To anyone wishing there were extra LFOs - it has 4 lanes of motion sequencing. Just wiggle whatever control(s) (filter, pitch, shape etc) at the speed you want. Not a perfect solution but it does the job
Waited for this one since i heard of the upcomin Minilogue XD. This team is an absolut UNIT. Appreciate your videos. Literally the only „long“ vids i watch on Yt. Keep up the good work. Much love from Germany.
Ja, die fetzen die beiden! Aber der XD ist auch ein Monster. Unglaublich, wie gut das Ding klingt! Der rohe Klang allein ist fett. Kann es sein, das der noch besser klingt, als der große Logue?
Tristan Theuerkorn Heared similar comments before. I dont know if one can judge by comparing youtube videos about the two synths. Guess you have to try these in store. Haptic feel of prologue compared to Minilogue is on another level. Personally i dont like the plasticy feel of the bottom part of the Minilogue/Monologue series, but of course its another price class then the big boy Prologue.
This is really helpful. Just got the Minilogue xd as my first synth after playing around with my friend's Moog Matriarch. I love the sound and keys on the Matriarch, but this has a much better value for a beginner imho. The visuals really help with knowing what I'm doing, or not doing.
I am in the US, and I got one of these last week. It has a lot of power and sounds great. I already downloaded a couple of program packs for it and made a few patches of my own. I am looking to get the Minilogue XD Module now in order to get an 8-voice machine version of this. Great stuff here, guys - always a pleasure watching the videos.
These guys are so enjoyable! Especially the faces from Jack are so funny sometimes. Great to watch them both and to hear the XD! This synth is an only sweetspot! Greetings from Germany!
Mine is on order at a place I use often. I think I missed the first batch and am dying to get my hands on it. It will pretty much be the final piece of kit i'll be purchasing for a while. Went a little spend crazy this past year. Not much else i need or i'll just be buying different brands of the same type of instrument. I've never had a hard synth, only a midi keyboard so i'm excited.
waaaaa ... can't wait for the module!!.. but you just rocking the keyboard version like that makes me wanna just get it with keybed even though i don't have the space :D
@@davidfaustino4476 well, that's a sad outlook! There's heaps more things they could add! Perhaps aftertouch? That's one of the things holding me back. Maybe improve the already pretty decent effects by adding in a real spring reverb? An extra octave? Maybe a coffee warmer? The point is, the minilogue wasn't all that old and got a XD treatment, so why not the prologue, heaps of upgrades they can consider. I just feel one on the horizon I guess.
Get the XD module and get 2 of them and slave one to the other for 8 voices! Works great. Though if you have the space the Korg Prologue with 16 voices may be your best value. This synth is underated imo. 2 analog osc and 1 digital can be combined to create quite a few timbres. Still, the 2 modules in master and slave modes is a space saver to create an 8 voice analog synth.
Huck that was my first thought as well, though the prologue is missing the step sequencer. The minilogue is very inviting with everything it has. I just wish it had like at least 6 voices.
@Rhizosphere havent used this, but my fear would be that it is less direct/intuitive. The XD looks real intuitive and quickly programmable. And also easy to sequence 4 motion parameters and polyphonic sequencing.
This drum sounds and pattern that Luke played in the end of the video are sick. I would by this only because of them. Not only of course but it's really great. Can you tell me are these like a factory preset or Luke patched them for the demo? Thanks for your fun and informative demos.

I really cant make up my mind between this or the hydrasynth explorer. but due to the sequencer this has the edge at the moment. I am new to synth and dont use computers so what reasonably priced sequencer would you recommend so I could start being really creative with the XD or the hydrasynth?
I'm deciding between buying a minilogue XD and a Prologue 8, I love the minilogue but I have an issue with there only being 4 voices. I'm torn because i'm sure i'm going to delve deeper into synths overtime, so i'd much rather spend more to get more features/a better synth overall. Does anyone have any opinion on whether the prologue is worth buying it over the XD? Thanks a lot!
Its one product where theres some benefits to both and many wish they'd have gone a bit larger with prologue and covered those gaps better like a flagship should. XD is very clearly the modular choice and its a feature in many setups. Combined with other things and pushed to less of an extreme not everyone has the issue with voicing and can appreciate the sound, the sequencing and connectivity. But thats a certain type of player. Prologue I see as totally unique to itself. People comparing specs will look at other brands and stall on basic omissions like aftertouch et al and thats fair -until you weigh in just how great prologue sounds. Thats its catch point. It sounds so good that its almost enough alone. Thing is that because of the few feature limitations vs what you can get when you go bigger, I took 8 voices to be a question mark. If you are leaping up to prologue and losing the features of minilogue as well as the larger footprint; is it worth it. And thats how I ended up with prologue-16. The sonic power and custom oscillators are insane. The compressor will rip your head off. And that does make it clearly worthwhile. You'll find dozens of reviews saying the same. Its a difficult gig compared to the digital craze now. As the new synths like Hydra, have similar low voices sometimes or a lack of multimbre - but the feature depth and ease of use is crushing in value. They simply define themselves so well; its not even a debate and easy to select what you need. Sonically speaking both of the korgs won't disappoint you. As a keys player I also needed a pro over a mini, for obvious reasons aside voicing. So if you consider how each might fit in a wider set up you'll have less issue deciding between them.

Seriously struggling to pick a polysynth to complete my set-up (no seriously). This really looks great... Packed full of features, and a good price point for someone that's still really a novice like me. Sonically though I don't think it tickles the right spots for me. I want something that's lush and deep sounding, the Minilogue comes across as a little cold and metallic, (OG did in the flesh anyway). Torn between Minilogue XD/Prophet Rev2 the workflow and the directness of the interface looks great.
