  • Which Brand Makes The Best Detailing Products. This video may ruffle some feathers. It was not my intention to make this video. I DON’T CLAIM TO BE THE BEST DETAILER IN THE WORLD AND I NEVER WILL! I just make content showcasing my detailing journey and experiences if people enjoy the content and love my detailing techniques that’s all that matters. Have fun detailing!!! That’s the purpose of my channel.
    For the last couple of months I’ve been getting asked what brand I prefer or what brand should a starting detailer start with. Which brand line up is the simplest. Or Even what brand makes the best Iron Remover Or Soap than all the other brands so you can build your own detailing line up. So on and so forth. The channel has grown significantly since my earlier videos. I thank all of you but now I want to summarize my thoughts and experiences with chemicals and brands. They all make quality chemicals and some work better than other based on the conditions you are in!
    Hopefully this video answers your questions. This is no ill will on a detailing brands out there just stuff that I have recently used and overall thoughts on the chemicals comparing to other brands which are my favorite!!! I do not claim to have used every single product from every brand known to man! Of course I only speak on here based on my experiences and my detailing journey now going onto 9 years officially. When I mean detailing I mean starting to take care of my car and becoming an enthusiast/weekend warrior using products and watching tutorials.

    I know a couple of people are upset. You just let the industry and us know that they all practically do the same job. People after this video will talk their crap about you. Keep pushing it forward. The honest and transparency is why I watch you!!!!!! Everyone talks about P&S and I feel the exact same way you do about as well with other brands. I enjoy using 303, Meguiars some P&S and now a little of DIY I’ve added to my arsenal. I’m a weekend warrior. The products you’ve mentioned all has their pros and cons. Definitely some are more versatile than others. You’ve named nothing but top quality and top of the line products. Keep it up SOC

      For sure my brother. That wasn't the intentions but to be blunt most of the detailing products that are out do a great job. Just some are easier to work with others and some easier to work in a variety of weather conditions. Others are geared for the hobbyist with a garage to detail. I'm super glad you enjoyed the transparency and honesty of the videos. You have a great mixture of products yourself 😅. Goes to show not one brand is the perfect brand but you said you enjoy 303 the most which is another fantastic and reputable brand. Thank you again for tuning in 💪💪💪🫡

    Appreciate the shout out. I completely agree. There are so many products and it comes down to what works for that person. Most product sin general work and brands can not afford to have a bad performing product.

      Anytime. The shoutout is Geniune and I know I missed other content creators but doing it on the fly you are one of those who stood out. Exactly it’s what works for the end user and you said it now and days companies can’t suck now and days. Those that come out to the market and don’t perform. It’s just a huge wave and influx of sales and they will die down quickly. Yes some products will do better than others but depends what characteristics you are looking for. 💪 I appreciate you watching

    One of your very best videos loaded with great information. The way you talk about the pros and cons of each product is really helpful. Exactly John! we have a variety of detailers from the shop, mobile, driveway detailer, multi climatic detailer depending if you’re up north and so on. No company comes out to be awful. Just some work better on others as they are trying to market the masses.

    Good info. I’m always on the lookout for the “best” products. But everyone’s environment is different. I’ve moved to rinse less washing on my vehicle. I’ve tried ONR, Wolfgang, Kotch RRW, and I just ordered Hero. The more I watch DIY details, the more I want to try everything they make. I can’t just have one. 😂 Now for interiors, I still have a gallon of Xpress, but I find it can leave some residue, So I just wipe it down with whatever rinse less I’m using, it’s never dirty.

      Thank you my brother 💪. Glad you enjoyed the information. Yes rinseless washes is such an effective and easy way to maintain your vehicle for sure. I know the feeling 😂. I've practically tried every single rinseless out there myself!!. Some rinseless react different for certain temperatures.
      Yeah express leaves a tad bit of residue if you use it straight. I've used mines diluted 1:1 if I need a bit of cut I go to rinseless as well. 💪😅

    Nice video that captured what many detailers often wonder about "what's the best" at this & that. Your answer is perfect. There are so many that you have to decide what's best for you. If you like a product, performs well and is economical then stick with it until it's gone. Then try something new if you want. There will always be new products coming out so try what you want and don't stress over it.

      All brands you mentioned are reputable in the industry. Some of course works better than others and have better testing. P and S are good. Chemical guys like you said a small niche of things are great. It's just every 3 months they have a new product. They are more of a marketing brand that's how I feel. But they do have stuff that works great. Invisible, lightning fast, VRP, Mr Pink, C4 and P4 and that's about it really for me. Koch chemie is definitely a top brand haven't used much of their stuff but my fellow detailers use them religiously and I've played with some of their stuff it's fantastic. But too many products in their line up in terms of tiers everything is basic, stronger, strongest.

    @DiamondShineDetail 2 місяці тому +1

    I see videos all the time, "what is the best ceramic?" "what is the best snow foam?" The best products are what works best for the individual detailer and makes their customers the happiest...its the detailer that makes the product do it's thing using the proper techniques for the environment. I personally use exclusively DIY Detail's line of products because thats what works best for how I detail, and what I and my customers expect from a finished vehicle. As far as what's safe for direct sunlight, its not what you use, it's HOW you use it. Same with working in a garage/shop. Experience is the #1 determining factor in what works. Every product can work in any environment if the person using them knows what they are doing to make it work.

    Hi there Soc, great vid, if I can advice on one thing is that I think you need to Amp up your volume on the rec, it's kinda low :) Otherwise a cool informative one as usual! About products I don't see Gyeon love here and I wonder why, I used them outside and they work fine, but I guess Thats subjective, and my input on mohs is to apply it without skin (skin sucks and is super tacky and dissappears too fast to be a durable top coat and is a pain to work with generally) it flashes fast but when I work with coatings I do panel by panel and Mohs on its own Is a pleasure to work with outside or inside, you can layer it (but you don't need to) it goes on thick but wiping it is super easy, and destroys most of the coatings in terms of durability, one thing people complain is that it's clogging fast, didn't see that personally but.. Cheers dude!

    Appreciate the honesty, but you highlighted the issue with ceramic coatings. If you wash your car once every 2 months, it should still work. You shouldn't HAVE to do shit tons of work to make something last that's supposed to be a good product. Btw, yes, knock waterless washes that aren't dilutable. It's freaking stupid to pay 15 bucks on a bottle that you'll get 2 uses from. Then they charge $$$ for a gallon. At least P&S has gallons for a reasonable price. (Just ordered the Maniac to try)

    • @DetailingMadeSimple
      @DetailingMadeSimple  5 місяців тому +1

      For sure. But at the end of the day neglect is neglect. No two people lives are the same on how they care for their coatings. Same way two people can buy the same exact vehicle and models and years. In 2 months you have 2,000 miles and did your oil change the other can have 5,000 and hasn’t done an oil change. One will wear down quicker. The key point is maintenance. Ease of cleaning, and longer durable protection.

    What's the difference between pH neutral and pH balanced? Balanced in relation to what?

    • @DetailingMadeSimple
      @DetailingMadeSimple  6 місяців тому +2

      PH and Cleaning abilities. Of 90% of PH neutral and balanced chemicals I can go down the rabbit hole. But balanced soaps cleans a lot better than neutral soaps in terms of traffic film and cleaning especially in direct sunlight. As PH balanced soaps are not PH Nuetral "7PH" they are around 8 or 8.5 rare instances 9ph depending on the brand and soap. These slightly more alkaline soap help clean more the paint and grime better than a PH Nuetral soap.

      @@DetailingMadeSimpleok so you're saying 8 - 8.5 on the pH scale is considered balanced? What about a "balanced" pH soap at 9-11ph?. That's not balanced either? When does the "balanced" scale become alkaline based?

    • @DetailingMadeSimple
      @DetailingMadeSimple  6 місяців тому +2

      @dallaspaintcorrectionautod8343 if you want to be very technical PH Neutral is 7ph only. And anything past 7 is basic "alkaline and Acidic is below" but for a lack of a better term we say balanced as for most people we can explain it's just as safe as ph neutral soap but is a bit more alkaline for cleaning power. Yes 9ph we are really in the alkaline and reaching high alkalinity but that's why I say rare cases as the soaps are at that ph but once diluted in a body of water in varies on either the mineral content in your water or not and can go down to a PH of 8. Let's not get all super technical as most people don't look for this. 🫡

      @dallaspaintcorrectionautod8343 6 місяців тому +2

      @@DetailingMadeSimple well to get technical so you understand what you're trying to teach others. We need to understand what "balance" really means. In order for a chemical or even say a soap or even a medication to be balanced we need to know the pH of what we're trying to treat. Let's say leather has a pH of 6 we would want to use a cleaner at pH of 6. We now have a "balance". Hopefully that helps

    • @DetailingMadeSimple
      @DetailingMadeSimple  6 місяців тому +4

      Meguiars make quality products. I will say this on why I say they are not the overall best brand for detailers or enthusiasts starting out. Hopefully this clears alot of stuff.
      First way too many options for car detailing products it is confusing for the detailer/consumer they have 7 different wheel cleaners and specifically one has been discontinued recently so let's say 6. Have a wheel cleaner made specifically for gloss black rims. Hot shine wheel and tire cleaner. Have a total wheel, chrome wheel cleaner, aluminum wheel cleaner and Non acid wheel cleaner. Of course the recently discontinued acid wheel cleaner. Why are my clear coated gray rims different from my black ones? Also to pair with that 9 different tire dressings. 5 car shampoos and soaps. And one isn't even a high alkaline it's like 3 wash and wax. One ceramic wash and gold class.The list goes on. It's not that they don't make quality stuff just certain things are redundant or repetitive with no real innovation that sets them apart.
      My main goal was someone being introduced to a line up. And is like here it is you have full 12 items to do your entire vehicle that's their entire line up. From washing to decontamination and coating your vehicle if need be. As a new detailer/consumer it's overwhelming seeing 9 wheel cleaners and 9 tire dressings, 4 compounds and 4 different polishes and so on. Now once you're an experienced detailer you can confidently pick and choose and know what to go with.
      Hopefully this made sense and can see my viewpoint. That's why to me is not the overall best brand due to having wayyy too many options that will confuse any new detailer/DIYer or Consumer.

      @@DetailingMadeSimple I will 100 percent agree with you on the overlap especially on the consumer side. However I don’t think there is a brand that has as deep of a product line as Meguiar’s. They are like a vacuum and pressure washer away from being able to outfit your entire arsenal in only meguiars products. I don’t think any other brand can say that. I say that completely un biased, I don’t use specifically meguiars products, there are plenty of other products who focus on one or a few items and do it better, invisible glass for example.
