      I understand your fustration here. My replacement only lasted a year before it ripped again. Same old issue that they replaced if for the first time but now it is not under warranty. I urge people to buy it on Amazon and to make sure and buy the 2-3 year protection plan. I even sprayed it for UV protection. My guess is they use the thinnest cloth they can because my tent has last for years with no spraying. My wife said we will buy another one also. Thanks for watching.

    I somehow set my Clam up inside out the first time. (It is a smaller model than yours.) Luckily, the website has a video about taking the side hub(s) apart, which was pretty easy as long as you don’t lose the nut that holds it together. I was doing this without help, so I needed to undo more than one hub to fix it by myself. It got dark while I was working on it, but it was still easily doable, just needed a light to find the pockets that the legs fit into.

    Stake it before you pull, it’ll make a huge difference. I don’t have this but I have a Gazelle, great quality but I wouldn’t replace a tent with it. This is a gazebo even though nowadays they try to advertise as a tent too. Thanks for the video.

      Thanks for watching. The pavillion could be used as a tent very easy if you didn't want to have both but the less expensive ones that just have velcro side pannels would not make a very good tent.

    • @jimbertrand2499
      @jimbertrand2499 Рік тому

      @@frankiethefrog1752 No real problems although due to its size you do need to stake out the side panels or wind will 'pop' them in. And I prop up my center at night so wind doesn't push the roof center down especially if it rains at night. Another friend has the Velcro base insert which works really nice to keep the enclosure dry and bug/varmint free.

    • @TignerAdventures
      @TignerAdventures  11 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for watching Alex. If the roof collapses then yes you will have a swimming pool if you just leave it down. If it is going to be a large down pour then it is best to just prop it up so you don't have that issue. We have been through some heavy rain and came out just fine. Good point though.

    I tied a few feet of paracord to each of the six loops so I don’t have to look/reach in the hole to find them. The cords are always dangling out waiting to be pulled, ready to go right out of the bag each time I set it up. Makes set up even quicker.

    Do you find this is good for shade? Another video I saw said it's a great solution for bugs but not shade, and we would like to use it as an alternative to an ez up as shade for camping

    • @TignerAdventures
      @TignerAdventures  Рік тому +1

      The pavilion has sides that zip down all the way around so that version which we show here gives you shade also. The cheaper versions may or may a couple sides or none at all depending on what you buy. But that version the sides velcro on so you can move the covers around to help block the sun out. I had an ezup before with no side panels and it was ok for shade at noon but that was about it. Also the wind destroyed it. This works nice in all cases. The link in the description shows you the difference between the pavilion and the other models. Thanks for asking and watching. Oh and one extra point they have finally come out with a new setup video that the link works on so that helps a lot in setting it up correctly.

    We just bought a clam gray explore. We used it only 3 times and the pole poked out of the heavy black sock at the end. Just like you mentioned. I contacted Clam and they said that they don't have any in stock until January. Did they have you fix it or did you repair it with the Gorilla tape? Thanks so much! Jennifer

    • @TignerAdventures
      @TignerAdventures  11 місяців тому +1

      Wow I'm surprised that happened so quick. I place gorilla tape on the bottom now to help. I hope when they start up production they will redesign that part. I sent you an email but basically. I used a speedy stitcher to sew it up and reinforce the bottom. I sent you a link but it is also listed on our site under recommendations if you don't have one yet. They are handy for a lot of things including fixing my boot souls. Hopefully Clam can take care of you when they start production again. I would stay on it with them though. They told me the same thing and then a few days later told me they found one. Thanks for watching and reaching out to us.

    Enjoyed your video so much that I’ve watched it twice. I had a question about your usage. I’m in Seattle and just bought a home. I was looking into possibly purchasing this Clam Pavilion gazebo to live in my backyard. Outside of summer we don’t get many hot days, however there’s a lot of rain. Do you think it would hold up year round?

      Thanks for watching Romulus. Worst case I would spray some water proofing on it if it starts to leak. You could have issues with moss also. I would buy it from Amazon and buy the 3 year warranty. The you are covered no matter what.

    Who in the hell wants to put up a thing like this, where you have to do that kind of huffing and puffing. Putting up a tent or this should not in anyway be a strenuous or stressful event. Have to wonder how many of these shelters are collecting cobwebs because people just don’t want to go through the hassle. l did order one, just had to try it myself. It will go back to Amazon in a heartbeat if l decide the setup is just to much to deal with.

      Lol, that’s because this guy didn’t know how to, you stake it first and it makes it very easy to open, afterwards you can move the stakes to tighten up to the correct tightness. I have 2 gazebos, a 5 and a 4 panel, I’m a 66 year old woman and do it all by myself all the time easily, great for camping, keeping bugs away, shade and my dogs contained. In fact the 4 panel one never leaves my car in the summer months to go picnicking on the mountain, the bigger one is for longer planned camping trips.
