What do you use for a clear coat?
Thank you ❤
Do you do miniature painting? Lol
What do you use to encase/varnish the lure?
Lureblanks, your statement at the beginning of your video is wrong considering you do not know or your not knowledgeable about certain things about paint. It also is not your fault because you most likely haven't been painting for 35 years either. Wanted to help you with that information. Yes it greatly makes a difference if you are using gloss black or matte finish ESPECIALLY using these 2 products, Wicked Quicksilver and Wicked Gold you definitely need to use the Gloss Black to achieve the effect it's made for. Most importantly is you need to spray both of these paints very very light coats when using them for a couple reasons and there's more. Some of this you will have to learn through trial and error but light coats are essential. Just wanted to help you give the correct information.
Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge!
Have u tried colours from temu ?
Looks amazing
What kind of paint do I need to buy?
??????, SO UR BASECIS WHITE BUT U PAINT LIGHTER COLORS FIRST
that was an awesome video man. How did you apply your final coat is it just a spray clear coat
Thank you! I used UV resin as a final coat for this one 😊
Just bought my first holographic heat transfer foil think it is a vinyl says it's pu for clothes as I couldnt find any other type, I've tryed nail foils and find them difficult also tryed clear holographic adhesive vinyl, wasn't happy with the end result of either, I have a iron also a small craft heat gun just need to get some iron pads, I'm going to be covering some needle jigs no more than 16 cm long and 1 cm wide so not alot to cover, I am very greatful for your video and hope to repeat the process of what you have done, I have an airbrush artist in the family so I be asking him to do some painting once foils are covered thankyou again for your video it's cost me a few pounds and a few jigs to learn the correct way and materials to foil them. I'm not applying direct to metal, just over the topcoat and previous foil and paint... Will let you know how I get on

Hope you figured out a way to transfer the foil!! 😊
I see it’s a year since you posted this video and I hope that your energy prices are coming down. I’m going to be brave and try a crackle finish. Thank you for sharing your technique.
Thanks Michael! The prices are more stable now at moment! So thats good :D.
Thank you very informational
Appreciate that!
Do you have any advice on overspray? Every time I try to do a fire-tiger lure, the yellow ends up speckled and looks like a cool ranch Dorito
Haha Sorry the decription was too funny :D! Play with airpressure, Lowering the airpressure might help. But if it is too low then you also get overspray, its finding that sweet spot. Also reducing the paint a bit more might help, that makes it more runny and less particles will float around the air. Let me know if it worked!
Intelligence and talent are wonderful together. Couple ths with your relaxed presentation and it makes for beautiful videos. I have to smile at the reactions to painting with a brush. So quickly the techniques of the old masters become lost in time. Simply wonderful! Oh wait I already said that.😊
Wow thank you so much for the kind words!!! 🙏
👍👍👍👍
👍👍👍👍👍
Great video. Nice colors. Your techniques are superb
Thank you so much!
Great video as always Don’t want to hijack your video, but I’ve been painting lures about a year now, and there’s some things I wish I knew when I started. As with you, I use nearly all Createx paints. After stocking up with their basic paints, I’ve learned that the regular paints are typically too thick for me to shoot through a .35 needle and are made to work with soft materials like fabric. The Wicked line is thinner and works much better in airbrushes for hard surfaces like lures. For me all Createx paints I’ve tried work better mixed with UVLS and 10% reducer. The UVLS and a little reducer makes a HUGE difference in adhesion, resistance to scratching, and how well the paint flows. I almost never get tip dry now. Works best mixed in a little medicine cup and let it stand 10 minutes to emulsify per Createx instructions. Createx just came out with a new 4021 reducer that replaces every other reducer and paint mixed with it does not have short shelf life like their other reducers. Old reducer makes an excellent airbrush cleaner if you want to use it up Also, you will save yourself a lot of headaches if you keep dried paint off the tops of the bottles. One piece the size of a grain of sand will clog your tip. When guys think they have tip dry I think it’s much more common to have chunks in the paint. If anyone reading this hasn’t watched your video on realistic scales, it’s amazing Thanks for the effort you put into these
Thank you for sharing your experience , and taking the time to type it all out! Cheers!!! :D
Amazing job!!
Thank you!!
this is such a helpful video, very talented
Glad it was helpful!
Love the burning letters in the background!
Thank you!
Snyggt jobbat!
Greetings and Salutations I got homemade d.i.y lures They are in general formed from melted Styrofoam plates The lava patterns are another lifetime ✨️ Good Luck Thanks 😊
Thank you so much for the compliment! Appreciate that!
Cool ideas homey
Glad you like them! Thanks man!
Nice execution
Thank you!
Excellent video again and very informative, thank you for taking the time to upload it.
My pleasure!
Excellent job, I am learning a lot thanks to your videos ! Sorry for my question out of subject : I am living in Thailand, createx paint can't be bought here. I manage anyway to get some, a friend is going to bring to me some but I don't have any createx reducer 4011. Here the most commonly brand available is Vallejo, do you know if createx can be thinned with Vallejo thinner, flow improver? We are talking about water based brands so, no reason why it can't work anyway, cause your experience, you are one of the few lure, video makers doing Vallejo as well, I ask you, may you know. Google research didn't give any proper answer. Thanks 🙏 so much
Great question! I haven't tried it out but I don't see why it wouldn't work, give it a try on a test piece or piece of paper. I think you should be fine! 👍😊
Those are called binder clips
Thanks!
Always come back to this video, thanks!
Great to hear that! 😁😁 thank you!
I started with an Iwata neo and it was great at first then just started not pushing paint no matter the pressure or thickness. Bought a new needle and still nothing. Replaced the nozzle still nothing. The only thing it sprays is cleaner lol. I then invested in a better gun and haven’t had any problems for years now.
Funny you should say that as the Iwata Neo was also my first airbrush and I had the exact same problem. Like you I just sold it to get my money back and bought a better quality one.
Interesting! No idea what the cause would be, but thanks for sharing both of you! 😊
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼
👍👍👍👍👍
Great demo, thanks for showing! ✌
Thanks for the comment!
Did you have seal it before going fishing?
Yes, you got to seal the paint and foil before fishing or else it will not last very long 😊
polish it before its on the lure with eagle one then clean with alcohol then apply to the lure, might have to go over it lightly in a spot or 2 but nothing like what you had to do and you get it all polished since it was done off the lure while it was still flat, and no applying it doesnt ruin the polish if you are gentle
Thanks for sharing!
Late to the party here- great tutorial, THANK YOU!
Better late then never! 😆Thank you for the comment!
Firstly, what is that sheet of what looks like mylar, and what exactly did you do to make it adhere?Makes no sense without any explanation. Secondly, wouldn't it be faster just to use silver paint and brush it til you get the desired effect? Thirdly, how toxic is this process? Genuinely curious about all three.
This video was meant to be a short, quickly just showing a technique 😊 But most of your questions are answered in this video : ua-cam.com/video/zlDTxvJ5CGY/v-deo.html But to answer your questions real quick here: The glue is waterbased and non toxic. the foil is a special transfer foil The glue makes the foil adhere And with silver paint you will not get the some results, the foil pieces are more like metal flakes and are way more shiny then a silver paint 👌
Wow, this guy has put in some time. Then is nice enough to share with us, so we dont have to put in as much time. Much appreciated. 👍
Appreciate the comment!! Took many hours of workin indeed to paint this lure and then edit all the hours of footage into a watchable video that doesnt take for hours and makes even people with insomnia fall asleep 😂
Nice video. Very detailed. Something makes me think this guy was into art and painting long before he was i to fishing. Either way, good content, bro.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate that! I have fished almost my entire life, starting with some bait and a float. Never really been into art or doing something creative since a few years ago when i started painting lures. Which only shows that anyone that is willing to put some time and work into it, can really make beatiful art 🍻
The uneven surface that is left by brush strokes is actual something i sometimes do on purpose. The reason is that when i am casting a crankbait im trying to recreate a natural presentaion to mimic a feeder fish that was dropped by an unlucky bird of prey. So the uneven surface can kind of mimic the damage to the skin that may have been caused by the bird's talons.
That is an interesting theory you are working with! Sounds like you are fishing for smart and well trained fish that have seen many hooks before
What is the holder you are using?
They are called helping hands or soldering station, You can find them at a lot of places 👍
Love your videos as always, and that was very, very impressive beautiful
Thank you so much! Warms my heart to hear that!
Nice video! How many coats did you use?
Ow that video has been a while back 😅 I believe i did one coat on each lure just to get the results i was after and then finished them later with more painting and 2 more coats
Awesome paint job, thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Thank you for the compliment!
beautiful work !
Thank you so much!
Just watched this again. I am going to paint Wiggle Warts in the original transparent craw pattern. The top is a transparent deep oxide red over transparent olive green. I was concerned that those would be too opaque. This technique using random pattern stencils should give the results I’m looking for. Your videos are quite informative and well done. Thanks again
You are very welcome! Really glad to hear that my video could be of any use! Hope the results will be exactly what you were aiming for!
Amazing job as always .., may I ask what clear coat do you use ?
Thank you so much! Currently experimenting with unbranded UV resin, Results are a bit unclear, sometimes good, sometimes still tacky :D
