Hi I found this video so useful iv been putting of valeting on my own for the past 5 years but doing the odd peoples as abit of extra cash, however I found myself charging to less and it deflated me. This year iv decided to try again using your advice and iv taken on a brand new approach. I don't have a van but I'm doing it from my car I thought it was the van and watertank because I'm starting this from nothing. Iv done the logo and got my first clean on Sunday
Brilliant video the few cars I've done ATM. I've used turtle Wax original and meguiar's ultimate black plastic restorer and I've had others ask me to do there car aswell. But one thing I will say is I've been machine buffing the cars. I've ordered a few different spray on waxes from turtle Wax to try on mini valets 👍
Really good informative video Any chance you could make a vid where u recommend the items regardless of price just what you recommend cheap or slightly more expensive to complete full on details Respect the channel btw keep it up 💪
Another excellent video. Top advice to anyone who wants to start out in car valeting or detailing. I personally can't recommend Sonax brilliant shine detail spray enough. It is utterly brilliant, no silicone, so I can use it in my shop, and its cheap as chips. I have even diluted it down, and used as a sort of drying aid. Top stuff Dave. I look forward to your poundland video.💪💪👊👊👏👏
Really good video Dave, cheapest phosphoric acid wheel cleaner, Quantum alloy wheel cleaner is from VAG dealerships 5L around £8 also Astonish glass cleaner is very good 750ml around £1-£2. All the best.
I love Power Maxed tfr, essential at this time of year. 👍 If anyone is looking for a cheap but powerful snowfoam try non-caustic Snowstorm With TFR Snowfoam from Jennychem, as the name suggests it's a snowfoam with traffic film remover so you can cut out the tfr stage and go straight to this. I've tried many snowfoams like Bilt Hamber Autofoam, Wax Planet 8 Below, AutoGlym Polar Blast but nothing cuts through road grime like this stuff. 👍 It's £16.50 for 5 litres and in winter I only need 40ml of product in 500ml of water. In the summer I can halve it to 20 or 25ml. 😎
Great video with lots of good advice I started by buying a used valeting van with all the equipment for £2k , theres always people giving the trade up after investing thousands and finding out they struggle to run the business For chemicals don't forget autosmart, Nielsen's , autoglym , valetpro , jennychem , carchem and autobirite plus loads of other trade suppliers Most car detailing suppliers sell trade size aswel , Amazon is usually dear for trade products. For microfibers try paragon microfiber, they supply to the trade and are good quality and very well priced You always recommend karcher power washers but I didnt get on with them , i found nilfisk a far better machine that's in the same price range But the ultimate set up is a good Honda generator ec3600 which will power everything and never mis a beat, mines is 7 years old and the kranzle k7 but you'll pay £600 plus for each You'll find your constantly trying new products and updating your equipment as you work but that's part of the fun in valeting
I have tried to purchase from aliexpress but they don't deliver to where I stay. I live in Aberdeen a city which is the oil and gas capital of europe and yet we are deemed as being too far away. Preposterous! I absolutely love your videos, best valeting and detailing videos on UA-cam.

@@epicautomotivedetailing yeh we renovated an old decommissioned petrol station on a village, came with a old commercial garage and plenty of outside space, has a lot of potential
The budget isn't far from what i had spent to start with, but i got a 2nd hand power washer, generator and van and was about 5k and started replacing equipment with new after about a year. Products went straight to autosmart as it was the main big company i know. Im now using other companies thats cheaper and with the same quality of chemicals. I started with many of them including neil brushes.

Fantastic video! Just at the right time too. I know it's subjective and vehicle dependent but what would you consider a fair price to charge clients for your basic wash &go and valet etc...
For me it depends on what type of car and client. A good average is to charge 35-50. Personally I wouldn't do too cheap valets as it's a lot of work for very little money

Well done mate one step at a time. You've done the hardest bit which is getting started.
Great content, I love cleaning my car, it’s great therapy for me.
My heart sinks when I see people queuing for these hand car wash establishments.
Awesome video almost matching my list i have had on the back burner.
Thanks you taking the time to put this together and uploading.
Pleasure as long as some people find it useful then I'm happy
brilliant ,thanks for taking the time .Massive motivation now
Thanks Mark happy to help 👍
Watching these videos just to learn how to wash my own/partners/family cars better but slowly more tempted to offer a washing service for my local rural area. Great video thanks
So on point with this and glad I have done alot your way already starting out but still some really good tips. Thanks Dave
Cheers mate happy to help. As long as someone gets something positive from this video then it's totally worth it
I started out 8 years ago with karcher k2s and would wear them out every 6 months, now have the kranzle and amazing peice of kit, I also used it use alot of the prokleen range to start
Well done mate!
Keep an eye on Lidl and Aldi for cleaning brushes. Really good quality been using mine for years. The range is also good for brushes, caddies, mt towels etc.
Definitely keeping my eye on for their bargains
for glass cleaner you can use a 1.1 dilution of windscreen wash as its safe on tint I use it and it works very well
Great video,Love your sense of humour,I’ve been valeting and doing concourse work for years but recently started doing it as a business,Early days but I’m really enjoying it,I’ve got a bit of a niche market in that I’m cleaning horse wagons and trailers plus the vehicles that tow them,Thanks for your advice
Wow that's brilliant. Totally amazing idea 👌
What a great channel and sound guy! subbed. Day 1 of planning my new venture and have just spent £120 on basic chemicals and equipment (before watching this video!)
Thanks mate, got a business playlist and fee videos coming this week about pricing
Great vid and very informative, some good products, the flunkys are great and the yum brushes are so soft👍look forward to the next great vid✊
Thanks Paul. Next video is going to be a good one 😉
Just starting out part time alongside my day job. Your videos are helping massively thank you!
Nice one that's great mate
Oh, and I'm also glad that you mentioned make up brushes. I've been using some, but I thought I would face ridicule for it, not that I care that much.
Nothing wrong with makeup brushes. Think Detailing has become a very judgemental industry based on things like this and using methods and sometimes it's nice to bring that balance back. Thanks for the tweet too 👍
Far too soft, paint brushes best imo. Also cut them down.
Can you do a video on the pros and cons of using or asking customer for a water and electric supply as i want to start a detailing business but i reckon that will be my main problem. Love this video helped me a lot with more information and knowledge
Thank you sir, your videos n clever information helps me through my covid days. Stay safe n all best to your business n Video s
Thanks mate
For starting off Would it be acceptable to use the customers power for the pressure washer ? or do you recommend investing in a generator.
I never ever used a generator for work

Mate you are popular bro! going on vacation tomorrow with my girl to San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf at the marriot hotel for a kings room! detailing has been awesome for me. Already have some good money saved (10k) and all my equipment bought in cash (no debt). Thanks for your motivation and tips! keep the vids cranking out appreciate your knowledge!
Have a great holiday. Hope you get some normality over there. It's very cold here in UK. Everyone stuck in doors. Need some sunshine 🌞. Good luck with your business 👏
@@epicautomotivedetailing thank you mate. Very kind of you. Just a small stay for a night and celebrate Valentine’s Day with my lady. Detailing has been hard work like you said it hasn’t been easy but we keep at it. The weather here isn’t much better but hope it gets better over there. Cheers mate 🍻
Thanks mate have fun 😁
Hi been watching your vids for a month now and there really helpful and educating as I am in the process of starting my own business looking for some advice on the best products that you use thank you again your great
Thank you very much 🙏
Quick update : it's been about 3 months since I applied auto glym super resin polish and the water still beeds and there is no sheeting at all. I've done about 4 washes.
Really good video this 👌 I'm not even planning to start a business but great simple product advise with no faff! I already use premium products but this is still so helpful.
Nice one thank you very much. Just happy to help
Have you ever tried pledge furniture polish it’s 90 percent bee’s wax wipes off easily and the water just shoots off.I only used it once and the car was like a mirror on a sunny day.and it didn’t take any paint off on the rag.
I'll admit when I first ever started back in the day i did try it on the interior plastics
Ive got a Karcher K4 control , once i break even il be investing into the Xpert. Great Video ! Il be using my car ! Im taking the leap . Will defo look into Williams Interior as im using Valet Pro at the moment
Thanks for watching mate. There are other brands as well for interior cleaners so these are just some top picks from when I needed them the mist 👌
Good video mate and insight!! Been in the same job for 26 years and probably don’t have the bottle to start off like you just in case it went tits up!😬😬
Go for it mate! It is tough but I believe in you! And more important just believe in yourself 💪
Well done mate. I raised my prices last month and if anything it's made life so much better
Great detailing advise. I’m professional and totally agree with everything. Sonax BDS he just plugged the whole scene 😅😂😂 god bless and god speed
Thank you my friend
Brilliant video the few cars I've done ATM. I've used turtle Wax original and meguiar's ultimate black plastic restorer and I've had others ask me to do there car aswell. But one thing I will say is I've been machine buffing the cars. I've ordered a few different spray on waxes from turtle Wax to try on mini valets 👍
The ceramic spray coating is amazing but make sure you have damp towel to remove those smears
Great video showing the very cost effective products.
Thanks very much. Bit basic but it will help others who need it
Really good informative video
Any chance you could make a vid where u recommend the items regardless of price just what you recommend cheap or slightly more expensive to complete full on details
Respect the channel btw keep it up 💪
yes definitely a great idea
@@epicautomotivedetailingany chance you made ever video mate?
@@Has213 it's still on my list with about 50+ videos so will fit it in for sure
Another excellent video. Top advice to anyone who wants to start out in car valeting or detailing.
I personally can't recommend Sonax brilliant shine detail spray enough. It is utterly brilliant, no silicone, so I can use it in my shop, and its cheap as chips.
I have even diluted it down, and used as a sort of drying aid.
Top stuff Dave. I look forward to your poundland video.💪💪👊👊👏👏
Thank you Kevin, appreciate your support on the channel 🙏👏
Really good video Dave, cheapest phosphoric acid wheel cleaner, Quantum alloy wheel cleaner is from VAG dealerships 5L around £8 also Astonish glass cleaner is very good 750ml around £1-£2. All the best.
Hello John. Yeah I know a local place close to me that sells it for cheaper in bulk but they are a small local firm. Thanks for watching mate 🙂
Haven't tried jennychem yet. Power maxed is a solid tfr. Thanks for watching sorry it's a long one lol
Great video with lots of good advice
I started by buying a used valeting van with all the equipment for £2k , theres always people giving the trade up after investing thousands and finding out they struggle to run the business
For chemicals don't forget autosmart, Nielsen's , autoglym , valetpro , jennychem , carchem and autobirite plus loads of other trade suppliers
Most car detailing suppliers sell trade size aswel , Amazon is usually dear for trade products.
For microfibers try paragon microfiber, they supply to the trade and are good quality and very well priced
You always recommend karcher power washers but I didnt get on with them , i found nilfisk a far better machine that's in the same price range
But the ultimate set up is a good Honda generator ec3600 which will power everything and never mis a beat, mines is 7 years old and the kranzle k7 but you'll pay £600 plus for each
You'll find your constantly trying new products and updating your equipment as you work but that's part of the fun in valeting
Dave your a legend , your tips and advice are so valuable , keep up with the videos great work
Thank you so much 🙏
Great guy and great advise, thank you
Thank you
I have tried to purchase from aliexpress but they don't deliver to where I stay. I live in Aberdeen a city which is the oil and gas capital of europe and yet we are deemed as being too far away. Preposterous! I absolutely love your videos, best valeting and detailing videos on UA-cam.
Thanks so much. Apologies for late reply. So many to get through
I love your videos and your advice, could you please give me any advice on vacs for car any ideas would be appreciated all the best Stephen
Thanks Steven, Charles wet vac is mega
Amazing video. This can help so many people with starting a business 👏
Thank you 🙏
Brilliant video mate, thank you. I am 50/50 whether to start out on my own. I love detailing, I find it very rewarding but I am 52 and have arthritis and also lack confidence. Hurts just to do my own motors lol
Hello my friend. Hope arthritis doesn't stop you. I won't lie it's very stressful from a business point of view. It's very different from my when you do your own but if you manage it with say 2 cars a day you can really enjoy it
@@epicautomotivedetailing Cheers pal. Yeah, giving it some real thought to be honest. I love doing cars, always had compliments etc but as you say doing 2 a day may give me insight I need to make up my mind. Love the videos, keep 'em coming :-)
@@Steve-K.G. I'm 55 and been doing valets and detailing for 3 years now. Won't lie to you, it ain't easy, but it gets me off my arse and keeps me busy!
Great video there is a cheap but great window cleaner called astonish anti fog glass cleaner I think it's in poundland or here in Ireland in a few cheap shops for 1.50. Can't wait to see what's in the next middle range video 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you mate that will be out next month
Been looking at starting up a small car cleaning business myself, I’m extremely lucky i have a massive garage and four court, plus a few of the essentials from being a hobbyist, but I would like to commit and actually make some money from it, it would be a dream to work from home doing this, great video,
Thanks very much. Sounds amazing. If you got enough space go for it. That's half the battle finding a good location
@@epicautomotivedetailing yeh we renovated an old decommissioned petrol station on a village, came with a old commercial garage and plenty of outside space, has a lot of potential
Hi - Can you define Car Cleaning vs Valeting vs Detailing for Newbies. Thanks
Nice one yeah I watch your videos. Very real my friend 👏
@@epicautomotivedetailing much appreciate it.
Your video's are great. Unfortunately i must have caught the last 3mins of this video this morning so have to re watch it
I agree with Chris Stott - got to have an intermediate (still important knowledge to be gained for most) and advanced level (less relevant I guess as folks will learn more as they go along and develop) presentations. Lots of content here Dave and some useful pointers for all folks with an interest in getting stuck in. I also like the way you respond to so many comments, very polite. Also (and I know it's subjective) I am 'deffo' uglier (and older) than you so don't worry as there's also someone somewhere worse off :)
Thank You karl. I already planned the next video for people who want to get to the next level so ill probably have that out in next 3-4 weeks. Love to mix videos up so will be uploading a disaster detail next and a few vlogs to keep everyone happy 😀
Brilliant advice!
Thanks Paul 😀
My Man!✨💯😎

Great video very decent of you to share your experience and point new starters in the right direction.
Thanks mate that's kind of you. Just happy to help others from my mistakes
This is perfect thankyou. Went to halfords today only to be overwhelmed with chemicals but am gettin somewhere now thanks to you. Lookin to do my very first detail in next couple of weeks hopefully. Two bucket method though as lacking some equipment. Subbed.
Thank you very much 🙏
Great information well done lad☺
Thank you very much
Great video your such a great mentor in this field! Can you up-date the Wax applicators link.
Thank you i will add new links soon
You should try the duel products range if you could do a video on it cos I use them and I find them great. To use
Sounds like a good idea 👌
Question: I have a car but what if I do not have hose access, how will I use the pressure washer
Carry small drums 25l containers work great. Pressure washers don't use huge amounts of water
I use the duel products I think they are good but it's the stone chips I have problems with how to deal with
Havent used duel yet
Fantastic video THANK YOU MR WALKER 👍👌🙌
Thanks Dave. Happy to help
hi mate great video on the subject of hose pipes , i tend to use the ones that expend
thanks for your amazing videos and all the hard work that goes into them.how are you coping with lockdown, do you see yourself getting back to work soon.
Thank you very much. I just can't wait to get back out. I have done a few days work but only because I got permission from government as it's for TV show

@@epicautomotivedetailing lovely, thank you, keep up the great job.
Thanks for the video. Great advice. On average, how many cars would you say 5L would cover?
Thank you. It varies on each product sadly there is no way I could make an estimate as you do more exterior than interior
Very good video. I am not a professional , but certainly like to clean my car beyond the stage of soapy water in a bucket and a sponge.
Apart from your list of chemicals, which was very thorough, I am undecided between the Karcher K5 Power Control Pressure Washer and the Bosch Advanced Aquatatak 160 2600W Pressure Washer. Advice on this would be really be appreciated.
You are brilliant mate 👌👌best video ever 👏
Planning to start but stuck with the services and the prices how to set don't have any idea 🙄🥴
Any good tips how to work out the prices and the services please? ☺
Already filmed that today mate. Coming very soon. I got a complete breakdown of everything you need to know. Stay tuned
Great video. Personally I would use garage therapy but for starters they are good ideas for car cleaning chemicals.
Hiya, it's all about finding products on a budget as some people feel inadequate when they can't afford more premium brands in this industry. In a perfect world yes 100% they are amazing. The shampoos are class 👌
@@epicautomotivedetailing I agree

Hi Dave
Can you use the Williams fabric cleaner in a cleaning/Extraction machine? got a few interiors todo but not enough in them to use Yum Interior, so looking for a
decent cheaper alternative.
Thanks Tony
Yes mate. To save chemicals use a drill brush so you do t need to heavily saturate it 👌 I use a mix of many products as I test loads. Williams fabric cleaner is actually pretty good
Great video matey. Even as a weekend warrior you dont relise what you spend.
Thanks Lee, YEah it can get costly and it does all add up
I've been using my Suzuki jimny for my mobile detailing business haha
Yes get in 💪, I love the Jimmy. Hilarious good fun and great in winter. I'm actually jealous my favourite car
I wish I had this advice when I started very good for starting out there maybe just one more thing I carry a list of all chemical formulas just in case ??.
How long have you been going for? I got a business playlist with loads of relatable video's 👌
Do you recommend any attachments to buy along side the karcher expert? All does everything I need come with it? Great vid
Mjjc sell a snow foam cannon with an easy lock attachment
Fantastic video! Just at the right time too. I know it's subjective and vehicle dependent but what would you consider a fair price to charge clients for your basic wash &go and valet etc...
For me it depends on what type of car and client. A good average is to charge 35-50. Personally I wouldn't do too cheap valets as it's a lot of work for very little money
Hi Dave
Thanks for previous reply, one more qustion, what dilution rate do you recommed
