I can't wait for your Pixel Fold Video! I'm hoping that it might be my first folding phone, but I wanna see how it holds up after a visit to your house though!
Ive used several folding phones and honestly, if the main screen when folded isn't a normal size where its useable, then stay well clear. Folded its a square so mediia can't avail of the full inner display. If two s23 ultras were sandwiched together then id be back on the fordable train. Outer screen normal phone, inner screen when opened rectangular like a tablet. I learnt this to my cost. A lot of money spent for a tough lesson learned.
First gen folding from Google with G2 which has pretty average battery life in a 1-display device. Don't expect it to last more than 3 hours in a device with 2 displays.
I'm curious to know about the Pixel Fold's durability. Would you be testing that shortly? Would love to see how it holds up against the Z Fold 4, which survived your test. Thanks, Jerry Peter
I'm buying a Pixel fold regardless, but I cannot imagine it holding up as well as the Z Folds have. I'm afraid it will break in half when he tries to bend it backwards.

Yo Jery! I think your durability test videos are awesome! Keep it up. Please could you test the Samsung galaxy A03 next? I'd like to see how a budget phone goes in your tests. (It's definitely not my phone btw)
I got the 5a over a year ago, but probably won't upgrade anytime soon because it's the last phone that has a fingerprint scanner on the back where it's ultimately more convenient that on the screen...
While driving your car with an GPS app like Waze , on the phone , activating your phone screen by using fingerprint will be difficult if the phone is sitting tight in the airvents holder, like mine does. I use to keep the phone in the airventholder with a wirelles charger included, because I find it the most conveninet way for me, and my phone ( is air cooled by air vents , while driving on the sunny roads of summer )
My theory with the removable buttons is that at the twilight of the phone's lifespan it usually malfunctions, at least with my experience on my one plus 6t that I've owned since 2019, the volume rocker doesn't work as it should anymore. So I figure that the removable button is to cater for a replacement...Not too shabby!
iPhone's aren't like that. They're so well manufactured, you would think a factory in Heaven built them. That being said there are some extremely high quality, well built Android phones too. This is not an "iphones are superior comment" Just stating facts.
Btw I have the OnePlus 7 Pro, so I'm super close phone generation wise to your O.P. 6t I love the OnePlus 7 pro. It stopped receiving Android OS updates and Security updates so T-Mobile/OnePlus are forcing the phone into obsolescence earlier than necessary. Makes me mad.
@@laurenslee9134No they aren't. Android phones are manufactured way better than iphones and it's a damn fact unlike the opposite you say which is blatant misinformation.
Hello, Zack! I was always wondering how would the phone screen look like if you would continue the scratch test until level 10. Have you already done that and I missed it or has it never happened before? If it's not a huge hassle, please show us once :)
IIRC he has done a level 8 scratch in a phone, but at that point it's like he's breaking the glass or something of the sort. Fingerprint sensors go brrrrrr
he did in the past, few years ago, just for 'sake of science'. And what happened is 8 was super duper harsh scratch that you can easily spot and was thick, and at "9", the glass cracked, because it cracked at 9, he didn't want to continue with '10'
The inconsistent fingerprint scanner almost makes me want to perform my own durability test. Other than that the Pixel 7pro has been rather decent. Pictures are high end & it can take a punch. But that fingerprint scanner can be a considerable annoyance.
I have the same phone and I'll be honest... It's not a good FP scanner. I'm glad they put face ID on this phone because that would have been a deal breaker. Other than that, my Pixel 7A has been AMAZING
I currently have a pixel 7A and I did set up the fingerprint reader and if you don't hold your finger in the correct way when you're trying to set it up it'll be a little fussy about it. But for a $500 phone I wasn't expecting the perfect system
Can you add scratch testing to level 8 , 9 and 10 to your resting. It would be great to know how the harder levels scratch. I mean you can argue that it's not needed but still the information is interesting at least to me😊
I just watch the price tag and pass with a smile , telling myself it's unreasonable to own one 😬😂 not to mention if it was reasonable I couldn't buy it anyways 😂
Oh yes! I want the physical fingerprint sensor back. Side or rear mounted... it's fine! I hate ,hate , hate the on screen fingerprint sensor thingy with all my core.
@@gtx1650max-q Well, just the feeling that it's there.. something you can see, and specifically replace just that part incase it's damaged (experience from my pixel 2xl fingerprint replacement I did)... was really hoping Google would have put the fingerprint sensor on the power button on this one as a cost cutting measure. absolutely hate under screen sensors, they never work for me.
It might be because you have used optical sensors which are cheaper and less reliable usually. The ultrasonic ones in Samsung devices work so well for me as long as I don't use an improper screen protector.
@@articlize i hate readers on the power button. The best are on the back. I also really like it in the front button, like how it was on the S7 or iphones
I agree. Absolutely love the side mounted fingerprint scanner on my poco f3. It's super fast and your finger is always there when you take the phone out of your pocket. I've installed a cheap glass screen protector and that would cause problems with an under display scanner.
I'm a Pixel 5 user, my phone is still good for now but maybe later this year or next year this would be a great upgrade. I'm really not a huge fan of the size/weight of the Pixel 7
Unfortunately, if you don't like the size/weight of the 7, you'll have the same issue with the 7a. They have remarkably close weights and dimensions (less than 4g difference in weight and 0.3mm difference in height). This is something my sister was just complaining about as she also doesn't like the increased weight and size as well (she's still on the 3a). I'd highly recommend holding it in person at a store before buying if you have that concern.
500 dollars isn't a 'budget phone'. 200 is. i'm sick and tired of these reviews and influencers calling high end phones 'budget'. you don't call a BMW a budget car just because it's half the price of a ferrari. get your shit together
Google markets their 'a' line as their "budget" line, don't knock Zack for that. Just because it's not "budget" to you doesn't mean it isn't their "budget" offering. $500 is definitely cheaper than $900. It's like saying the BMW 3-Series is the budget BMW. BMWs are expensive cars, some are just more expensive.

Thanks, Jerry

I'm buying a Pixel fold regardless, but I cannot imagine it holding up as well as the Z Folds have. I'm afraid it will break in half when he tries to bend it backwards.

The Silence of the Phones
My theory with the removable buttons is that at the twilight of the phone's lifespan it usually malfunctions, at least with my experience on my one plus 6t that I've owned since 2019, the volume rocker doesn't work as it should anymore. So I figure that the removable button is to cater for a replacement...Not too shabby!
iPhone's aren't like that.
They're so well manufactured, you would think a factory in Heaven built them.
That being said there are some extremely high quality, well built Android phones too.
This is not an "iphones are superior comment"
Just stating facts.
Btw I have the OnePlus 7 Pro, so I'm super close phone generation wise to your O.P. 6t
I love the OnePlus 7 pro.

I think he's already done that once
IIRC he has done a level 8 scratch in a phone, but at that point it's like he's breaking the glass or something of the sort. Fingerprint sensors go brrrrrr
@@joaovictoraguiar9410 If you remember which phone was that, please tell me
He has done level 9 and level 10 scratching on Sapphire screen phones.. glass just started shredding into pieces after level 7
he did in the past, few years ago, just for 'sake of science'. And what happened is 8 was super duper harsh scratch that you can easily spot and was thick, and at "9", the glass cracked, because it cracked at 9, he didn't want to continue with '10'
Please review the pixel 7 . Let's see it beats your durability test and the screen too
The inconsistent fingerprint scanner almost makes me want to perform my own durability test.

This is an amazing durability test video. I love the Google Pixel phones.
While a kingdom crying may or may not have a link with this phone, the artwork in the back is pretty masterful, even for a “decayed” sword.
Just yesterday I applied the teardown skin on my Pixel 6 and I love it! 💧
Nice phone but seriously I don't think we should consider 500 $ as a budget price tag :)
The Pixel Fold starts at $1,799.
Most of the cars I've ever owned cost less than that.
I just watch the price tag and pass with a smile , telling myself it's unreasonable to own one 😬😂 not to mention if it was reasonable I couldn't buy it anyways 😂
The finger print scanner is best on the back like the previous pixels. Under screen is an awkward spot in most cases
Oh yes! I want the physical fingerprint sensor back. Side or rear mounted... it's fine! I hate ,hate , hate the on screen fingerprint sensor thingy with all my core.
@@motionoftheocean7524 why's that ?
@@gtx1650max-q Well, just the feeling that it's there.. something you can see, and specifically replace just that part incase it's damaged (experience from my pixel 2xl fingerprint replacement I did)... That they had actually put a "hardware" to function likeso... I mean, i guess one would have to replace the whole screen if the fingerprint on screen doesn't work...in case something happened say on the fingerprint screen area?... I am not much of an expert... But it's just the feeling that it's there... I am sorry that i cannot express more fluidly than that...
was really hoping Google would have put the fingerprint sensor on the power button on this one as a cost cutting measure. absolutely hate under screen sensors, they never work for me.
don't think you meant to say 'have' lol.

Same. I'm using the P5 as well and I find that with a case, this is the biggest I ever want a phone to be.
