Hey folks. This fix is still holding after more than a month. Not a drop of oil leaking. Let us know if it works for you, or if you had to try something more extreme. 👍

Hi - we have this exact problem. I’ll try it - you were going to list the parts and where you got them?

Hi i am from Tasmania and viewed your video. I did the same fix to my grandsons ttr 50 thanks to you. It worked out fine. How did the Tusk shifter work out as i am thinking about trying to get one or similar as it is a bit longer and may make shifting a bit easier(the little guy struggles as it is a bit hard to shift) Cheers

    Awesome video. Thank you!
You mentioned shifter was hard to move. I also have brought my kids a ttr50, and they are having the same problem. Is there anything I can do to make it easier. Read on a column that I could adjust the clutch. Is this correct? Thanks in advance!!

Glad it helped... not sure the clutch adjustment would help. These shifters are generally harder than a manual clutch bike because the lever operates both the gear shift and the clutch. My kids just ride in 2nd or 3rd gear all the time. At least until they get strong enough to shift while riding.

Great vid. I just bought s used bike and I noticed the oil leak and bent shifter but didn't think about the shaft being bent. Also made me feel a lil better about the stiffness of the shifter changing gears. Way stiffer than my manual trans pitbike.

Would this also apply to the xr series of bikes

It should be very similar on any direct attached shift shaft bike. I believe the old XR's are a direct shaft. Just have to get the right seal for your bike. Some bikes, like the Yamaha XT250 have a, indirect connection shifter [not sure the proper name], and that would be different.

@@adigaarmory thanks and how would I be able to tell if it was bent without ripping apart the bike?

i just bended the shaft back to straight by hand force , should i be replacing it , or continue using it while it works

Do you think this would work on a Harley?
