That hug… 😢 Gets me every time!
Abso-fragging-lutely, me, too.
The gun Garibaldi is carrying in the dream sequence is the same one he had during the flash forward death vision on Babylon 4
Well, I do understand why Michael went this route. He couldn't deal with Bester. Bester messed with his head and it was too much.
The point is it's not as simple as 'just get your sh*t together' and that is what the storyline is showing us again, it did it with Franklin in season 3 and it's doing it again.
Seeing that glimpse of Garibaldi in season one (Survivors) come back in full force is brutal. The back end of season 5 is bittersweet.
Happily ever after, right? 😔
I always had a crush on Patricia Tallman, and other than Knightriders, she never looked better than when she was steaming G’Kar’s brain.
The hug...it makes me sad
Bow cheeky wow wow!
Yes, now we know, It was the Centauri.
All hail Lennier "King of the Simps!"
(14:15)
imagine if she knew that
you know, she's a telepath after all, a pretty damn good one.
Would love to see Lyta and Gkar make some little Lykars!!😂😂
Gary baldy on walkabout...
*Pleasure Threshold*
It wouldn't be B5 if it didn't have another twist to it.
Garibaldi's dream at the beginning was the trace of Kosh that was left in Garibaldi's mind when the Shadows killed Kosh. He left remnants of himself in the minds of all he considered to be allies or useful.
The first half is rough, though there are good things in it, just it needed a bit more work and I don't think they had they time production wise to work it all out
Not sure if there is evidence for it, but I like the theory that the first half was stuff that was meant to be brought in during S4 so when you get to the latter part of S5, things are back on right track because the show can get back to closing things off
I don’t think you have an issue getting invested in new characters. You got invested in Marcus, right? I just don’t think Lochley is a very good character. She was only introduced as an Ivanova substitute (while clearly given things to differentiate her).
But the real evidence is… Montoya! Only took a single episode for you to really like him and want more of him! (I’m betting you were DISAPPOINTED there wasn’t much more of him this season… right?)
They practically set Lochley up to fail. She already had to fill Susan’s shoes after a bad situation and then she walks in all business shitting all over how B5 is managed, it is indicated that she was an Earth loyalist, albeit one that probably didn’t get pushed to commit war crimes (although never confirmed) and they make her an immediate foil for Garibaldi and even Sheridan at times. Not a formula for fan acceptance. Later we get to see that she was a drugged out street rat, which allows you to admire how she’s turned herself around but that doesn’t mean we like her any more than before.
I don’t dislike Lochley anymore than I generally dislike Season 5. I know it has nothing to do with Tracey Scoggins, who had a fairly active career prior to this. I just think the combination of how she ended up on the show and how they utilized her did not work in her favor.
Fair
Great that you were able to suffer through the awful Byron plotline and then rediscover your enthusiasm for the show once that nonsense was over. Back on the original TV run I had friends that simply gave up during early S5 and never returned :( I'd love to see a recut S5 where the entire Byron plotline just gets removed lol
I think an edited version of the Byron storyline which makes it 1/2 as long would work
REMEMBER BYRON!!!
Guy literally thinks that spying on multiple different races is not a big ask...
The telepaths have done worse. Lyta herself will do worse.
They did it for Byron also.
The season 1 G'Kar would have probably asked Lyta to spy. From Dust to Dust onwards, not a chance.
season 5 has an absolutely turgid start but the back half of the season is as good as any of the rest of the show.
If you ever want more things to watch there is a series called "Blake's 7" that you might enjoy.
It's on my list.
