Hoping to get away with a single step with Gold Waffle on my VW when I paint correct in April; but given I'm running it on a 3-mm stroke Orbital Sander, and its VW paint, I got the wool pad as well in case the Gold waffle won't remove the swirls as easily or efficiently. Time will tell when I do test sections.
Couple questions. Got a car with a lot of plastic cladding. Can I use the clay towel on that? This is on a new car I’m about to coat. Really no paint issues. Should I just run a finishing pad with some polish over to get the gloss up before I coat it? I don’t have rinsless wash (I need to clear out stuff I already bought), should I just use normal water to wet my pad?
@@diydetailofficial let me refine my question about detailing the exterior of a car: after washing the car, one uses a “cleaner” wax to remove the various impurities, etc., on the paint surface. Then, use the polish to bring out the shine, etc. As the last step, use a sealer wax the vehicle to seal in that shine. So the question is, would the soapy cleaning system you utilized at the beginning of the video replace the using cleaner wax to remove the impurities from the paint surface? I hope this is clearer, thank you,
We started with DIY Detail All Clean to break down the dirt. Following that is a contact wash to remove all dirt and traffic film, using DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash. Next important step is decontamination using the Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel and DIY Detail Iron Remover . This replaces the old style cleaner wax, which used abrasives to do the job. I have a 24' GMC sierra truck that is black which I recently purchased. Apparently the dealership ran it thru a car was and it really swirled and fine scratched the paint. I been using your micro fiber pad followed by the red polish pad on my Milwaukee 15 mm DA. The paint looks amazing but some of the scratches are still there after multiple passes. Is there another product I should use for a better cut then polish to get the remainder out before I apply the stack? and yes I know about perfection but I want it right.

@@diydetailofficialThanks for the quick reply. In this video they used a water spot remover. Do you think I should on the new car? If so after the iron decon? Then polish?
Do you recommend the tar/sap remover as a routine step for prepping to polish, or only if there's visible issues? I have a black vehicle so it'd be hard to see that on there.
I have a 2007 silver opel corsa. I thought about machine polishing myself but the clear coat is starting to peel in places so not sure it's really worth bothering now. I suppose it would atleast be a good car to practice on. Any advice would be most appreciated!
Hey guys, we own a 2019 Tundra with 2000 miles & we washed & decontaminated, then rotary polished it with your gold standard. We were going to use panel prep before your ceramic coating but we see you’re using water spot remover here. Do we have to do that before the panel prep? Is it necessary? Thanks!
Hello guys, love the channel. Keep up the good work!! A little off topic but I would love to see a video on how to properly use the Marolex Axel FOAMER 2000. I see videos on unboxing, but nothing that shows you the proper way of using the different tips and more importantly, the delusion to get the right foam. (hope this makes sense). I purchased one and for the life of me I cannot get any foam and I have tried several soaps and delusions. ARGHHH
I ended up ordering the DA as well 😅 thanks for getting them out I’ll definitely share some feedback on them once they get here on the 21st thanks Yvan and Nick
Would a simple polish like M205 work well with the yellow pad as a one step? I have that on hand and actually looking to pick up a couple of your yellow and red pads.
I was just playing around on my test panel yesterday. I created some pretty bad scratches and decided to try wet sanding them out. Well what do you know I burned through the clear coat. Preservation over perfection 100%.
I have always used a rotary buffer and am for sure not a beginner. Wanting to switch to the fixed orbital. Seems training new people it use orbital is lots easier then train them to use a rotary. I need to cut and buff. Do yall offer classes of any kind. We are a large company that does a lot of buffing, metal polishing and detailing.
It definitely can’t be overlooked at how well the gold standard polish works. If I’ve got a persistent scratch I’ll go with adding a spot of a cutting compound (3D 500) to the 1 spray of gold standard polish. Scratch is diminished with minimal work.
Does it really matter what order you use water spot remover, tree sap remover, or tar remover when decontaminating a car, as long as they are rinsed well?
The phrase, "start with the least aggressive method first" has been said before. So wouldn't it be wise to use the Yellow Waffle followed by the Red Jeweling first before attempting the wool?
This was a great great video on the da using all the pads. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 thank you for that answer all my questions on the all pad use. You guys are the best 🙏 what speed did you use on the red pad with the da?
Such a great channel! Sorry if this question has been asked, but after the iron remover, it looked like you just rinsed with water (not the water spot remover) and then dried with towel before you polished. Is that the correct step before polish or was that just to save time in video? And then after polishing, is the next step to use rinseless and then a panel prep before applying ceramic coating?
@diydetailofficial is that "correct" to both of these questions: 1) before polishing, but after applying iron remover, should use water spot remover (not just rinse with water) and then dry; 2) after polishing, use rinseless wash and panel prep prior to applying ceramic coating?
One other irrelevant question. I was trying to find a video on your channel for best results for dealing with rock chips that go to the metal. Do you have a vid for that?
Need to step to a wool pad with my XC40 T5 R-Design (black) Volvo. Since the wool pad cuts deeper and the gold standard polish: “…removes *fine swirls* and *towel marks+…” It works well with the wool pad (?) or a different product needed? Next, finish with the waffle pad? ~ Thanks ~
They are not compatible, DIY Detail Water Spot Remover doesn’t provide sufficient lubrication, and will damage the Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel
Re: Using a leaf blower to dry your car: I blow about 80% of the water off my car and then use a drying towel and rinseless wash to remove any residue that might be left behind
Thanks for the video guys. Hey Yvan, looks like I'll get to say hello at the meet and greet event in Melbourne in a few weeks time. Are you bringing any rotaries over with you? :)
Will the tree sap remover take of dealer stickers? The dealership put a sticker with their name on in on both my wife's and my car and I want them gone.
@DIY Detail I’ve never seen you use a Tar Remover, only an Iron Remover. I believe a Tar Remover doesn’t react well with those type Decon towels. So when, if at all, would you use a Tar Remover please???

I have a 2007 silver opel corsa. I thought about machine polishing myself but the clear coat is starting to peel in places so not sure it's really worth bothering now. I suppose it would atleast be a good car to practice on. Any advice would be most appreciated!
Unfortunately failing clear coat is something not good to polish.
Thanks!
If you’ve polished, no need
When do you think it be up for sale on your website? I know there is pre orders but wanted to know when will it be in stock
Should be in stock later this week
Hello guys, love the channel. Keep up the good work!! A little off topic but I would love to see a video on how to properly use the Marolex Axel FOAMER 2000. I see videos on unboxing, but nothing that shows you the proper way of using the different tips and more importantly, the delusion to get the right foam. (hope this makes sense). I purchased one and for the life of me I cannot get any foam and I have tried several soaps and delusions. ARGHHH
We don’t have one, but I believe Pan the Organizer has a tutorial
I purchased a brand new car and the paint looks good. I want to ceramic coat. Should I wash and use the red pad or just wash and ceramic coat.
A light polish will help
I ended up ordering the DA as well 😅 thanks for getting them out I’ll definitely share some feedback on them once they get here on the 21st thanks Yvan and Nick
Thank you
Would u recommend using 6.5" pad on a 7" or would it work better on a 6" backing pad
Best on a 6 inch backing plate
Would a simple polish like M205 work well with the yellow pad as a one step? I have that on hand and actually looking to pick up a couple of your yellow and red pads.
Yes
@diydetailofficial excellent! Looking forward to using your pads with my rotary!
@joshraines enjoy
Hi! If you don't have "Rinseless wash", what's the best "general" product to damp the pad? Thank you so much.
Water
Great video! What should the speed setting be on the DA when using the red pad?
2-3
I was just playing around on my test panel yesterday. I created some pretty bad scratches and decided to try wet sanding them out. Well what do you know I burned through the clear coat. Preservation over perfection 100%.
It’s best to do it on a test hood.
Are you guys going to carry the IK sprayers? or Keg sprayers? Or is Amazon the place to purchase?
Amazon and ua-cam.com/video/5mTSak_uPFg/v-deo.htmlsi=kB7XxY-3dPReI_y4
Would using your rinseless wash all that be needed prior to putting on a spray on ceramic sealant
Yes
I have always used a rotary buffer and am for sure not a beginner. Wanting to switch to the fixed orbital. Seems training new people it use orbital is lots easier then train them to use a rotary. I need to cut and buff. Do yall offer classes of any kind. We are a large company that does a lot of buffing, metal polishing and detailing.
Yes, we offer on location training. Yvan@diydetail.com
It definitely can’t be overlooked at how well the gold standard polish works. If I’ve got a persistent scratch I’ll go with adding a spot of a cutting compound (3D 500) to the 1 spray of gold standard polish. Scratch is diminished with minimal work.
Nice
Does it really matter what order you use water spot remover, tree sap remover, or tar remover when decontaminating a car, as long as they are rinsed well?
No
Can you not use the wool pad and start with the yellow pad and finish with the red pad for light swirls?
Yes
I’ve used tree sap remover on tar. Goo gone taken to the next level safely. 👍🏻
Good to know!
The phrase, "start with the least aggressive method first" has been said before. So wouldn't it be wise to use the Yellow Waffle followed by the Red Jeweling first before attempting the wool?
Yes, but in this case we knew we needed wool.
Will the yellow pad remove old ceramic or should I use wool pad first?
Yellow is sufficient
This was a great great video on the da using all the pads. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 thank you for that answer all my questions on the all pad use. You guys are the best 🙏 what speed did you use on the red pad with the da?
Speed 2
Hi Yvan! Where can I buy your product with international shipping?

Such a great channel! Sorry if this question has been asked, but after the iron remover, it looked like you just rinsed with water (not the water spot remover) and then dried with towel before you polished. Is that the correct step before polish or was that just to save time in video? And then after polishing, is the next step to use rinseless and then a panel prep before applying ceramic coating?
Correct
@diydetailofficial is that "correct" to both of these questions: 1) before polishing, but after applying iron remover, should use water spot remover (not just rinse with water) and then dry; 2) after polishing, use rinseless wash and panel prep prior to applying ceramic coating?
One other irrelevant question. I was trying to find a video on your channel for best results for dealing with rock chips that go to the metal. Do you have a vid for that?
Yes

Is your product sold in automotive stores?
Thank you

If you don't have a Lake Country wash pad cleaner, what alternatives can you use to clean the pad and keep it damp?

Would you go over company decals with the yellow pad or stay away from it?
If they are gloss, yes, lightly
@@diydetailofficial awesome.. thank up
so on a brand new black chevy blazer do you recommend the red pad on a rotary machine? i want to follow up with your ceramic stack!
Yes
These guys are giving yall all the GAME !!! / JEWELS 💎 !! master detailer here btw !! 🔥 🔥
Thank you.
~ Thanks ~
Correct
Great video, was wondering what they have put the bonnet on to keep it so stable thanks
A carpenters work table
Can we use the water spot remover as a drying aid? And if we have a DI system, is it even needed?
No , it needs to be rinsed.
why not use water spot remover in conjunction with clay towel?
They are not compatible, DIY Detail Water Spot Remover doesn’t provide sufficient lubrication, and will damage the Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel
So I use the red one as the final, but then how do I decide to use the wool pad or the yellow one for the 1st step?
Do a test spot
great video, and super easy enstructions to follow... What polisher you recomend for a begginer and"weekend worrior"
A rotary
At what speed are you using for the red pad on a DA and rotary?
On rotary, speed 1 always, on our 25mm DA speed 1 or 2
Another great video Nick. What ratio do you usually use to make a pre-wash with All Clean and Incredible Suds?
120oz Water, 8oz DIY Detail All Clean , 1/2 oz DIY Detail Incredible Suds
Re: Using a leaf blower to dry your car: I blow about 80% of the water off my car and then use a drying towel and rinseless wash to remove any residue that might be left behind
Good call
Awesome video guys. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video guys. Hey Yvan, looks like I'll get to say hello at the meet and greet event in Melbourne in a few weeks time. Are you bringing any rotaries over with you? :)
Unfortunately no tools in Australia for now
@@diydetailofficialok no worries
Not sure what to do with my new SUV. Should I polish it even if it doesnt have any scratches or swirls and just use a finisher?
The less you polish, the longer the paint will last.
What size pad fits on the bauer palm sander?
5 inch
Will these pads be ok on a forced rotation polisher ? Ta
Yes
Awesome video!! Maybe add the gloss meter in next one.
Good idea!
@@diydetailofficial tnx for the demos!
Will the tree sap remover take of dealer stickers? The dealership put a sticker with their name on in on both my wife's and my car and I want them gone.
It will remove the adhesive left behind.
Very educational video, thanks guy!! I’m now a subscriber 👍 Question - where did you get the red gloves you’re wearing in this video?
Thank you. From Amazon
@DIY Detail
I’ve never seen you use a Tar Remover, only an Iron Remover.
I believe a Tar Remover doesn’t react well with those type Decon towels.
So when, if at all, would you use a Tar Remover please???
Use DIY Detail Tree Sap Remover to remove Tar. Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel is not compatible with removing tar.
Instead of using All Clean can you also just wash your car using Rinseless or Subs before or isnt that enough?
Yes
Good knowledgeable information 👌
Thanks a lot
Hope to see 3” jeweling pads in stock at some point.
They are on the way
