If you touch your finger to that Sheen and it breaks up like shattered bits of glass, it's biological. Like bacteria. If you touch your finger to it and it appears to run away, it's hydrocarbon like oil or gasoline. So just know that just because it looks bad it may not necessarily be bad. It's just the result of organic decay in that part of the water.

@@BamaSaltwater That is bad news. I had to sample at a Farm Store once that dumped leftover Pesticides and Herbicides in a pond on the property. It was surrounded by acres of death. What you describe should be highly illegal. Someone should report them to the State EPA.

That big sheen on top of the water could be all natural, probably not but with the natural gas and all that down there it very well could be or at least a large percentage anyways. The ducks were there eating so it’s possible. Also the swamps can have trees release tannins into the water that cause it as well.
That's what I've heard but knowing the upstream topography. unfortunately it is not. Too many pesticides from the up stream farms. There is a couple of big farms with a few ponds that drain into this creek.

Good ‘ol Dixey bar. Never wade fishing out there again. Got into a really terrific Spanish mackerel bite on the fly last summer over there, but promptly found out I was in chest deep shark infested water. Where there are Spanish, there are sharks.
