Just going to throw in some positive 2 cents for professional and DIY your better off to spend the extra $$$ to get a higher end primer that fills and levels with way less shrinkage and cause you less sanding
Appreciate that info. I used high end polyester primer on a 61 I painted before this truck and plan to use it on my lightning because of how great it worked on the 61 vette. This primer is a filler type primer but Im trying to get a lazer straight paint job. I shot a second coat on and sanded the truck with 400. Now Im going to 2k primer it, sand with 600 then put a pearl white paint job on it if the weather permits it.
@blakewilliams9642 I'm spraying Sherwin Williams they have a DTM primer that can also be used as a sealer you can spray it with a 1.3-1.5 tip and if everything is right you can get away with 4 coats and they have 3 colors the black I think is SU 523
@@rongamble9884 never used sherwin williams. The polyester Im going to use is superbuild by evercoat. I got to do a studebaker after these two trucks so maybe I'll look into that Sherwin Williams.. is their a part # or specific name on the one you are speaking about?
