Run LED and HPS together. That's what I do. The plants grew better when i introduced a LED to run alongside the HPS. Doesn't have to be an expensive LED either, just a garden variety Qboard works perfect ... but it helps balance out the spectrum . Best of both worlds. You can thank me later 😂😂😂
I've never done it but whenever I see hybrid grows (led+hps) the buds look amazing, better than anything else, I think you might be on to something........

Used hps for the last 20 years. For the first time I used one 720w to replace one 600hps. I have the led next to my hps. Same clones throughout. The led side has a good turp profile, good consistent canopy. The hps side has monster rods closest to the light, but drops off further out. The led side finishing quicker. The hps side gets a bit stretchy. Led more compact. Hps is a bit more dank, but bag appeal is great for both. IMO if the led lasts 3 years it would be worth the money. Yet to see. Still on the fence but not disappointed with the results.
@cliffp73 The room size is 4 metres by 2.8 metres with a hight of 3 metres. I used to grow in tent with the hps only, and heat was always a challenge. The led light are perfect for grow tents. The led was on sale because it was 2020 stock. Apparently the latest LED's are more efficient.

No, YOURE wrong. Because you didn’t watch the video you commented on. 😂 he’s speaking on smoke, not grow. Real smokers want QUALITY SMOKE not bigger yields & cheaper light bills. Fuck your light bill, the weed is not as good as it used to be before all the LED bs
@nemesis8626 my led crop is consistently better than the HPS. Denser. And heavier yield. HPS is frostier by a little bit. And these are 645W led vs 1000w hps. I can't imagine what 1000w led would do. Guess we'll find out since I got them ordered now.
All these growers are just talking about yield and cost when they say LED is better. What about the actual quality?? And not visual quality, the SMOKE. If LED yields more & looks better, it makes sense for it to smoke worse! LED is like cooking with a microwave compared to HPS cooking with an oven or stove top. Sure the microwave is faster & stronger but the food fuckin blows comparatively
Tim is 100% right, punches landed/compubox numbers mean very little when it comes to professional scoring, what counts is clean powerful punches that effect your opponent. Big difference. Tapping your opponent with a jab that you’re not even sitting down on is not enough to win rounds at the professional level
If you can get a 8x4 , run 1 aircooled 1000w on a light rail for the cheapest running costs but maximum yield 4 pounds using the coliseum technique . 4x4 ,1 600w , 5x5 ,1 1000w aircooled hood and exchange the air with a inline . Not sure why he thinks dehumidification would double. it should be the same and you run LEDs at 82 F to compensate for the lack of UV to create a leaf surface temperature of 75f. The bottom line is the amount of usable light by the plants per watt produced from HPS or mh compared to LED is totally different. An 1100 watt de HPS produces the same ppfd of light at the canapoy as a 600 watt LED with the proper spectrum. Also, there is an additional savings on needing less AC since plants under LED like a warmer temperature. Most LEDs can also be dimmed without affecting spectrum so the LED can be ran closer to the plants at lower power, saving even more money in a vegetative stage. Any difference in (dankness) should be associated with the spectrum of light and how it affects cannabis differently. This is being studied extensively currently.
@@racerdude7149 there is all kinds of information on cannabis leaf temperature in flowering these days. It’s better to run slightly higher than 75 Fahrenheit with no UV light emitted from LEDs at around 80-82f. If he’s running HPS and or MH 75F is the ideal temperature for leaf transpiration. In my opinion the most important part is DLI, which is how much PPFD of light your plant receives daily. This and genetics are the most important aspects of growing imo.
