As a woman who is trans, out several years, and, here in Colorado running a support group for a few years, I understand how nervous it can be when you want to pass. But, more often than not what I found in supporting others was they would hear me, not saying "perfect" and sometimes I still get in my head that my voice is 'outing" me but when I really think about it when was the last time when you've answered the phone or an instance when some hear me, but, does not see me, I am always appropriately gendered correctly. This isn't to brag, but, you have to go out and take the risk, not go, okay I'll just stay home, and I do get danger, but, trust you've got to go out. One other bit of advice, and I get the idea, that nope I want to sound like this woman, but, there are plenty of women with deeper voices, and talkin' cis women, not woman who is transgender. Just listen to Octavia Butler, an amazing writer, but she does not have some little high voice, but a deep commanding woman's voice, not a man's deep voice but a woman’s voice

I agree. I finished my transition in 2008. But I always struggled in my voice therapy. I practiced. I just didn't practiced enough. It never dawned on the voice therapist I hired to help me, that I didn't talk a lot. I'm a quiet person rarely talk. Because of this lack of understanding I suffered. To everyone else I must sounded ok. No one ever commented on my voice negatively.
I have always been so hyper aware of every little thing.
I was like that growing up to.
Now I am aware and go out of my way to have conversations. I read out loud all the time now and it's actually helped my voice but my overall speaking. I have begun to know more what I'm going to say before I say it. It's helped sharpen my retention and I'm 66 years old. Yeah! I was 51 years old when I finally finished transitioning. I waited until I could stand alone.
I lost everyone in my immediate and extended family all but my child. He has stood by me all his life.
My parents are gone. Thankfully we made peace before they departed. But everyone else shut the door.
I don't look back though. Life is to short to let this stiff slow you down.
Go to school get a good education work save and be happy on your terms.

All very solid and sound advice!! Just don’t overthink it and worry too much over how you sound if your goals aren’t yet being met

I do have a question. I first want to apologize because it's kind of physical, but it's positive in a sense that your videos are very helpful and your explanations very clear ! I was wondering why you keep the beauty filter on ! I don't want this to make you uncomfortable in anyway, but i like to think that you could teach so much more by showing that you can be proud of your face as much as your voice as a trans woman ! (it helps for us who are still confused about our genders, us "babies trans" in a way).

I think it more just a make up filter, I use them when i wanna wear make up but dont wanna do go through all the effort of putting on make up for 1 or 2 selfies. I imagine its the same thing here.

@@veretta2396 Yep, when I'm shooting 20+ videos a week, it's easier to just use a filter than to spend the time doing my makeup every morning
