This winter here in North Carolina has been a TOUGH one as far as the fishing goes. With more cooler temps and rain than usual a lot of our waters are high and dirty which is something you don't want during the winter months. So after spending several days fishing the lakes in the Raleigh area with nothing to show for it I decided to head south east to see how the fishing is down there and after getting a few comments and messages from some people that are more familiar with that area of NC and how it fishes during the winter I became aware of the striped bass fishing in the Cape Fear. So I decided to give it a try and it was definitely worth it and I'll be keeping in mind for the future winter seasons to come!

Not sure where your from but your not far from the ocean from where you put in. There is some big cats in there to. Fishing has been different there in the last few years at least for me anyway. Not sure if it’s timing or temperature. Great video bud

Cool to see striper action in the Cape Fear. Your experience is similar to what weve run into on the Roanoke, you go long periods of time looking for them without a bit, and then BOOM you find em. Great vid as always man, keep it up

As I said before, if you are ever up in the Potomac area I would love to fish! Largemouth fishing is pretty good but if you have any interest at all in catching snakehead it's super fun fishing and they are plentiful up here when the water warms.

Watching this while eating my breakfast haha! Just love these. Getting about time again. Have you tried around Love Grove Park Dam? Top of tide to right when it starts to drop is killer. Lots of Hangups but worth it. If you need slower presentation try a white trick worm Texas no weight on light braid. Good luck this fall/winter

You must not be from around here if you never heard about the striper fishing it is money during the colder months my biggest is 31 lbs out of the Cape fear slow trolling 5 inch storm minnows and we keep one bigger deeper bait in the spread troll the sea wall rite beside downtown I will be out there tmrw looking for some reds
