    This was very informative.When I always spray opaque black on the top of my lure you can’t see anything under it next time I’m going to try the trans black!!👍

    Great tips. Ty. I like using Black on back and then dust a pearl over it to add flakes.

      Thank you! And that is ofcourse a totally different result, pearl on black looks great and just stands out more from those "factory lures". Thanks for sharing your idea! 🙏

    I try to never use straight black or white as nothing in nature is true black or white. I dabbled in oil painting for a short time and found that both those colors were flat and unnatural. My favorite to use to darken up a back of a lure is Goldens high flow shading gray. Great video thanks

    • @lureblanks
      @lureblanks  2 роки тому

      Agree! And that shading gray sounds like a perfect color! 😁

    I don’t think the fish care if you use opaque black
    But I understand your point

    • @lureblanks
      @lureblanks  Рік тому

      I fully agree to that 😉! Fish don´t care 😊

      @lureblanks  2 роки тому

      Haha well it is not wrong! Maybe i explained it wrong 😁😁 it is a matter of opinion but if you don't want a super dark , all but black back then a transparent is a more natural and subtle approach 👊👍

    I d like to see something on airbrushing on a lead surface and getting it to stick. I do a lot of spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. I've had to resort to using powder paints for durability on the lead

    • @lureblanks
      @lureblanks  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately I have no experience or lead baits to work with and have no idea what would be best in this case :D

    Great info. I would like to ask what clear coat you were using prior to painting the fins or that you mentioned using when unsure of next step?

    • @lureblanks
      @lureblanks  2 роки тому

      Thank you! In this case i used a waterbased polyurethane clear, that you can dip and dries pretty fast, although it did not dry evenly this time and have to see what I did wrong 😁

    Hi-new to your channel. Thank you for your direct, understandable approach. I was wondering what clear coat you recommend. In the video you mention that the translucent white fin will really pop once you use clear coat. So I was interested in your thoughts. Thank you!!

    • @lureblanks
      @lureblanks  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for your comment Aaron! I like to use an epoxy clear coat because these are the strongest clear coats. Espacially good for waters with pike in them. But with what I mean with that the fin will pop after the clear coat is because an type of clear coat will give your paint a wet look, meaning that it will blend colors a bit more, make transparent colors more transparent again, enhance pearl and metallic pigmented paints and so on. This effect does or result does not depend on the clear coat itself but depends on the paints underneath the clear coat 😉 Hope that makes sense 😄

    Yea i did a great mullet olive green grey back on a blank perfect for muddy water then i added a bit of black ,yea that didn't go well i saved it with color shift purple green oh well you live & learn by mistakes , but i do black lures for night luring but il never go that dark again ever....

    • @lureblanks
      @lureblanks  2 роки тому +1

      Haha thank you for sharing! This way others don't make the same mistake. Great save with a colorshift though! 👊 ofcourse if you want to paint a black black lure then opaque black is the color you need, but lots of beginners use it on the back too to just darken it a little or atleast that is what they try to do 😊 if the goal is a black lure then it is not wrong ofcourse 👊😁
