I have a question: I’m on a budget and think of buying this phone but I heard that the screen doesn’t create good colors and it has a blue tint. Is this true and has it been fixed? Thanks
@@Steelers_19 some of the Pixel 2xl's have been known to have a blue tint when not looking directly at it. I believe I show what mine looks like half way in this video. It's kind of hit or miss when. It comes to the screens. Some have none some have a lot.
Late response but Pixel Pixel 1 - 2 - 3 cameras were created based on the vision on Marc Leevoy, photography engineer. After that, he left the company and each new Pixel tried to approach IPhone vision about photos. Also Pixel used to have a chip dedicated to photos. With Pixel 4 that was gone :( I think that's one of the two reason the cameras specially on old Pixel still look fantastic
2:56 It's because Google is using the ultra-wide angle camera and just crops the sides which are the most affected during camera shake + some software adjustments so they're gimbal like. Most phones with ultra-wide angle cameras have the same video effect too - even if the ultrawide doesn't have OIS unlike the main (telephoto/normal) camera. I'm watching your video cos I've bought one from FB marketplace for around 4,300PHP (85USD) which is cheap! I hope I'll love the camera quality like how I liked my Pixel 1. Awesome review and production btw! You should have more subscribers!
@@thehumblecanadian431 indeed it is! I'm actually stoked for the features I'm getting, and the previous owner didn't abuse the battery so I'm still getting 4 to 5 hours of screen on time. My Note9 gets the same witj a larger battery lol. I'm loving the camera, still can hang with a lot of smartphones these days.
Loving my pixel 2xl had it for 3 years and just hit my first problem with the camera crashing going to try a factory camera reset and hope it helps. If not im going for the pixel 5. But was hoping to hold out for the pixel 6 if it comes out
That's a huge bummer about the camera man. Hope the reset fixed it! It looks like some new releases are on the horizon. Probably worth holding out if you can.
Sorry bud, late seeing this. I honestly haven't noticed much of a difference at all with the autofocus. All the lenses are pretty wide on phones, even the telephoto ones, so getting focus usually isn't really a big deal to begin with.
Thanks, I have the IIXL and I have ben wondering what differences I would see if I upgraded We are not spending money these days so purchases like this are easier to contemplate
Thanks for dropping by! Sadly it's pretty hard to show the difference with the speakers. It basically sounds like you have one of the Pixel 2XL speakers on the bottom and a really flat speaker coming from the screen. If you plug the speaker hole on the bottom the good sound disappears and you just hear the flat one. It doesn't sound terrible, it could just be better eh.
I think the blue only affects the xl 2 not the regular pixel 2 I currently bought a pixel 2 and it runs like a clock even refurbished even the bettary last a while. Day maybe more
If they were forced to do security updates for the same amount of time microsoft has to do it with windows.. people would upgrade when the hardware dies or when something that is really special came out.
The worst possible outcome would be to upgrade from 2XL to 5 only to realize that the difference is marginal. So for now I am sticking with my Pixel 2XL.
I feel ya. Yeah, the difference is definitely not huge. It feels like a bunch of tiny improvements. I'm just glad they kept a bunch of what I liked on the 2xl.
@@thehumblecanadian431 and as for great battery life on Pixel 5. Right now I hardly leave my house as I work from home so my charger is within reach at will. Still, my 2XL on Wi-Fi last me whole day everyday. I wonder when will be my next day when my 2XL dies on me too soon when I am out.
@@boban61 Great point! Haha. I haven't left the house much in months, so I'm always near power if I needed it 😂. The Pixel 2xl will still last all day. The 5 will get around 1.5-2 days. Not a huge deal, but it's nice to think about battery even less during the day.
Not so much for the screen refresh rate. Having the wide angle lens and better contrast on the screen makes it worth it for me. I love taking me some photos!
I recently sent back my pixel 5 because I couldn't get used to the smaller screen while texting compared to my pixel 2 xl, now I'm just gonna be replacing the battery so it can run just like new
@@thehumblecanadian431 hey, ya bud I got a email or something showed up on my subscription list, anyways it was about the pixel 5 and how cheap it was only if you were in Canada because the Canadian carriers and they listed fido rogers and Telus ...my carrier all the deals were a little different but all added up to basically the same discount. So paying about 500$ cad on a 2 year plan is really good..eh! Thanks for the 2xl review again!
@@thehumblecanadian431 I just replaced the batt the charging port and the power button / vol buttons and the screen for under 200$ and it's like a brand new phone ! I can send you pictures of you want :)
Hey bud, thanks for dropping by! They both offer a lot of the same things but each takes away some things too. So it really comes down to what you enjoy about your 2xl. The 4xl has the two speakers on the front, a better processor (if you game), and motion sense...which I would never use ha. But with the 4xl you lose out on the fingerprint reader and still have the big bezels on the screen. The 5's speakers are fine, but not as good as the 2xl, 4xl. The 5 keeps the fingerprint reader (a must for me eh), gives you a smaller phone w/ practically the same screen space, but you get a weaker processor..but more ram and battery. I don't really think there's a wrong choice, just preference. Hope that helps 🙂
My pixel 2xl Still rocking I love this phone so much...
It's a wonderful phone!

As I look at the home screen icons on both phones, the text on the PIxel 2XL seems to be sharper. Must be the PPI difference.

That's strange. May have gotten a bad egg. The photos should be pretty much identical.

How is the video recording in the 2xl vs the 5? Is the 5 that much better?
It feels like the image stabilization is a lot better. But the image quality itself isn't much different. It autofocuses slightly smoother too.
