With the most recent firmware update (like what, two years ago?) it will show you the original setting of each knob and switch. It can take a lot of looking (and possibly menu diving) to figure out what all the settings are, but an asterisk will display next to the numbers onscreen when you hit the original value. I haven't done it myself because it seems tedious and I can usually figure most of it out, but I've used that to puzzle out parts of patches that I couldn't tell by listening. Could be helpful for you.
So I'm going to be getting aXD and I want some nice ambient patches I know this is a old thread but is this still around and how difficult is it to download?

Another great modification besides the knobs is to get black (they are color coded to size) thread protectors for the toggle switches. It looks great (black on black color scheme) and serves some practical purposes as well such as how the switch feels on your fingertips, more stable motion of switch (eliminates any horizontal movement) and therefor protects them for long term use :)
@@JayaLove you can get the thread protectors at any ace hardware store or pretty much any hardware store. Black is the only size that fits. The feel of the switches are improved with this modification as well. They’re very inexpensive as well.
I bought this pack and I’m so happy I did! They’re some of my go-to presets. And helped start a few of my synthwave projects. Awesome vintage sounds to just pnp. Also great starting points to build new patches from. Thank you so much for making these! Also, your demo video was incredibly helpful.
4:40 turn off portamento on that bass and it would highly resemble the bass in some Analord tracks plus some Analogue bubble bath, I forgot the names of the tracks it reminds me of I unfortunately.
That a big difference in price... The Minilogue XD uses four separate analogue circuits (as seen in photos) while the Juno X uses one special processor to render the voices by calculating them...like a VST synth. That particular Roland synth doesn't sound bad (like the Gaia 2) so it's not easy to decide. Maybe you should look for a used Minilogue XD.
And I thought i am a good Patch Programmer 😅 and then there is this sound from Oberheim, Prophet 5 Ect sounds all with this 2 Pole Filter. Stunming work!!
Hi I was wondering how many of these rely on user oscillators versus how many rely on built in analog oscillators. I'm just curious how easy it is to make these sorts of sounds without having to program an oscillator.

Chord changes over a pedal note with a snappy sawtooth polysynth sound was a rather common resource back then. Check out Jean Michel Jarre's "Orient Express" from The Concerts in China for a good example.
Great patches. I've purchased and downloaded them, but am having a real problem installing them on the Minilogue xd. The librarian app is nasty! Any chance of a video, on how to do an install? Managed to get the Wave oscillator and two choruses installed, along with one patch, but in the process wiped all the preset patches...Thank God for factory reset!
Yes, got the reset, no problem. The problem is, that when I try to install the patches, they all go to slot one and only he last one that was installed works. I had no problem with the two choruses. The information, on how to install sound packs, on the Korg website and in the owner's manual is a bit sparse, so I'm really struggling to get the patches installed :-/
@@thestonmichaeljones4724 When you "install" a patch, in fact it goes to a temporary slot. When it's in this temporary slot, WRITE it to a free slot you want on your XD. Yes, it's true that the librarian is a bit tricky...

Hi man i bought all your packs & can't wait to play them but I'm having trouble installing the user mod fx. I drag & drop them on the sound librarian & send them.. but can't seem to find them on the XD
Push-Pull well I think I did but when i’m scrolling through the fx I don’t see them. ( on the xd ) on the software i drag & dropped everything on the spot like the readme file says.

I don’t own the freak but I do own this. Aside from the keybed it’s very sturdily built. It’s also very versatile. It’s not great for super wide sounding string sounds. I’m wondering if OP has used any external processing to get a wider sound. Maybe it’s just my aging ears 😂
@@KBizzy it depends on what you're running it through - massively - . Headphones directly through the output or a basic powered mixer will never sound as good as through say, a 120w Trace Elliot amp with a good speaker. That said he could have had simply added a bit of reverb or gain, or just tweaked the settings on the synth to sound bigger through a better understanding of the instrument. Edit: He said it's straight from the instrument with no post processing. So it could still be running through an amp, and taking the DI from that, but he suggests it is DI'd straight from the synth. The small % tweaks make a big difference to the overall sound.
used minilogue xd is what I chose. Lovin it. Reason I got it is because I already get a lot of option paralysis and theres just more than I need on the minifreak, plus the analog warmth of the xd is real!
Got the patches... AWESOME SOUNDS!!! I'm beginning on the XD.... when I open the folder and double click on an individual patch, I can play it on the XD... how do I get all the patches to appear in my preset list in the Librarian? Thanks.
Thank for your comment, Steve ! When a patch is loaded in the buffer memory of the XD, you have to write it at the slot you want. Ok, it's longer, but you can write them exactly where you want and in the order you want. 😎
Don't use the Korg driver when you've installed a newer iOS (Catalina and onward I think). The Mac's standard drivers will work just fine. If you already installed the Korg driver, uninstall it and try again. No problems here whatsoever with Big Sur.
- Just purchased this and the Ultimate patches for my new XD because I don't mind paying £5, and this is just my taste but I wouldn't swap the black knobs for those red ones.
Hi have the patches copied to the XD now and I have added the mod fx to librarian but how do I make sure the correct mod is applied to each patch? Do I need to change it manually on each patch?
Hi, the mod fx settings are stored with every patches, like any other parameter. But just be careful to install the mod fxs in the correct slots ! All is in the pdf. 😎
I just got your patches. Really nice! Maybe you have any tipps regarding postprocessing the sampled patches in a DAW? Did you equalize or comporess the sounds in post in your DAW? Thank you in advance Alex

Hi Ryan, sorry but no chip or card to insert in the XD. The only way to transfer the patches is via usb with the Korg Librarian. Maybe with the computer of a friend ?
I've just bought your classic patches pack and after I have tried them, some of them sounds different in my Minilogue, I've also upload the MOD FX. I have to say than i'm new with the Minilogue. Mod FX are selected auomatically when you choose the program? For example Jupiter sounds really different. I don't know what I'm doing wrong :S
Hi ! 😎 In fact for each patch, the XD only knows wich user slot number to load. But doesn't know what you have installed in the slot. That's why the pdf provided in the pack tell you WHERE install the user mod FX. If you've already installed something in the slots 1 and 2, you can install the mod FX needed where you want BUT you'll have to edit the patches to call the right algorithm. In the pdf you have a table telling you wich patch calling wich FX.

you could probably get pretty close, but it looks like he is using the Multi-Engine on the XD for a lot of these. I doubt they could be used on the original minilogue.

The factory reset procedure (and its options) is explained on page 47 of the owner's manual. ;-)

@@gillesd855 Normaly on the XD a new folder named USER is created in the MOD section. Then you can choose your FX via SHIFT+SELECT.

No, it's automatic: the patch knows wich FX to use, internal or User. You can try with the "Crumar" patch: it uses the Buckets Mod FX. :-)

If you've already installed something in the slots 1 and 2, you can install the mod FX needed where you want BUT you'll have to edit the patches to call the right algorithm. In the pdf you have a table telling you wich patch calling wich FX.

you could probably get pretty close, but it looks like he is using the Multi-Engine on the XD for a lot of these. I doubt they could be used on the original minilogue.
