    Nice work! Got to love the deep bronze colors of these brackish water Reds.

    You're doing a great job! Public fishing areas are never really hidden most of the time. Over the years someone has fished that special spot you thought only you know about. There is no preventing people from fishing public areas anyway. Besides....enjoy and try to teach others to preserve the area which you yourself enjoy because that's the most anyone can do when it comes to those hidden spots. There will always be people who abuse the privilege we all enjoy. Some of the best fishing I saw from classic videos by Bill Dance and Roland Martin were places and lures they taught us all how to use on television. Because of them I try to teach through my own videos. Keep up the good work.

    Fantastic! Used to fish those same spots and the Brunswick up to the bridge when I lived downtown from 03' - 16'...I threw nothing, but Rat-l-traps and fat 6" curly tail grubs and was very productive 90% of the time. Something about the Rat-l-traps around laydowns and stumps. Fished the canals this past December on a very windy day and only caught 3 Reds on a deep point before the entrance of the canals if you know where I mean. They were stacked, but keeping a bite hooked was an issue. Take care

    Fun video. Want to chase some reds but haven’t worked up the nerve to put my bass boat in saltwater. I’d ignore the comments about giving out location. If someone doesn’t already know there are redfish around Wilmington they’re not going to be heading out there anyway. lol.

      Been wanting to try out the bass fishing there… I’m running a 24v 80lb thrust Minn Kota terrova, lv34 garmin livescope with a garmin 106sv unit powered by a amped outdoors 14.8v 48 ah lithium battery. I have been extremely pleased with everything, only thing I may would change if I could go back would be to spend the extra money and get an ultrex. Just depends on how much you are wanting to spend…everything has got me by to do a little bit of everything so I have been happy with it

      @@tomroper9867 i prefer a 7ft MH- fast action tip… that one in particular is an ark rod - Cobb series. If you aren’t fishing in tight spots maybe even a 7’3” would be good. Reel is an old chronarch with 17 lb seugar invisx but anything with around a 7:3:1 gear ratio would work just fine!

    I have done very well with spinnerbaits for reds in the river. Usually stay south once it warms up, but reds in dirty water love those things.
    Question - do you feel there is an advantage to having a spinner bait with two spoons on it vs one? Might not sink as well as one but would likely create more flash/vibration

    • @easternoutdoors910
      @easternoutdoors910  3 місяці тому

      @@jmnorris50 funny you ask that, I was going to do a separate video on it… I am 100% convinced now after a month the double blade gets more bites. I’ve ran both and like you said I guess the flash/ vibration is better. I mainly bass fish so I’ve tried a handful of different brands and so far a war eagle spinnerbait holds up the best (normally get 15-20 drum before the wire breaks) still trying to find a double blade that is as durable as the redfish magic
