That intro sequencer.. nice leads.. squelchy bass lines.. beautiful ambients… this Korg truly is so versatile I never understood how it got so under appreciated?
I own a few Moogs, a roland and an alesis and yet this synth is peaking my interest on its versatility. I run my synths through an effect rack of separate effects so I wonder how much more in depth this synth can go with that..
Lovely demo and excellent video showcasing its sounds. I’m just curious why this synth isn’t as popular as it should be??!

Thank you for kind words!! In my opinion, the Korg Minilogue was once very popular, but some time has passed since its premiere. It is an extremely versatile instrument. Probably the best value for money. From my point of view, it's a pity that it has small keys and 4-voice polyphony, but it's a great synthesizer, a mine of ideas and sonic possibilities.

@@MrCard That’s what I’m thinking too. The year and how technology just keeps growing in such insane rates but I think it also goes with attention span. I’m pretty old school myself and with something as simple as a Roland Sh101 I can spend weeks discovering a sound I really want and get lost in it. Same with my Alesis.
I saw someone selling one for 250$ and swore it was damaged or something until I saw the MSRP was around 300-400 so I’m super impressed. Yeah I can hear where people talk about it’s weak points but knowing it’s weaknesses ahead of time can truly blossom it’s strengths and prevent that “expectation failure”.
But for All that sound synthesis and truly a “master of none but jack of all trades” I think it’s worth every penny. For I learned… the only limitation is our mind. I made the Roland become something out of this world and it’s very “limited” and was a “failure” in the 80’s. I feel with enough love and experimenting the Minilogue can stand against time itself. I’m a def have to get this Korg thanks to you haha. I’ll have to let you know how it goes!
But yes seriously great video! You have any tips for that motion sequencer? Lmaoo

The motion sequencer is intuitive, you can add interesting elements while playing the sequence. You are limited only by your imagination! ;)

@@MrCardyes… so I got the minilogue on Saturday haha. Couldn’t put it down. Instantly became my favorite go to for jams and sounds. The sequencer … is bonkers! I got some drippy Shponglesque squelch sounds and the arps are luscious. The fact too you can tweak and save that preset… as a preset is something I know will come in handy to load a sound I need ASAP. But even the slow patient game… I spent 7 hours with in… and forgot about water, food and outside world. That’s a powerful thing. Makes me want to sell my last Moog and get the ms 20 (OG with the good circuits) now for its clear Korg does what I think I like in some facet of sound synthesis. I heard this one running IN the ms 20 and was just insane lol. But nonetheless… I want to fully extend to you brotha and thank you for this demo. You made me take the leap into the cosmic ocean of sounds and I love every moment. I’ve been searching for a synth like this, maybe for it’s like myself, not really “good” or “masterful” at anything.. but not afraid to push a boundary and explore a creative itch. It compliments my mind very well 😂🥰
I also didn’t know it needed an update.. that’s the only flaw I will say with Korg is their drivers on windows (I had to deal with it on my Korg kross lol)
It was abysmal to get the midi driver to accept the software for my midi channels were capped to like 22 and I read in the manual the minilogue needs 1-9 open to be able to update so I just used my Mac to update it to 2.1)
And I can say.. the fact they push changes and updates people asked for .. even it being 8 years later impressed me a lot :)
Anyways.. don’t want to rant or spam too much time. I love this synth and thanks to you and your demo it made me find a home for one in my stew ❤🤪☺️🫠🙏

@@MrCard to go off this with korgs. You ever mess with the Ms-20 mini or the Ms-20 OG with the mk2 filter?
Trying to see their actual differences from experience. Or mainly which one would component this minilogue well.

Hi, tnks for the video. U know if you can connect the synth to the PC and aplied the effects from the daw while you are playing?

Can you loop on this? Or can you record and playback infinitely?

    • @MrCard
      @MrCard  11 місяців тому +1

What do you mean exactly? The sequencer constantly plays the steps, so they are looped and can add further elements.

@@MrCard that answered it! I wanted to use this for live music playing so wanted some synth elements in the back while I play other instruments thank you!
