Just eclipsed 250,000 miles on my 2013 Toyota Sienna Limited AWD. Still runs like news. Toyota, best vehicle manufacturer on the planet.

I have the 2018 Highlander limited with Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires and just drove thru the blizzard of Jan 29 2022 and did not get stuck or slide while driving on partially plowed roads and highways. Drove below 30mph on the highway and slowly on regular roads. Felt secure on the road

Thanks, Rob! Just what I needed to see. I had an '08 Highlander, bought 2 Subie Outbacks in succession after that, and missed the bigger, quieter, more powerful Toyota Highlander. I considered going back to one, but wasn't sure it was up to the snow handling capabilities of the Subies, which are awesome. After watching your analysis, I have felt better about coming back to Toyota. 4Runners and such might have 4x4, but they drive like tanks once you lock them into that mode. AWD is so much better: I'm not a forest ranger; I drive on highways and interstates. But I still need to get up the long, uphill driveway on my central PA farm. It's the hardest part of a snowy day, believe me. And the Highlander is up to the job. Then when I get on the highway, I want a smooth, quiet ride with the power of a V6. I'm an Apple fan since the 90's, but I don't miss Apple Play. I drive. I listen to music. I navigate. It's enough. Keep your eyes on the road and pay attention.

Actually the third row is really comfortable. Literally all you have to do is move the middle seats forward and everyone will enjoy a comfortable seat. I know this because I own this car btw.

Thanks for your help. I wanted to know what the SNOW button was as compared to the all wheel drive. I think you educated me. Thanks again!

Dude you talked about the USB feature but yet ignored the button that appeared to display the center locking dif. I would think most people are interested in the all wheel drive system in such a snowy condition... Yes?

Can we expect the hybrid '17 highlander to be just as capable with the electric motor in the rear and no driveshaft from the front? Overall can we expect the hybrid model to function well in cold conditions(in terms of battery system etc)?

The Highlander has Toyota's D4-S V6 engine with both Direct and Multi-Port Injection, eliminating the intake valve carbon build up problems, inherent in Direct Injection only engines.

I like to see dual exhausts in the back . That gives the car a good look.
