you say there’s little room in the box but you haven’t even moved the inserts around to organize it to accommodate larger cameras/lenses.. This bag has no problem at all swallowing a camera with 2-3 lenses (depending on what lenses of course), some batteries and other small accessories, a laptop and a tablet and maybe even a drone if you use the top compartment. With that said, the 21 ltr version is not the best bag in the world, but the 31 ltr one is, at least close to perfect. You must’ve mixed them up 😉 You want them to remove the box but that’s the whole point of this bag so just get another bag if you’re not happy with it’s versatility 😁

Thank you for you feedback, I eventually sold the 21L. I kept the 31L, but I made alterations to make it usable.
It's hard to show everything while not consuming an entire hour, but I did have this bag, and I stand with what I said. Specially the cube, it was a bad design.
