I think UA-camrs are getting a lot more personable. We know more about them as people... I think it’s a good thing and something to be cautious of.
I think certain ones are. Jess for sure is. Ypu should watch morgan Turner and tara Lynn. I have a tiny UA-cam channel that I love I do it to alleviate my anxiety, depression and loneliness. My subscribers are legitimately my only friends. I love watching UA-cam it is my TV

UA-cam is my tv. I have watched every video jess has ever done. Not sure if you are interested in some smaller youtubers but I really like morgan turner and tara Lynn. I have a channel but it's so tiny lol compared to everyone else these days. I really love doing it though it really helps with anxiety and depression

I love your videos. You’re very relatable and down to earth. My biggest complaint about “Beauty Gurus” is that they seem almost self entitled. They want to rub your nose in the fact that they have 200 eyeshadow palettes and 100 highlighters. When they declutter they only get rid of drugstore stuff and make sure they hold on to every high end product and then claim they’ve done a good job. I love the fact you’ve gotten off of PR lists. Most you-tubers won’t do that. I mean you only have one face after all.
Jess, as a performer I'd be so fascinated to know what you would do as "theater neutral" stage makeup, with all the makeup knowledge you have now! I started watching beauty UA-cam to get reviews on products I wear for shows. Love watching you! 🌺

I have been with you for a long time, and I remember everyone having their lipstick collections, mostly Mac, displayed. It is interesting that now the channels I watch are much more like yours, Jessica. Not so concerned with all the "new" launches and continuing to collect more and more makeup. I am more of a minimalist, and all I could think about is all that makeup going bad in those Alex drawers. I am thrilled with the changes you have made to your channel!

One of the biggest changes I've seen is people tend to be more upfront on how the got the product and if it's a sponsor. And many channel's (at least the ones I follow) are doing more vlogs and lifestyle type content.
I've been watching beautube for 3 years probably and a lot of people moved to minimalism which is super good for me personally. I didn't have much time to be influenced to want huge collections and get everything new. I'm pretty sceptical about buying new stuff and am actually using things up now, and the panning community really made me shake off the desire to hang on to things. Now panning something is an achievement not a panic of running out

One thing that I respect you a lot is you always have a solid opinion on product that you test on. That’s why even I browse through tons of videos, your videos are always the ones that I would sit down and really watch. Instead of having it play as a background noise when I’m doing chores.I can’t stand UA-camrs say “I don’t know” about a product in their videos. And that tend to happen to a lot of UA-camrs who try to call themselves “reviewer”. It irritates me when I spend my time watching their video and get a whole bunch of “i don’t know, I don’t remember”
Jess people watch you because they relate to you; the “average” (I shouldn’t even say that bc what does that even mean?) woman doesn’t do lashes and bold eye looks on the daily. I’m glad you’ve found your groove and are comfortable being YOU instead of someone you may think others want to see. You’re one of 3 channels I watch regularly, because you’re trustworthy, honest and real- and I think that’s what women want!! Also, Stila’s convertible color in Lillium is the BEST, I’ve gone through at least 5 and have a backup, it’s beautiful, you should check it out! Much love!!

I am a 42 year old mother of 2 living in a very small town in Alabama. I tried doing the more bold looks. I looked crazy and I certainly wasn't comfortable.

To me the biggest change is the length of videos! I remember when Tiffany D did one of her first 30min videos I was like oh hold up I can’t spend 30min watching this even though I was watching like 2 hrs worth of content already lol but now the length of videos don’t bother me as long as the content is enjoyable. If the video only needs to be 5min make it five min. If it’s a video like this the more the merrier. UA-camrs are also super polarized now either they are the most down to earth people or they’re they are the most artificial person ever. Before I think people were just following the trend and one big blob rather than individuals. Anyone else agree?

i’m so with you on how youtube’s changed. the only thing i miss is less in person collabs and the feeling of community/friendships but i think it comes from way more people on the platform, so of course gonna be spread all over the globe and not just in cities like London/LA. doesn’t mean that creators aren’t friends but it was such a fun time of video to see, at least for me
I love watching your channel because you are so down to earth. You know what you like, you know who you are and you won’t deviate. I also believe that most UA-camrs will change according to the changes that go on in their life. You mentioned Madison Miller, I also love watching her. She was a “Barbie doll” until she had her daughter. She had the perfect hair, makeup and nails. Now her makeup fits her lifestyle. She cooks, cleans and has a toddler running around the house. She still looks gorgeous, but she doesn’t have time for eyeshadow and goes more towards a more natural look. I believe that’s how you can tell who is real and who is not.
