I would love to see a video of you and Tyler, sharing how you pay and budget for all your travel expenses. Do you use certain credit cards with points, travel apps or what do you recommend? Brilliant! An unpacking video is so useful! My take is that the viewer is watching a trusted creator from fresh off a trip who can really give some great tips/ suggestions/stories because they just lived it, whereas a Pack With Me is useful too, but more fun to just watch even if no trip is planned 😂
This is going to sound so niche, but I’ve been watching you since I was in college. You are my comfort creator!! I moved out of my childhood home a year ago and ever since I turn on your videos when I feel like my house is too quiet😂 it feels like I’m on FaceTime with you! Even y’all’s older vlogmas I watch too! Specifically when I’m taking a shower because I feel like there’s someone in the house with me so I don’t feel as nervous😂😂😂 trust me I know how wild that sounds but it’s true! Long story short I love you Jess!!!
Hair appliances and many other appliances are dual voltage these days. Even this cheapy Sephora curling iron I have is dual voltage. Just have to check the individual appliance to see that it says something like 120v-240v (or 100v-220v) on the device. The term "travel" doesn't mean it's dual voltage. It just means that it's smaller and probably more lightweight.
In a see of influencers that are not disclosing as per FTC you are a breath of fresh air, I trust you above all other You Tubers! Not all your recommendations work for me (different skin type, different tastes sometimes)but I know you are honest and that's rare nowadays! ❤
I would love to see all your makeup and skincare that you packed in your bags, what you pqcked in your carryon because you can only have limited stuff up in the air and how you did your everyday makeup while on holiday and especially if you didn't have much time before going out. Love your videos, you're my favourite makeup UA-camr because you're so relatable 😊
I just it back from cruising the Med as well. *** Good walking sandals are a must. I wore linen dresses and they really help keep you cool. I also agree with your recommendation for the hand-held fan. What a life saver!
It's always interesting to me to listen to how stylish people pack. I just count the number or bottoms and tops i'll need (considering how many times the bottoms will be repeated), and if the items are comfortable and durable. Matching will happen while getting dressed in the morning 😅
That, my dear, is chaotic. I have no desire to try and make an outfit on limited options. I’m already trash at it with all my options, and you want to make it harder?
@@tabithak5943 I think I'm just not stylish, it's not something I think about 🤷♀️ I was just sharing what I do, and commenting on Jessica's post for engagement because I like her video 👍👍
Love the SPF powder tip for the scalp!! I shared that with all my associates (I work at Ulta) to share with our guests! We’re in Orlando and always have guests from the parks this will benefit!!!!! ❤
Totally agree about the fan!! I went to London and Paris a few weeks ago. It was only on the low 70’s but boy I wished I hadn’t forgotten the fan especially with lack of AC and crowds on the street and metro.
What a breath of fresh air. An American saying she didn’t use her water bottle because she just bought water out and about. Al of these TikTok videos of Americans lately who claim Europeans must be dehydrated because we don’t have any water, it was starting to baffle me. Sure we might not carry a gallon water bottle everywhere, including going grocery shopping, but yeah, we do drink it. All day every day 😂
Thought the EU was anti single use plastic. Reusable water bottle will be the way I go when I visit Greece. Will buy one there as a souvenir. Would not pack one.
as a Canadian who has lived in France for 5yr and did have a water bottle that I resused all the time back in Toronto I have to say that it is rare to see French ppl or other EU ppl lugging those big water bottles everywhere. Ppl just dont really do that. Yes they use the single use plastic bottles. Also most ppl are just sitting down and having a glass of water or a drink. Just like you really would not see ppl walking around drinking coffee. Walking around and drinking isnt a big thing here.
We went to Italy and the host at our airbnb in Matera said he really wanted a Stanley mug for water 😂 I was not expecting him to say that but it was funny, I told him I don’t have a Stanely mug I’ve got a Buc ees mug 😂
An alternative to the slipper socks, I always travel with rubber flip flops to wear in my hotel room, and I also wear them in the shower. Sounds crazy but I also get grossed out by standing barefoot in a hotel shower! So they serve two purposes. I always travel with a shawl, just so handy to have💖
I recently bought a UPF-50 coverup hoodie from Land’s End. It’s just enough to help you if there’s a chill, but not overly heavy, and because it’s thin, it doesn’t take up much space. (It’s kind of a rashguard material)
Very helpful video! Also wanted to mention that Hawaiian Tropic makes an spf powder for half the price of the Super Goop (although it doesn't come in different shades), I've been really liking it.
I just got back from a 1,000 mile road trip [ETA: 2,000 miles round trip]. I brought my Owala bottle. I used it in the car. When I ran out of the ice water I brought from home, I started filling it with bottled water just to help keep it cold longer. I didn't end up using it much when I got to my destination though because I would park my car downtown and walk for miles. It was impractical to carry around a heavy steel bottle, especially since there weren't places to refill it. I regretted packing that. I packed way too many clothes for a two-week trip. Next time, I will pack a week of clothes and accept that I need to do laundry (I had to do laundry even though I didn't even wear half my clothes). I knew rain was forecast so I packed my rain jacket but I didn't also pack rain boots of any kind and I had regrets when I was walking around with soggy shoes and socks. At least I had dry shoes packed to change into later. I knew we'd be hiking near a waterfall so I brought my hiking boots. Didn't realize the entire trail was fully paved. Welp! My favorite things that I packed were disposable face cloths (used on my face, and in the shower), and Greenies pill pockets. Traveled with my senior dog who needs meds twice a day and those made it so easy to medicate her even on the road. I make my own pill pockets with wet food at home but that would have been messy and impractical in the car.
I just went to Italy to Venice, Milan, Florence, Rome, Naples Sicily amalfi, & ALL OF THIS IS INCREDIBLY ACCURATE HOW I FEEL. if your someone who watched this and sees this comment. Trust jess. Enough said.
This is the exact trip me and my husband are about to take!! Would you add anything to what Jess said? Any regrets or things you're super happy you packed? I need all the help I can get!
I was there during the first 2 weeks of June too. And yes! The heat was crazy in Rome. I was glad i brought my hat too. Especially when I was exploring Naples.
Hi Jessica, welcome home. 😊When we first went to Europe, a million years ago, I saw a lot of the women wearing nicer leather shoes/loafers. But now when I go to Europe, all the women tend to be wearing high end or at least very decent sneakers. So I think your, comfortable shoe recommendation is spot on. They may be wearing a business suit or a designer jeans, but they wear them with sneakers, because everybody walks a lot. I love those slings for the kids. That is such a cool idea. I also recommend either a neck fan or a handheld fan honestly for every woman over 50. Ha ha. Or for anyone going to a climate which might be the same or hotter than your own. They’re nice to have as you say, also because many buildings or restaurants don’t have a/c (or it’s not on as cool as setting as we may be used to in the states). I would also recommend just knowing that you can lift your baggage and carry it for a while if needed, because many hotels and air bnbs don’t have lifts in them.
I went on a Med cruise in June, too. I bought five of the same knit dress, different patterns, to wear with bike shorts and tennis shoes. That was the smartest thing ever! Also, I highly recommend the neck fans. It’s nothing extra to carry. Hey, I live in Indy, too!
In July 2016 we did a tour of Pompeii & you definitely want a big water bottle when you do that tou. There was a place that sold water but the tour guide didn’t want to stop 😩 so we had to wait till the tour was over.
Save space use soap or shampoo or conditioner supplied to wash smalls, was away for 9 weeks, washed all my clothes in hand basins and if a bath washed all the bulkier items. They dried over night, every time. Was staying in hotels without a laundry. Saved so much time.
I sweated so much in India I didn't really have to pee very often. I would drink water, but immediately I was sweating! That is a very good tip about the hydration packets!
That Cabeau neck pillow you recommended, has been my go-to brand for years, except mine doesn't have that (imo unnecessary) strap you are talking about. The pillow is amazing because the back side is flat, so it doesn't push your neck forward into an unnatural position like most more rounded pillows. It also comes up a bit higher on your neck, so it almost becomes like a neck brace when you are sleeping, preventing you from getting a weird stitch in your neck. I have slept better on planes with this pillow than anything and it's helped me feel better after the flight too because my neck isn't crying for a chiropractor.
When you brought out your new favorite toiletry bag I was like YES! I have one exactly like it by the brand Lug. I have it in two sizes and absolutely LOVE it!
Went to Rome last June. It was absolutely beautiful, but so incredibly hot. Add to the heat, people like sardines in a can. Dressing, cool, and staying hydrated is the best thing that you can do for yourself. Comfy shoes as well. I wouldn’t have traded it for anything though.
I recently got back from a European cruise and walked miles and miles in my Tevas. The new slim line ones. They really saved me! Wore the heck out of my jean jacket as it was cooler in the mornings/evenings. Also, I got a sling bag specifically for this trip and it was perfect. Kept my stuff close, and was convenient to get in and out of. Shawl is a must, just so many uses. I agree with bringing a small fan!!
I found this video really helpful. It's nice to see what you found useful and what you didn't end up using. I would love to see a full video of your girl's luggage, what was useful for them, and what didn't get used. 😀
Heavily agree with the sling/hammock for the kiddos!!! We have one parent go on first and set that up before folks get on - mainly because it goes over the back of the seat the kid is sitting in and I didn’t want to be weird getting in the way of the person behind us. I know I know I over analyzed and worried too much but it sort of scared me lol so get it set up asap then kiddo is just having a good time
I also printed sudoku and crosswords for our trip this summer! I have the oasis too so I’m glad to hear the pouch fit that size kindle and I can put my puzzles and pencil in it too!!!
I took the Beis Sports Sling as my bag for a similar trip and LOVED it!!!!! I just bought a plastic bottle and the bag has a water bottle pouch, which was so convenient. Fit my kindle, phone, cards, sunglasses, and more. Definitely recommend!
I love this kind of video thank you thank you thank you! We went on our first Disney Cruise 10 years ago and I so overpacked! I made a list of what I actually used on that trip and I still use it to this day because you forget between trips what you used and what you didn’t use!
I just got home from a domestic vacation yesterday… Just here within the United States… So this was really interesting and fun to watch…… Like all your videos always are. Very comforting very relatable. So glad you guys had a wonderful vacation and I can’t wait for the video where you chat about it more!☺️☺️❤️
Scalp burn is real! I am olive skinned and dark hair i never had it before until recently i experienced it one day it was really hot afternoon i have covered my body and face but neglected my scalp. Omg it hurt. Upf sunhats and upF shawls from coolibar are great
Having a neck air conditioner/neck fan is great because you don't have to hold it:) I usually use it when I go to Japan during summer (it's super hot & humid during summer there).
I also just came back from Greece and used a crossbody bag in the same cream color you showed and it was so dirty by the end of the trip. I put it in a laundry bag and threw it in my washer on cold water and it came out looking brand new.
I have a beis suitcase. Took to Ireland and it took the beating of travel really well. Easy to clean off the front. Looking to buy the carryon this winter.
Great video! I’m amazed that you took those long flights with 2 little kids! We just took a Disney cruise / 3 hour flight with my 18 month old and it was rough 🥲 I watched all the videos to prepare and packed all the snacks and activities… didn’t go well lol we literally cancelled our January Hawaii trip bc I don’t want to be stuck on a plane for 6 hours 😂
Jessica... the sudoko puzzles... I feel seen! 😂 I always pack these along with a mechanical pencil (because I'm not brave enough with jet lag to do them in pen 😂). I buy the puzzle books and mechanical pencils from the dollar store. I bet the 1 euro stores have them, too. I just leave the books and pencils in a pocket of my carry on so they're always there. Great mental exercises to keep you a bit more alert when traveling. Oh and greetings from upper left USA 🙂
I have flip-flops for the same reason as the slipper socks. The thought of walking around a hotel room-yuck! When we went to Florida I brought a smaller cross-body bag that I bought from Goodwill so if it had gotten dirty it's meh so what I paid $6.
Teva is pronounced as teh-vuh. It is a hebrew word for nature. I used to work for a retailer who sold the brand in our store, so I ordered complete lines of shoes directly from the company. The automated message that answered, as well as any sales representatives I talked to when I called to order, pronounced the name of their company the correct way. Just providing accurate information, not judging anyone for saying it differently...
Same cruise?? I was in Italy and Greece and on a Disney Cruise a little over a week ago. I wonder if we were on the same cruise? We were on the Disney Dream from June 17 to June 24th. You are so right about the heat. Pompeii almost did me in! I believe you mentioned something about Pedialyte? That would have been wonderful to have. You also mentioned an airplane "stuff" holder which I think is a great idea. My favorite thing I used was an Airplane Pocket which you slide on the tray and which I learned about on another blog. It's hard to explain, but it worked great!
I would love to see how you pack a carry on as your only luggage. I have plenty of space in a carry on but how do you fit all liquids(skin care, body care, makeup, shampoo, conditioner, etc) in a quart sized bag??
By buying plastic salad dressing tiny lunch containers, experimenting with would a whole container last 9 weeks, had enough face, eye creams to last 12 plus weeks, now use the containers all the time when swimming, plus put lotions into the small shampoo bottles.
This video was extremely entertaining and very informative. Really loved the unpack with me style and insight into what you actually used and didn’t. Would love more of this format on your upcoming travels. Also, have a 2 years old so thanks for including the kiddos items. 😊
This was the best video, all your suggestions are always incredible. I can’t get your lo and sons purse out of my head and thankfully, they are having a summer sale.🎉❤
Thank you for all these helpful tips. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves what we truly need to pack instead of packing things we think we need. It happens to me all the time and it takes up space for all the souvenirs I could of brought back 😂

Awww this means so much to me!!
I thought the same! I always just enough to have clean clothes every day and it never troubles me if they don’t ‘go together’! 😂
I’m packing for Italy next week what perfect timing!!
This was so much great information. As a veteran traveler to Europe, I still learned more than a few things. Thank you for sharing!
Love the SPF powder tip for the scalp!! I shared that with all my associates (I work at Ulta) to share with our guests! We’re in Orlando and always have guests from the parks this will benefit!!!!! ❤
Greece is the word in this world. I'd luv to go back there. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
The leg sling is my favorite airplane hack!!! Helps me feel way less sore after a long flight
Totally agree about the fan!! I went to London and Paris a few weeks ago. It was only on the low 70’s but boy I wished I hadn’t forgotten the fan especially with lack of AC and crowds on the street and metro.
Great idea for the powder sunscreen on the scalp!
I always travel with a shawl, just so handy to have💖
Flip flops are so practical and lightweight so there's no reason to not bring them.
Love, love this video - I really appreciate you taking the time to look back to see what you really used. So helpful 🫶🏻 Thanks so much for sharing!
I recently bought a UPF-50 coverup hoodie from Land’s End. It’s just enough to help you if there’s a chill, but not overly heavy, and because it’s thin, it doesn’t take up much space. (It’s kind of a rashguard material)
Well isn’t this the most clever video idea. Thanknyou for helping me get ready for some upcoming trips. Love love love this!
Great video, thanks for sharing! Another good sandal is the Sketchers foamies sandals. Sooo comfy, lighweight. 10/10!
I found you through travel packing videos way back in the day - they are always my favorite!
I almost passed out in Dubai from the heat 🤦🏾♀️… so I’m DEFINITELY packing hydration packs this trip.
I just went to Italy to Venice, Milan, Florence, Rome, Naples Sicily amalfi, & ALL OF THIS IS INCREDIBLY ACCURATE HOW I FEEL. if your someone who watched this and sees this comment. Trust jess. Enough said.
Glad I’m not alone!! And wow sounds like an INCREDIBLE trip!!
@@itsjessicabraun ah it was! Yours sounds so fun too!
Oooh the passport holder is brilliant!
I just returned from Europe and agree with so much of this! I am still in search of the perfect toiletry bag and am adding your new one to my list.
Saltstick electrolyte chews are like the pedialyte hydration packs, but you don't need water. They're like chewable vitamins.
haven’t even watched yet and i would love you to do a video like this every time you travel, they’re my favourite!
Saved so much time.
i got heatstroke as a child in italy in the summer. had to go to the hospital. the heat is no joke!
these are great travel tips, Jess, thank you ❤
I’m sure folks have said this but there are spray sunscreens specifically for your scalp
Sunbum has one.
I sweated so much in India I didn't really have to pee very often. I would drink water, but immediately I was sweating! That is a very good tip about the hydration packets!
Couldn’t have been more timely. We’re going Rome and Greece cruise this summer! Thank you for the recommendations!!!
I love vera bradly backpacks. My daughter has been using one for school for 2 years now. And it looks brand new. She is a 3 rd grader.
Can you do a short video on travel tips with small kids? More so on long flights. My kids are 4, 6 and 8.
I found this video really helpful. It's nice to see what you found useful and what you didn't end up using. I would love to see a full video of your girl's luggage, what was useful for them, and what didn't get used. 😀
really, the most useful video I've seen recently preparing to my own trip!
I always ❤ your outtro music! So nice compared to an abrupt video end. So cheerful!
I have a Sudoku app on my phone that I use.
So glad you guys had a wonderful vacation and I can’t wait for the video where you chat about it more!☺️☺️❤️
So helpful - thank you! I am heading to Greece the first week of July and will definitely use some of your tips!
Scalp burn is real! I am olive skinned and dark hair i never had it before until recently i experienced it one day it was really hot afternoon i have covered my body and face but neglected my scalp. Omg it hurt. Upf sunhats and upF shawls from coolibar are great
You are absolutely glowing in all the photos you shared 🩷
I will gladly watch this again. ♥️♥️♥️
Having a neck air conditioner/neck fan is great because you don't have to hold it:) I usually use it when I go to Japan during summer (it's super hot & humid during summer there).
The photos of you and Tyler dressed up are SO cute!!
Thank you so much!!
Your eye makeup is beautiful in this video. Lovely application!
Can’t wait to hear all about the trip! We are going on a similar trip to Rome and a cruise to Greece next May, so this was so helpful!
Sounds like an amazing trip! We love Italy! Greece is on our bucket list. Thanks for an excellent video. I’m a chronic over packer. 😜
This was such a helpful video. Much better than a What Im Packing ahead of time. 👏 Thank you!
It's hard to explain, but it worked great!
ooh, I love love love my travel foot sling. I'm also pretty short so it's a MUST for me!!
Your hair looks so good styled like this. I love it.
Also, you went to my bucket list place (Greece, Rome and Italy!) glad you had a great time 😊
Thank you for all these helpful tips. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves what we truly need to pack instead of packing things we think we need. It happens to me all the time and it takes up space for all the souvenirs I could of brought back 😂
OH HOW I wish that could travel more. My mom has dementia and I feel guilty if I leave but I want to live my life also. :(
I’m going on my first cruise in January and really appreciate these types of vids. Taking notes
Would love to hear a video focused on tips on traveling internationally with small kids! I feel like y'all have traveled more than once now (right?).
So helpful and interesting. Great information. You are a joy to listen to.
Hi Jessica love your videos thank you so much ! WELCOME HOME ❤ Watching you from Napoli 🇮🇹
Love all your videos. You are are so real.
This is so helpful! Love videos like this!!
