For anyone worried about bridging over the void, I recommend switching crouch to toggle-able in the settings! This will make it so you only have to press the button once in order to always crouch, which I appreciated since I found it a struggle to keep it always pressed. You might want to practice with it in a less high-risk situation though, since it can take some getting used to!
Crouch toggle is a godsend for my arthritis, and it always confuses me when pros like the Hermits complain about their fingers hurting from holding crouch, when it’s been in the game since 1.14. More people need to know about it.
I had to do this. My hand would just get so cramped, or I'd be too jumpy and weeee there I go. It's not a sign of weakness! It's working smarter, not harder!!
End city raiding has been my favorite pastime since I started playing, when I started playing 1.17 with the knowledge I could build a shulker farm, I found myself completely bypassing the Shulkers, poking holes in the roofs to access the chests, and moving onto the next city, and I found it to be a much less enjoyable and engaging experience. I've gone into my new 1.18 world with plans to not make a shulker farm just so I have a reason to fight the Shulkers again. It's a fantastic mechanic, and if I was playing on a server I would absolutely take full advantage of it. But in my own world it's definitely less necessary. I hope the end gets an update similar to the nether update soon with new biomes and mobs to bring back a little of that lost necessity and enjoyment from end exploration.
Pretty sure he will mention it in future episodes when end raiding but I recommend to brake the ship mast or build a pillar on the roof of the end city to easily identify you have already looted the end city. Specially if playing on multiplayer server as there is nothing worse then get excited for your first elytra to only find out the city has been already raided by someone else. Happy end raiding everyone 👍
I usually break some walls and roof from all the tower rooms I have visited. Then it is easy to know which rooms have no more shulkers or loot chests. Of course the city looks like a warzone after a visit but since all the residents are gone why should I not make my game easier that way. It also gives me lots of endstone tile blocks and purple blocks to use for building my own stuff.
If anyone else is a giant wimp like me, you can cheese phantoms by building a "cage" of sheared cobwebs on top of a tall structure in the overworld. After a few days of insomnia, the phantoms will get stuck in the cobwebs while attacking and you'll have plenty for repairing your elytra and potion making! 👍
Yup. The Looting enchantment only cares about being held in the main hand as the mob dies, not that the kill was caused by the weapon it is on. You could literally punch a mob off a cliff with your bare hand and quickly switch to your Looting sword to still get the effect when the mob craters.
It's the other way btw. Having a looting III sword in your offhand and killing a mob with a bow in your main hand applys the looting affect to the "killed by bow" mob.
23:44 with Chous fruit you will teleport to a block 8 blocks away on Z and X cords not y cords at random endermen can teleport to any solid block that is at a max of 32 blocks away making a sphere around the endermen on where to teleport (the fruits effect is a nice counter to the shulkers and can be used a a mlg (yes eating is now a mlg))

My first ever pixlriffs video was him raiding an ocean monument in S1, where he just casually flew threw the nether. I didn't know what this was! So naturally, my SECOND ever video was the S1 end cities, shulkers and elytra. Oh how the time flies... Thanks for this Pix! :-)
Another fun thing about elytra: While flying/gliding, you are slightly less than a block tall, similarly to when you swim. (I don't remember the exact height, but it's low enough to fit into the "repeater tube" of a row of item filters.) You can use that to get into the end gateway "egg", because that one doesn't teleport just ender pearls, but actually any entity that touches the center block, including players or mobs. And I believe, unlike nether portals, this even goes for boats or minecarts with passengers.
@@rudrodeepchatterjee IIRC the passenger restriction only applies to transfers between dimensions, not simple teleportation within the same dimension, or specifically for the end gateway. In fact, it looks like the end gateway block specifically knows to handle passengers for that purpose.
I did not know end rods were craft able. That's why I like pixlriffs. Even though I've been playing for quite awhile, there is still things I learn from him.
If you’re scared that your pinky won’t be able to hold the shift button for a long time, I’d recommend going into the control settings by pressing “esc” and then controls and there you can clicking the option to toggle crouching or sneaking. This way, you only have to press shift once to toggle crouching and then you can bridge safely while only pressing back and the right click button
Great episode pix. Last season's episode on how to fly is when I think I started watching this series. I hadn't played since the horse update (whatever it was called?) but had seen youtubers with wings and didn't know what they were.
I like to place torches while bridging so if I have to go back across it later (like when returning after dying) to make it easier to see from a distance and prevent endermen spawning on it! I also like to make a special pair of leggings enchanted with projectile protection to help against the shulkers, which I tend to get killed by. I name them "Enderpants".
I remember the first time I went to the end, took me literal hours to find my first ship. Besides the first time, end busting is always one of my favorite activities on Minecraft
You can eat chorus fruit with full health so can eat as many as you like and the saturation will be much more and when your health gets reduce it will replenish in a much faster rate
The shulker combat looks so fun and floaty and unique compared to other Minecraft combat experiences, even though it was introduced so many updates ago.
The advancement "the city at the end of the game" being long is weird since the advancement pop-up needs to change text. I thought "a valuable city" would be a cool name as a parallel to "a terrible fortress".
Always drink a potion of slow falling(have some reserves in inventory also) and have ender pearls ready in your hotbar when bridging over in the end. People always think that they don't need this step and that they are capable of bridging over until once they accidentally die and regret skipping this step and lose motivation to continue playing.
Just wanted to say I appreciate what you do in your videos. Your videos are what I wish I had years ago when I started and knew nothing. I do actually still learn something new in each of your videos I watch which of course is nice. Keep doing what you're doing because what you're doing is informative and fun!
Funfact for anyone trying to farm Shulkers, Quickly change to your sword after firing an arrow to get the looting effect before the kill and you'll get more drops.
My OPINION is that Elytra is certainly a game-changing thing, but elytras are fairly inconsistent. You cannot stop midair using that. I believe that there should be another item (or an upgrade to the Elytra) that allows floating along with gliding.
Oh man there’s nothing quite like ending up with an uneven number of shulker shells at the end of the raid lol. I can’t help myself, I have to keep raiding until I get an even number. 😂
Ah yes, the warm and fuzzy feeling of a new Pixlriffs video! This one gave more nostalgia than usual because I learned to raid End cities from your S1 video and still do it pretty much the same way. :D
Hmm, it feels like that End gateway should have refreshed the spawn platform just like taking a portal into the End does! What happens if someone's dug out all the obsidian of the platform and then you try to use the gateway to go back to it?
I guess watching Hermitcraft and playing modded skyblock have got me a little desensitized to the wonder of climbing an end city and finding your first elytra. Thank you for bringing that wonder back.
A brief distance away from my first portal were two end cities both with ships. It took me a couple of hours to raid as I was taking it slow for my first time but I did it. I came away with 14 shulker boxes and a bunch if diamond gear. It was actually really fun to raid and your guide was really helpful
Hey Pix, I know you know this, as you talked about it in one of your SkyBlock videos (one about the Ghast farm, I believe), but if you hold your Bow in the off-hand and a Sword with Looting III in your main hand, you can still use your Bow as you normally would and the Looting effect still applies to any mob that you kill (in Java at least). That's my prefered method for dealing with Shulkers while still wanting to max my chances for Shulker Shell drops.
I can confirm... sadly that the totem doesn’t work when you fall into the void. I was looting the void with my full set of enchanted netherite tools and armor and lost it all while flying around. Luckily I can make another set though.
Kinda unrelated to this video but you saying that the elytra is the most useful and powerful item in the game makes me think that hopefully whatever loot the ancient deep dark cities have be as close if not equal to the gameplay impact of elytra whenever that is revealed to us.
Thanks for your videos. Got me to use more planning when i do stuff. I ended my world after struggling Base placed on a island and have to row across sea to my base. Started a iron farm. Realized that i placed my drowned zombie one level low. (I know.... I end up drowning the zombie in my attempt to get him struck) GOT mad of all the row row your boat. 🤣 To fragmented for me. Started a NEW world and its perfect!!! A hill in the Savannah with 3 small villages really close. And lot of sea nearby. Now i do a new fresh start on that map. Starting with creating farmlands, and then animals. Small steps to getting forward, Soon i try redo my ironfarm. Cheers!!!
In the hardcore mode of minecraft, if you are scared of the tube sections full of shulkers due to the amount of damage that they can deal at once as a group, taking on the shulkers from the top side of that section is a great method to avoid dying from them (always bring a couple of back up shields and keep at least 1 in the hotbar to swap out in the event of the shield breaking), however, I would personally recommend getting a shulker in a minecart or boat and just making a farm, it is much safer and less stressful.
Question for anyone who may know. Has the holding your bow in your off hand with your looting sword in your main hand been removed? I found that to be the best way to hunt shulker shells. Works well for wither skeleton heads too.
Thank you for explaning everything so clearly. I was wondering if we could put shulker boxes inside shulker boxes when you explained it wouldn't work as it would break the game. Really like your videos, keep them coming 😃
We'll do that in this series eventually, but it's a long way off since it requires a lot of setup. We did it for an episode of the previous Survival Guide series though, and the method hasn't really changed :)
This doesn't work any more - it's been patched in Java Edition. It might still work if you have the sword in your main hand and fire the bow from your off-hand, but honestly it's not a problem now shulkers are farmable.
Just a heads up for those on bedrock. I’m assuming it’s not the same for Java because I think he would have done it. It’s a lot easier to fight the shulkers that are in the doorways from the inside. Then you don’t go floating off. Now to the bedrock part, you don’t need to just keep floating if you get it. If you hold crouch you go down even if you’re afflicted. It’s akin to falling though so don’t try it from too high in one motion.
9:43 If you play D&D(or similar things) it's like trying to put a Bag of Holding or a Portable Hole inside each other, it just destroys EVERYTHING!!! ;)
Hey pix, will you do a firework episode where you explain every effect and crafting recipe ? I think it wasn't in season 1 and fireworks are a bit underrated!!
Havent been to the end yet, so I didn’t know that those blocks are actually called “purpur” blocks and just thought you were pronouncing “purple” in an unusual way woops lol 😆
4:30 funny you say, back in 1.17 I found 4 cities all within view of one another found the first, saw another one in the distance, from there I saw another two. I think 3 of them had elytra
This end raiding episode reminded me of how pix procrastinated rebuilding the endcity for the museum when he messed up the orientation a bit lol. No hate though, I can't even build a dirt house perfectly *internal pain*.
Hey Pix, Great vid as always. Just wanted to check if you can still put a looting sword in your off hand and use the bow to still get the looting effect on the Shulkers?
bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-3304 lists 1.18.1 as an affected version. Interesting that it's still listed as an open bug and not "works as intended", since Bedrock had this behavior added intentionally, broke it in an update, then had "looting doesn't affect projectiles" opened as a bug and subsequently fixed to again match Java behavior... Edit - Pix says below it doesn't work on Java anymore. I haven't tested it myself.

everytime i end raid for the first time and i encounter an end city with ship i always go for the elytra first before raiding the whole structure because you can counter levitation effect by activating the elytra to glide. im playing on bedrock tho, so idk if it works on java

I've been waiting for this since the very start of going to the nether! Absolute amazing of a series this is
Yea I also like this episode. I've waited for long
If you’re scared that your pinky won’t be able to hold the shift button for a long time, I’d recommend going into the control settings by pressing “esc” and then controls and there you can clicking the option to toggle crouching or sneaking. This way, you only have to press shift once to toggle crouching and then you can bridge safely while only pressing back and the right click button
pinky? we use thumbs to hold shift obviously
Great episode pix. Last season's episode on how to fly is when I think I started watching this series. I hadn't played since the horse update (whatever it was called?) but had seen youtubers with wings and didn't know what they were.
WOW! It's almost a completely different game now than it was then! That's about when I started I believe!
This made my chuckle 🤭
Man that thumbnail and title reminds me of early days of season 1. How beautiful.
Wow I never knew you could glide slowly with slow falling thank you it's going to be sooo helpful
27:26 that sneaky baby zombie lol
12:16 If you hold your looting sword in your offhand when using a bow, the looting effect still works for some reason
Hey, when you have the levitation effect, you can use chorus fruit to get back down, just be careful because you could spawn on the edge of something
Chorus fruit always teleport you to a "safe" place. I always have them on me to escape from tricky situations.
I prefer getting odd numbers of shulker shells for my first raid coz the extra shell will be used for my storage item frame.
Nice, that's a good way to use it.
the first flight around your base when you return home hits different
Funfact for anyone trying to farm Shulkers, Quickly change to your sword after firing an arrow to get the looting effect before the kill and you'll get more drops.
The best survival guide ever.
Once i get the elytra it changes everything. Make building and long distance traveling much more convinient.
My OPINION is that Elytra is certainly a game-changing thing, but elytras are fairly inconsistent. You cannot stop midair using that. I believe that there should be another item (or an upgrade to the Elytra) that allows floating along with gliding.
I said this to state my disbelief towards the ''Make building' much more convenient.' point.
@@thejitendrashahofficial I see, that is a good point that i wasn't considering .
I have to say i love this series. its really inspiring and also nice to watch to relax
You can change the settings of sneak (crouch) to "toggle" if you don't like holding shift when bridging between islands.
You can, if you trust your keyboard set up….lol! A random keyboard disconnect can be fatal….you keep going forgetting you have to reset and….😳
I’ve been waiting to see you cover this for a while now. Thank you for this.
Finding an End city is quite difficult but when you get there you can enjoy looting everything there. Elytra Is my favourite
Hooray, keep thid up Pix, love this series.
I love this series pixlriffs
Notice that this video has the EXACT same title to the season one counterpart. Pixlriff's memory is insane
I saw some one with a ender chest full of shulker chests.... Brilliant.
Wow! I never knew it was possible to, effectively, farm end rods! I need to look out for chorus plant farms! Thank you!
To fragmented for me.
You always make my day Pix and also happy valentines from the Philippines!!💕
Mabuhay!
Hi pixlriffs can u please do an episode on how to farm mob heads??
We'll do that in this series eventually, but it's a long way off since it requires a lot of setup. We did it for an episode of the previous Survival Guide series though, and the method hasn't really changed :)
Finally was waiting for this 🔥🔥🔥
I've as well. It's really cool
Your videos are great, I love it a lot!!!!👍👍
You can hold your sword with looting on it in your off hand to have looting enchant effect on the bow, think it’s the only way to have range looting
when shooting your bow. have your looting sword in your off hand. this I believe adds the looting effect to the bow shots
27:27 a baby zombie went into the building😂
9:43 If you play D&D(or similar things) it's like trying to put a Bag of Holding or a Portable Hole inside each other, it just destroys EVERYTHING!!! ;)
Hey pix, will you do a firework episode where you explain every effect and crafting recipe ? I think it wasn't in season 1 and fireworks are a bit underrated!!
27:27 Baby Zombie running into the house lol
Why did I not know you could shoot down the chorus flowers? That is great.
been watching you for years! my main inspiration to start yt and you're still going.
Did it inspire you to buy subscribers
I had no ideia those purpur blocks were renewable. Well, I'm off to make a chorus fruit farm!
If you put your looting 3 sword in your off hand and your bow in your main hand, when you fire your bow you get the looting effect on your arrows.
I once spawned on top of a end ship. Never thought i would be this lucky
That happened to my team-mate during a Clash of the Creators event once and it was pretty awesome
@@Pixlriffs It happened to me too
Super! Never knew it was possible to spawn on an end ship.
@@thejitendrashahofficial oh
im a new fan pix! haha i can finally admit it cause its worth it! I love every vids you show us! thanks a lot!
Hey pix, wanted to tell you that a game (copy of minecraft) has used your clip from a vid explaining about redstone and made an ad
Yea i saw that ad yesterday
Havent been to the end yet, so I didn’t know that those blocks are actually called “purpur” blocks and just thought you were pronouncing “purple” in an unusual way woops lol 😆
I personally think shulker shells need another purpose in crafting. it would add more value to them and the uses could be interesting!
I think making levitation potions would be a perfect use for shulker shells, but sadly the devs have confirmed that they won't add levitation potions
Finding an end city competes with finding diamonds, it’s just so satisfying
4:30 funny you say, back in 1.17 I found 4 cities all within view of one another
found the first, saw another one in the distance, from there I saw another two.
I think 3 of them had elytra
This end raiding episode reminded me of how pix procrastinated rebuilding the endcity for the museum when he messed up the orientation a bit lol. No hate though, I can't even build a dirt house perfectly *internal pain*.
Hello Pixlriffs!!
Let’s go! Finally some back packs in Minecraft
I'm saying next episode you should do a creeper farm.
Looting endcities is really fun until you run out of them!
pixlriffs i was doing the dragon fight on my bedrock world and this guide was perfect since it came out at the same time
I’m not even 45 seconds into the video and my first thought is “did anyone else hear how passively salty Pix was about Fwip’s end spawn?” 😂😂
I haven't seen fWhip's videos. Did something fun happen?
@@Pixlriffs literally an end city and ship within 100 blocks of his very first portal hop. He cleared it quick, turns left to look at the next island over and BAM! Another end city with ship 😱
When I heard “some of us aren’t so lucky,” I assumed you were taking a little jab! 😅😂
Looting is also applied when you have the sword in the main hand while shooting arrows from the offhand
love your content keep iy up also id thefre going to be a second empires season?
everytime i end raid for the first time and i encounter an end city with ship i always go for the elytra first before raiding the whole structure because you can counter levitation effect by activating the elytra to glide. im playing on bedrock tho, so idk if it works on java
I just done my first end city raid in my recent world, I forgot the rockets and mending book.....ooooops! Great tips, thx Pix
Weekends are weekends... But jeez i missed a lot your daily video lol
Favourite time of night on time like always
Did episode 21 and the caving and spider and zombie spawner clean up stream today. Though I only had a zombie spawner to do.
I made my Iron farm out of purpur blocks and deepslate stairs on my old world, unfortunately I can no longer access the world as it won't generate after I updated it to 1.18 and went to the nether☹.
I now have a brand new world and looking forward to watching your videos on farming/exploration and any little tricks I may of missed
I find the end city and got the elytra but forgot to get the dragon head i have to trave again but now i have a elytra , its soo coool . I made my flight from the ship i made flight easily but got some damage while landing but now i am becoming better with every flight 🔥🔥
Dont go to the end islands until your comfortable bridging 😂 had the game on pc and it's taken about 2 months to get used to using my pinkie on the shift key 👌😅
Hey thanks from India for uploading at such a nice time.
Today I learned: You can destroy shulker bullets with arrows
To anybody reading this! Happy Valentines Day, hope you all enjoy and spend time with loved ones!
I really Loved your series
If you put your looting III sword in your off hand you can use your bow and get the benefits of looting III.
This doesn't work on Java Edition any more.
Chorus fruit will telaport you to the ground if you eat it after a shulker hits you.
Next time try to mine the stair then hold shift and push forward while mining the dragon head. :)
