One neat trick about throwing ender pearls: throw a snowball before it! Snowballs and ender pearls have the exact same range, so a snowball can help you determine where the ender pearl is going to land.
I just did a dragon fight the other day with 4 other people. We all jumped in at once, it spawned us all inside each other and entity cramming pushed 3 people off the edge. Moral of the story use the portal one at a time.
Yeah, everything spawns in the exact centre of the platform, no matter what part of the portal you used. Same if you throw in anvils or cows or whatever.
Of you kill the dragon over the perch, XP will end up going through the opened portal to 0,0. Go to 0,0 in the overworld to pick it up before it despawns. Same goes for anything you accidentally throw into the portal!
A tip- If its becoming a lot harder for you to take down those end crystals, then just climb up one of the higher towers and that will be much easier for you
Ya I do that only but sometimes you have to be careful cause the dragon can come and push you off then u have to mlg water bucket or have an enderpearl to clutch
@@annabond524 or put water around the base of the tower! I mean if you are with other players you might look cooler if you did the water bucket trick instead
I remember watching this on Season 1, wondering to myself how'd I even do that. Now that I'm more knowledgeable about Minecraft, this still gives me such a sense of nostalgia
The nostalgic part of Minecraft for me is actually having a flock of chickens lol i only started playing a few years ago but no matter what I would always have a chicken pen close to my “house” so I would hear them all the time. So when I hear a few chickens clucking in Minecraft it brings me back.
When you made season 1 you fought the dragon in episode 20 or so while now it's 50. I'm really happy you spent more time in the mid game and I also appreciate that you played the track that actually plays during the boss fight instead of '' the end''
I came across the Boss music in the Minecraft Wiki recently, and realised I'd never heard it before! It doesn't appear in either of C418's published Minecraft albums, and I don't recall it from fighting the dragon back in 2014... which was the last time I actually played Minecraft with the music volume turned up.
8:36 just another couple things to add to the list of blocks that you can use in survival mode, that won't be destroyed by the dragon, so can be useful if you're worried about your bridge from the platform to the island or your pillar up the side of a tower being destroyed: >endstone and obsidian (as mentioned by Pixlriffs) but you can't get endstone before arriving in the end, and you can stock up on obby, but it's a slow process mining it or bartering for it >crying obsidian - you get around twice as much from piglin bartering as you do regular obsidian! >respawn anchors (since they're made of crying obby) which while probably too expensive to use as a bridge/pillaring block, can be exploded when charged up & used, which deals an enormous amount of damage to the dragon if you position & time it well) >iron bars! they're also in the list of blocks naturally found in the end, but Pix didn't highlight them in the moment, and they could be a cheap pillaring block, as with 24 iron nuggets you can get a full stack of iron bars
18:46 had to learn this the hard way when I fought the dragon for the first time. I set up a few chests and an enderchest down there so when I die I can immediately get geared up as I get back only to find out that when I jumped into the portal it deleted all of my chests leaving me only with the stuff that fell from me when I died.
I found this out the hard way too. Until I saw this video, I thought I had a glitch in my game. And probably would have tried it again. I’m glad to have an explanation to avoid it next time.
Looking ahead to the end city raiding, there is a strategy I was thinking about using next time I do it. When going into that one tall tower that’s lined with shulker: instead of worrying to fall or take a bunch of damage, I want to try and use res, regen, strength and slow falling potions and just rise up taking them out one by one. Might just be the least stressful method.
I've just got back from end raiding after nearly dying no less than five times (damned shulkers had me on half a heart multiple times, and being on bedrock, health regeneration takes forever) and I wish I'd thought to bring potions! I'm I'm eternally grateful that end ships spawn with health potions because heck did I need them.
Good luck on your search for Elytra. In my current world I found five end cities all without a ship before finally finding an end ship at the sixth. I used almost a whole shulker box of blocks for bridging before I was able to get my Elytra.
If you set your spawn at the portal you can always just break the bed afterwards, jump back into the end and then run over to the return portal again to get back to spawn. That is, if your base is near spawn of course.
Great Video Pix, I liked how you covered everything about the central end island and the End Gateways. I believe the Netherrite boots prevented some of the knockback from the Dragon, I remember watching a Tango dragon fight, and even in a few myself where I was thrown as high as the tallest pillar. I actually had time to drink the slow fall potion on the way down.
I am glad you skipped the End poem. I still get chills reading it. I agree everyone should experience it the 1st time for themselves while still full of the endorphins from defeating the dragon.
Happy 50th episode of season 2! I am excited to learn some tips about end city raiding, as I have only just started being brave enough to go end city raiding!
Can’t wait to see what happens next episode, hopefully you have good luck in finding an elytra quickly. First time I wanted to get one it took me like 2 hours of exploring, it was painful. And I primarily used ender pearls to get between the islands rather than bridging because it was faster. I think I traveled over 3000 blocks. Multiple cities before I found one with a ship. I do think pearling rather than bridging to get across the void is the better option because you can cover so much more ground in the same amount of time, I just made sure to use a backup set of armour and tools in case I messed up a throw and fell into the void.
Pro Tip. If you dig a 1-Block deep trench around a 2-High ceiling to fight Endermen under, they will fall in it and not be able to Teleport while you whack them.
Tips: 7:24 You can use water Carry golden apples as well as golden carrots/beef(golden carrots preferably) Get a good protection(Prot 4 if possible) (For more advanced players and not really beginners) Take beds with you so that when the dragon perches down, it takes more damage 15:43 Don't use blocks they pickup, like dirt.
Hey, Pixlriffs, I'm relatively new to the game and just defeated the Ender Dragon following along with your tutorial. Thank you very much for your help--on to the End Cities and beyond!
Thank you Pix! I defeated the dragon for the first time today. I watched this video twice before I did it. It really helped and I didn’t die! I’m so happy :)
That's what I'm waiting for. I think 1.6 or 1.7 was the last time I made an Enderman farm. I know about Endermites etc, but Pix always seems to have a really simple build style that just works.
To new subscribers of Pix, this is when things get really good!!! After the first dragon fight, new doors open and your creativity really gets put to use. If you've never killed the dragon because you're nervous or anxious, try it with a pumpkin or on peaceful mode. You'll still have to fight the dragon but at least endermen won't be an issue. Have fun! 😊
Defenely this is something that can help out to all new people in community. Its not a big deal to kill him at all, just prepair with good armor, bow, arrows, some op sword, and good luck :) Nice video also :DD
In bedrock edition you cant shoots through that iron bar cage gap but.. you can you water to crouch under blocks which you move way faster then the java one
I always enjoy watching your videos, and I love how, when it comes to fighting the Ender Dragon and covering the results, you mention the dangers of the gateways. I missed the portal once, having hit the bedrock, and my fate is exacty what was covered. Never trying that again haha Hopefully your elytra comes quick in this series.
I find using ladders to be easier then scaffolding, 1 you don't need to find any bamboo and 2 if the dragon flies into them it only removes the ones it hits.
Thanks for explaining about the items being destroyed when you come back to the end. In my 1st fight, I spawned in a nice underground spot that I made into a little oasis. I put my ender chest in there. I died because of endermen swarming me at the same time the dragon fired a ball at me immediately upon spawning in. I didn't use a pumpkin in my 1st fight so I could see where the dragon was. Well, I died, so when I came back, the chest was gone, though there was one pickaxe still floating there. I am guessing it was within that radius that caused most of my kit to disappear. I didn't have anything I needed in the chest when I died, except the tools for the outer end cities. I was able to get my things where I died and I didn't die before beating the dragon. I've now since even beaten the dragon on hard and I do use pumpkins, as intended, no resource packs, so I'm not distracted by endermen and can just get the portal to the outer cities quickly. You get used to the overlay. :) But TIL why I lost my enderchest in my first fight.
I had an idea to be honest, and that is after the first Ender Dragon fight, when you jump through that portal, record the whole poem, but don't include it in the video, but rather cut it out for later use, alongside with the music that acompanies the end credit screen, since reading bunch of text without a proper music track gets kinda boring, but the original soundtrack that plays during the end credit screen makes it so satisfying to watch. In case you don't know, the end credit music is called "Alpha" on C418's album "Minecraft: Volume Beta", you can listen to it, or even better, look up the rolling end credit screen with the music already filmed (if you have seen the end credits a few times to be honest), and you'll realise how powerful it is.
Although it was slow I found it worthwhile to dig into the island and mine out a couple of stacks of endstone to use for pillaring up. The dragon didn't attack me as long as I stayed one block beneath the surface. Also I found it helpful to take a strength potion mostly to make it easier to dispatch angry endermen quickly.
Tip: if you are a loyalty trident user then beware, loyalty tridents won't come back to you if it goes to the void. This is because the trident needs to hit something to return back to the player but in the void there is nothing to hit. Same applies for Ender pearls. They won't work unless it hits a block
As somebody with both kinophobia and acrophobia, the End is like a nightmare hellscape and it really doesn't get much easier with exposure either. I am constantly tense when I visit it, and this video was even hard to watch at points. My end platform and gateways are always entombed in tons of cobblestone laid down out of paranoia. 😅
One slow, but safe way to take down end crystals is to mine into the exact centre of a pillar and climb up. When you're in the exact centre of the pillar, the dragon can't reach you. Be sure to block your entrance way with obsidian before you climb up. You end up directly underneath the end crystal. Go down a few blocks to avoid damage and shoot the crystal. Consider shooting some other crystals from this high position. Block your way down with an obsidian block to avoid being hit with dragon's breath.
Can it actually not hit you inside the pillars? The dragon can fly through blocks. If it can't hit you in there, maybe it's because it doesn't see you?
It's worth noting that if you're a fast reader, the End poem is worth reading but does scroll VERY slow. You can speed the text up by holding either Ctrl key, I believe, and holding Ctrl + Shift speeds it up even more. Also a fun tidbit that isn't *useful* per se but is neat to notice: As long as the ender dragon is alive, there is a fog over the central End, much like there is in the Nether. When the dragon dies, the fog clears!
How lucky it is to have another return portal directly next to the one you came through. That way you could set up a wither rose farm in a lot of further episodes without having to go around searching for one. I would love to have one close by myself instead of a fair travel from the step through. xD
Small detail i noticed that went through the editing, if anyone was confused at around 10:08 he meant the dragon is immunte to projectile damage and not immune to melee damage.
Something I noticed that you appear to not have considered: you can quickly get back to your base after setting your spawn at the stronghold by just breaking your bed and going back into the end to take the exit portal again!
Use carved pumpkin as helm + looting sword for enderman use carved pumpkin + axe and you can kill dragon in about 5 or 6 swoops without doing crystals the helm stops enderman from attacking you if you not hit them
One note about respawning the dragon (java), there is a small chance after a few battles for the dragon to accidentally go thru an end gateway, accidentally duplicating the dragon, removing the health bar from the dragon on the other side of the gateway and running the risk of destruction of any builds a player may build on the main island (when the dragon on the other side of the gateway is loaded in after this occurs it will fly for the main island over the void as it is programed to fly toward 0,0 on the main island). The reason for this is due to the game checking for if the end exit portal is open and if not as it deactivates during each fight, checks for a dragon on the main island, as the game is not intended to trap the player with no way to escape the end, if a dragon is not found it will spawn a new dragon on the main island to defeat and kill. This isn't something that happens often but can occur and it is always a good idea to after opening all the gateways (before building anything on the main island) to go thru, build to, or fly to each outer island main gateway to both check for problematic dragons, and to check for and make good spawning areas on the off chance the gateway spawned in a bad spot in the outer islands.

I once died to the ender dragon's dragon breath because I didn't realize I had particles turned off, so I couldn't see the dragon breath at all, and inadvertently just walked right through it. Be sure that particles are turned on so this doesn't happen to you!
Did the caving and fishing trips Livestream, where while caving I found another mineshaft. There I found a skeleton dungeon with a otherside music disc. Then I did episode 20 where I got a donkey and a horse
@@rudrodeepchatterjee It's called playing along with the series. A good way for new players to try out all the things Pix shows off. And of course there's no need to follow along at the same pace or in the same order, if you decide to follow along at all.
Hey Pix, I absolutely love the series!! But please don't tell me you are never going to ride viola again once you've obtained your wings, it's always such a shame to never seen people walk/use horses again as soon as they get their wings.
Does XP which falls into the home portal in the end still end up going to world spawn? I always wonder how much XP I miss by not going back to world spawn to get what came through.
Yo! You killin' me using all that XP on Knockback II and Sharpness III. If it's not a good enchant you should always use the level 1 enchant option and then you can just grind the book to do it again.
Hey Pix, I'm sure you've been asked this before but have you considered bring a part of hermitcraft? I think you would be an amazing fit with the players over there and I'm really interested to see what you could do in that type of smp.
I would have to be invited to join a server like Hermitcraft - it's not something I can just choose to join. Honestly, though, at this point I'm much happier just doing my own thing. Big servers like that are stressful, and all the creators put so much time and effort into making things bigger and bigger every season. I think I'd burn out very quickly in an environment like that!

I would love to have one close by myself instead of a fair travel from the step through. xD
10:44 I never thought that the bedrock fountain is its nest
10:19 you said it the wrong way around haha
12:07 Ah yes, a man of culture
Small detail i noticed that went through the editing, if anyone was confused at around 10:08 he meant the dragon is immunte to projectile damage and not immune to melee damage.
Pix! will there be a World Tour and 101 questions on the 100th and 101th episode of the Minecraft Survival Guide2, like the Guide1?
12:07 you are a man of culture, i see
💀 lol
Thank you for recording.
New era has begun!
This video is 1 minute longer than the dragon video next season, thats consistent
It used to be a lot harder when the piller were scattered randomly
"69 levels - very nice" indeed.
Something I noticed that you appear to not have considered: you can quickly get back to your base after setting your spawn at the stronghold by just breaking your bed and going back into the end to take the exit portal again!
Wouldn’t that take you back to the worlds spawn though? Which, for some players (like me lol) could be thousands of blocks away from their base.
@@ChronicallyJess It would. I'm assuming he/she probably said that because Pix is living near his world spawn.
Pixlriffs is our Minecraft teacher☺👍
Use carved pumpkin as helm + looting sword for enderman use carved pumpkin + axe and you can kill dragon in about 5 or 6 swoops without doing crystals the helm stops enderman from attacking you if you not hit them
The enderman at the end went, "Hey Pix, heard you fought off the drago- oh sugarcane you're recording sorry I'll leave."
best minecraft Serie i ever watch
Congrats on this milestone! Looking forward for the next dragon fights, hopefully you’ll be doing one cycles and zero cycles hahaha
12:06 - nice.
Yesss waited for this 🙌🏻
One note about respawning the dragon (java), there is a small chance after a few battles for the dragon to accidentally go thru an end gateway, accidentally duplicating the dragon, removing the health bar from the dragon on the other side of the gateway and running the risk of destruction of any builds a player may build on the main island (when the dragon on the other side of the gateway is loaded in after this occurs it will fly for the main island over the void as it is programed to fly toward 0,0 on the main island).
Just a suggestion, turn on hit boxes, it’s a lot easier to see where the dragon is and aim you arrows.
Random Person:
How long have you played Minecraft?
Me:
Oh 9 years.
Person:
So you’ve defeated the dragon before?

(My goals are beyond your understanding…)
On bedrock it isn’t possible to shoot the end crystals in cages from the bottom of the cage, as the hitbox of the iron bar is larger?
Everyone gets excited for Elytra but I'm excited for caving with an Ender chest full of Shulker boxes.
I once died to the ender dragon's dragon breath because I didn't realize I had particles turned off, so I couldn't see the dragon breath at all, and inadvertently just walked right through it. Be sure that particles are turned on so this doesn't happen to you!
We could reposition the bed in the portal room after we defeated the dragon and go back to the end, only to return to the spawn point.
Did the caving and fishing trips Livestream, where while caving I found another mineshaft. There I found a skeleton dungeon with a otherside music disc.
Then I did episode 20 where I got a donkey and a horse
Why?????
@@rudrodeepchatterjee It's called playing along with the series. A good way for new players to try out all the things Pix shows off. And of course there's no need to follow along at the same pace or in the same order, if you decide to follow along at all.
Note for bedrock players. Boats don’t work on endermen. Better to take a bucket of water.
Thia is a good episode!
yay im early for once!!! also i love S2 smmm i look forward for the episode every day
“69 levels. Very nice.” ahh yes you’re right.
Super excited for this one
Hey Pix, I absolutely love the series!!
But please don't tell me you are never going to ride viola again once you've obtained your wings, it's always such a shame to never seen people walk/use horses again as soon as they get their wings.
Does XP which falls into the home portal in the end still end up going to world spawn? I always wonder how much XP I miss by not going back to world spawn to get what came through.
I did it! I've never beaten a video game. Ever, lol. I usually lose interest before I get there. Thanks!
I guess next week's beginning is end-themed, so are you planning on respawning the dragon next week. Or will you do it later on in the series?
9:16 Me and my friends going to the washroom
"That should be aVOIDed" lol, nice pun bro 😂
