Carbon Fiber Delamination Bubble Clear Coat Repair - Lexus RCF Vehicle Door/Window Button Panel DIY

- The carbon fiber door switch trim panel cover on my Lexus RCF delaminated. This resulted in large ugly discolored air bubbles under the epoxy or clear coat. Instead of purchasing brand new parts, which would have cost a few hundred dollars, I attempted a DIY fix. In case the repair did not work, I could always simply buy entirely new parts. After removing the original epoxy (or clear coat), I wet sanded and applied a new clear coat. See link to 4K clear coat purchased from Amazon below. Finally, I polished the parts to a glossy finish. The result was gorgeous and required less than one hour of effort. The same repair method could be applied to other car parts, including interior and exterior trim, panels, and hood. I hope this helps you with your project!

Thanks for posting...there are minor signs of it starting at the very edges on my GSF which was quite concerning, but I now have the reassurance that there is a fairly easy fix.
It's starting in mine... just like everyone else's... Thanks so much for taking the time to film and post!
Great video.
Great video amazing job. But why in earth you go through all that effort and not wetsand the clear.
Even without wet sanding, the repaired part was indistinguishable from the original. Good enough.
Fair enough
Is that a OEM part or aftermarket?
OEM
That's a really nice job, it turned out great.
