I was a huge Beatles fan and I was so excited to hear a modern band and their take on the sound and lyrics. The song 'Don't Look Back In Anger', by the British band Oasis, is one of the most emblematic songs of the group and of the Britpop movement of the 90s. With a catchy melody and a powerful chorus, the song became an anthem of a generation and carries in its lyrics a mix of personal reflection and a call for emotional liberation. The title of the song, which loosely translates to 'Don't Look Back In Anger', already suggests a message of leaving behind resentment and moving forward. The lyrics begin with an introspection, inviting the listener to delve within themselves and consider the possibility of finding a better place to 'play', that is, to live. The reference to a revolution started from one's own bed can be interpreted as an internal change, a decision to transform one's life based on a personal attitude, instead of waiting for external changes. The character Sally, mentioned in the chorus, symbolizes someone who is stuck in the past and unable to move forward. The song advises against looking back in anger, a message that resonates with many listeners who are faced with the challenge of overcoming the past and its pains. The song also criticizes the rock'n'roll lifestyle, warning against putting one's life in the hands of a rock band that could waste it. In short, 'Don't Look Back In Anger' is a call for resilience and optimism, encouraging everyone to not dwell on past hurts and to look to the future with hope and determination.

MASSIVE Oasis fan here, Oasis are a massive rabbit hole to go down, they are so much more than Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger and Champagne Supernova. I have been a fan of Oasis since I was 12 years old I am now 42, I have followed them religiously through the years. Real Oasis fans know the majority of their gems are their B sides. I would recommend listening to stuff from their first album Definitely Maybe which had a bit more of a punk vibe but their sound changed with each album, this is from the Album (What's The Story?) Morning Glory another great album. Start with Supersonic, Live Forever, Headshrinker, Columbia. Another great from (What's The Story?) Morning Glory is Cast No Shadow which Noel Gallagher (The brother singing this song) dedicated to Richard Ashcroft of the band The Verve (another great band). "Start a revolution from my bed" line was because that's what John Lennon and Yoko Ono tried to do.
Just incase you didn't notice Wonderwall is sung by Lead singer Liam Gallagher, and Don't look back in anger was sung by his older brother Noel Gallagher. Both released on the same album what's the story(morning glory) released in 1995. A very deep rabbit hole has been opened

Pretty overrated I think.
One good album. Then, one good song - Don’t Look Back In Anger. Then, mediocrity ever since.
"Gonna start a revolution from my bed" - direct reference to Lennon.
The song also starts with the piano playing the same chords used in Imagine.
"Stand up beside the fireplace" was also a very common Irish thing to do when getting photos taken. Communions etc.
