I'm looking forward to your comparison videos all the time. Your Enigma comparison video is the best. Very excited to see the comparison for Amouage Reflection man! I hope you will do Jubilation 25 vs Jubilation 40 in the future. Cheers!
I’m in love with reflection 45!! I find it layers beautifully with citrus aromatics . Wow wow. I love the way you interpret reflection man . Everything I agree with it literally smells how the bottle looks, I like to say it smells clear but you took it to another level with your description love it !
Hey I’m trying to find a vintage bottle of reflection man but besides the non magnetic cap is there another way to tell just by looking at pics . I don’t wanna end up buying the magnetic cap version since I’m going off pics an not in person
I've always overlooked these two but after this review, I have to get myself samples of both! Thanks you for the detailed comparison. R 45 sounds like something I would love!
I really dislike the original Reflection. To me, it is one of the most uninteresting Amouage releases in a way that it smells very typical and sporty to my nose. But Relfection 45 was an instant love for me that I had to purchase a full bottle. 45 is richer, denser and while it hits many of the same notes as the original, it projects in such a gorgeous and atmospheric way that it feels as if the scent is literally enveloping you in its warm purple cloud. I adore the cardamom+benzoin combination in the opening as well. This Extrait release gives me hope that the new Jubilation 40 could also be great. Also, have you checked out the 500 bottle limited release version of the original formulation Gold Man in the vintage presentation bottle design? That one is said to be an extrait as well(OG was EDT) and rumored to be Oman only release since it contains some un-IFRA-friendly ingredients. Thank you for your valuable opinions as always!
I discussed this topic in the video if memory serves...but no i dont think it is redundant... in fact it is one of the more original "exceptional extraits" IMHO
Great video Ramsey. Please do the Interlude comparison next :) I think (I53 and IOG) are almost identical but would love to hear your take on it. Cheers!
The original Reflection Man in the Khanjar bottle is less sweet, drier and more herbal than Reflection Man with the non-magnetic cap. I think the notes towards the end of your review refer to Amouage's description of Reflection Man in the Khanjar bottle. When Amouage moved to the rectangle bottles, the formulation was sweetened and the edges rounded. If you have the inclination decant some Amouage Reflection Man EDP, add a few drops of Indian sandalwood oil and give it some time for maturation. It brings out the sweetness of the jasmine, smoothens the composition, and transforms it into a silver silk-like fragrance. It took me a few years to appreciate the beauty of Reflection Man.
Reflection 45 is a masterpiece in my collection. The longevity is crazy, lasting 18 hours. The projection is soft, powdery, and vanillic, which is something I love about 45. If someone asked me to show them my highest quality fragrance, it would be Reflection 45.
I can't wait for your review and comparison of interlude and its flankers. Also a review of jubilation and a comparison to jubilation 40 when it comes out would be amazing!
Yes!! I love them both, and own Reflection 45 its so special. Really remeinds my of a more oriental Fleur du Male, without the Chamomile note. I still got some 30mls from my og 2007 Fleur du Male bottle also. 🎉
I used to love this one years ago but the enthusiasm has waned some. I recently picked up Tauer L'Air Suisse Alps and that one is a bit more interesting to me and I've been wearing that.
Only own the OG, great grab for any occasion. Personally tends to be when I actually care to avoid insulting anyone with my fragrance... or my wife gets to choose. Would absolutely swap for R45 though, but agree regarding price etc. Hope to see more of these comparisons. Great stuff, man!
love that you did this video dude. i really enjoy 45 as well as the original. i like to say the o.g. is powdery, but the 45 is like old school talc, super thick end of the powdery scale where it feels like an extension of the resins and incense ingredients. then theres also the florals...its really something that begs to be analyzed carefully in my opinion. i honestly get some skank in it though, its like really carefully slightly dirty (maybe animalic?). to me its a dirty jasmine thing. thank you for another good one man!
@@RamseytheRam p.s. got that bottle of adp colonia ambra with me finally lol, got atomizers coming in the mail. ill shoot you an email when i send it out. im trying to think of something else to send with it but im not sure if i have anything you dont already.
I keep trying and wanting to love my decant, but I'm not sure it will ever be bottle worthy to me until I start earning more. Because that bottle is so damn awesome looking I def want it. Though I will say fate man and portrayal man bottles are about as awesome. I haven't tried NEAR as many fragrances as you have... But I will say that the fragrance i sniffed that gave me what I wanted from reflection 45 was Carved Oud by thameen, which I instantly bought. It is powdery, woody and balsamic and fresh as hell while having a lot of depth and smelling extremely natural. The rooty earthy aspects of 45 with the low projection and just not usually hitting right for me make it a no go at present, but maybe I will come around later. So many amouages I pulled the trigger on a couple years after dismissing.
I wouldn’t say 45 is better in the sense of it’s a better version but I do prefer it more than the OG. It’s my favorite of the Extraits and I paid $245 for it. So that helps.
Cheers Rams enjoyed this one, I enjoy my OG bottles from Amouage for sure and was quite proud of my collection, now with The amped up oil versions I kinda feel deflated lol, however with their price point and such I’m not taking the bait , similar but different?? Is it as different and as far apart as the pricing on these bigger oil content flankers hahaha. Anyways, I wonder if the intend to run both in their line up or retire the OG bottles ??,who knows ,cheers nicely done ✌️🙏👍
Went in to get a travel size TOBACCO VANILLE… like the projection of MUSC RAVAGEUR more… and then!!! I smelled ROYAL TOBACCO… now I might have to get that

You better believe I want your take on Jubilation 40. I know Chris from Frag-Mental really likes this one. But always keep an open mind! Something I'm still working on with nearly 5,000 releases a year. 😵
I loved Reflection Man when I got into this amazing passion, but now my taste has changed after my nose started to gain more experience. At the moment, it's not even in my top 10 Amouage fragrances, but I still find this a classy, signature scent-worthy perfume. I prefer the 45 honestly, but it's so expensive for what it has to offer IMO. Yes, it's beautiful, refined, and probably the best extrait from the bunch, but I think I have better options at that price. Cheers, Ram!
@@tomgillman9555 Hey, Tom! I believe that Amouage is doing these extraits just to milk more money. The EDP’s are great and you can find great deals for them, and the performance it’s still 8+ hours. For 500 bucks you can find for example a vintage non magnetic Jubilation 25 that it will be for sure better than the new Jubilation 40. At 500 bucks I would go for a Roja Dove fragrance honestly. Ramsey spoke some great words about Bortnikoff, Areej Le Dore, Papillon, Les Abstraits and others that have prices between 150-400 bucks depending on the house. I’ve only tried Les Abstraits from the mentioned houses and the fragrances were outstanding, all three of them. The other houses mentioned are on my to sniff soon list, but I trust Ramsey’s nose and I’ve seen his interviews with the founders of these houses and their speech and passion was amazing. 500 bucks for an Amouage is too much imo, and I love this house so much. 200-250 bucks I would pay for their fragrances, and usually you can find deals on them for that price, but don’t double the price for an extrait and some little extra details on the bottle.

I very much like reflection Man. I got a sample from Reflection 45 and i was let down. The opening smells fanstastic but the dry down smells like an oid paint which i don't lke at all. Chong's Era cannot be revived anything the new will do.
