Paper clips! I use those all the time. Hanging lures after dipping, poking eyelets for removing clear coat, eyelet drip hangers, and for holding in my turner/UV chamber.
My #1 and 2 tip is #1 make a paint shaker from a Saber saw/Jig saw, it saves your airbrush, and arms, especially with glitter or Metallic paint.
#2 if you use a air compressor, install a Air bypass around your regular with a valve, so when your cleaning your airbrush you can use higher pressure to really clean out the nozzle and throat. This has saved me many deep cleanings!
the 1st tip was so simple that i never have thought of it while having a lot of moldclay laying in the corner ;) thank you baker!
Great tips!
Another great use for acid brushed is for making tails. You squish the metal holder and it fans out the bristles. Put tape over the bristles and cut away from the metal holder. Add glue or epoxy and insert into your plug (I make wooden plugs). Cool little detail.
I love your videos! Your tips have really been helpful for me. Thanks for sharing!!
Your list is great and useful. Couple things I would add.
6:01 I mainly use Createx paints, though I also use Golden, Testors, and FW inks. Createx Airbrush Restorer is an absolute must have IMO. it thoroughly cleans the airbrush paint cup and needle parts almost instantly. Airbrush cleaner is not nearly as good. I use regular artist brushes for two part epoxy and the Restorer will quickly and easily clean wet epoxy out of brushes should you choose to reuse them.
Q-tips. If you make a painting error, the fresh paint can be easily cleaned off with a wet Q-tip. I also clean overspray off the the sides of holographic lures when done. Restores the shine
I always mix in Createx UVLS 4050 and reducer in Createx paints, particularly the original ones. Makes the paint shoot far easier, makes it tougher so it doesn’t scratch as easily if using stencils. Virtually eliminates dry tip. Cleanup is far, far easier. This is really important with opaque colors, particularly white and black
Always appreciate you help and tips.
Key tools and organization always helps make a job easier and more professional looking....thx...nice work👍
I use plastic med cups. Smaller and cheap. Plus they have measurements on the side
I love the jello shot cups. They will keep paint for a few days, just have to remix them. Another for me is Christmas ornament hooks. I bulk ordered them for hanging my lures after their dipped works amazing.
Awesome, seeing some tips. Will use the eraser for sure. Great as always 👌
Great Video!!!I have been painting lures for a month now, I saw some glidebait blanks in your backround and was wandering where you get them from.I have looked all over the web and have only found ones on temu. When you have the time may you please link the glidebait blanks?Thank you, your videos re great
Great video. Love the organization box
I build and repairs fishing rods, I use a glossy coated magazines to mix my epoxy so my brush can load easy and get alot,
Or if I need to roll a bunch of epoxy on the reel seat ferrel, then I can roll it on the magazine paper page, then I can just rip the page out of the magazine and crumble it up and no mess no fuss throw it away in the trash.
Fresh new page to be mixed on is waiting.
I also cut a bunch of alumiumn foils squares about 4x4 inch and single hole punch them if I need to extend the life of the epoxy I put it on the foil square on the magazine page then wad it up and throw it away.
Some excellent advice thank you 👍😷👍🏴
Thanks for a great class on each of your videos
I follow you and will comtinue to do so
Thanks

Thank you!
another great video, thanks for the tip, keep 'em coming.
Great information !!!
What are 5 to 10 must have color paints for beginners......
Will you show your cleaning process sometime? For example showing how you do color changes and then final cleaning.
Yes! Definitely want to do a video on that!
I’ll be looking forward to this video. I’ve never used an airbrush before and bought an iwata eclipse, so I need to know exactly how to care for it ;)
GREAT Video !! Thanks.
Zach that was some good info, thanks!!!!!
Good ideas brother.
I’m glad FYP on TikTok brought me here thanks for tips
We have the same technique of tooth picks..
Can't wait for more videos! Just got a lot paints, blanks, airbrush kit etc. 😁🤪 Mainly painting big pike jerks ALOT to practice. Make videos of pike/musky jerks too 😏🎣
Hi Joona, Looking to get into painting. What are your experiences with it in your first year? Fun, or way harder than anticipated?
good deal on Q tips at dollar tree!
Could you do a video on Chrome? Such as chrome blue back or black back. Thks
I have been watching your videos to learn some things about air brushing in general . I’m wanting to air brush my own soft plastic swim baits with water based paints . Do u happen to know any company other than lure works that sells true water based paints ? They don’t have a big selection in my opinion. Thanks for your time and videos.
Great video, very helpful! I'm wondering do you have a video about how to remove bubbles after spraying clear coat. I use acrylic clear paint, not sure if that makes a difference
you can add a little super glue to the heel of the brush to prevent lose bristles/ thanks for the Great Videos and tip/ I'm going tomorrow to pickup a 50 pack/tailgait party/
Good thinking!
How about playdoh, that way as long as you put it back in the container, you can use it again and again.
Would you ever consider painting a Megabass 175 I Slide for me? I have a few extra and really want a white mat shad pattern for the area I fish.
Have you considered a 3-D printer to build your own lure bodies?
Possible video in the future! My knowledge it little on 3D printing but my brother is well rounded it that area. We will probably work on a design here soon!
Hey Zach I'm having issues with my airbrush only dispensing paint on the trigger release any tips , appreciate it thanks
Me too!!!!!
How do you paint one lure at a time? Do you clean the airbrush after each coat?
Sure do, I try to make sure I’m only using a few drops of paint at a time to help keep down the waste 👍
I wish you had linked the items.
What clear coat do you use to finish your lures?
Hey John! I use Alumi-UV for my clear coat. 👍
Where do you get the stands that hold the lures to paint
They are called helping hands, Barlow’s Tackle has them. Local stores like Harbor Freight and some craft stores carry them too.
What product do you use for a clear coat?
What type of of cover u use to protect lips?
I just use normal masking tape or painters tape 👍
My airbrush is only spraying if I bring the trigger forward it shoots a spritz , Why !!
What airbrush or brand to you use?
Just saw the Affordable Airbrush kit video, question is do the nozzles/needles interchange with the Iwata Neo CN brushes, if not, do you know which one those airbrushes take?
Just starting out, what airbrush and compressor you recommend?
Here is a video on a starter kit that works pretty good! ua-cam.com/video/BI5kKKM-xag/v-deo.html

Amigo quisiera que se pudiera en el idioma español gracias. Todos miro
We're can a guy find that vice
They are called Helping Hands! Barlow’s Tackle has them. Also harbor freight 👌
@@BakerBuilds thank you vary much
👍
An Anvil and ball peen hammer for those really pesky projects that just wont turn out the way it's supposed too. (Safety glasses recommended)
Paints to thick 😉 think I got it .
Sometimes turning up the air pressure can help too!
@@BakerBuilds running at fourty , what's the highest you go
@@joshuamcgovern6803 I’m usually spraying around 40 as well. Thinning the paint and or checking the tiny tip that the needle goes through. Sometimes I get paint build up inside of that so I will let us soak in some cleaning solution and then push it out with a sewing needle.
My waterslide labels came apart , the cover sheet came away from the paper , ugh
Lure stands are 2 dollars on Amazon
Do you have a like? I would definitely give them a try for $2!
