    Ive changed two of these elbows but ended up just blocking it off with a rubber cap on the intake side then running a hose over to the drive side with a plastic T fitting to the hose that goes in the drive side valve cover and my oil consumption all but stopped, my intake was full of oil even with a new PCV valve its just too much vacuum and sucks the oil from the PCV valve defeating the purpose. If the valve is always sucked on then its always open allowing oil to go up the hose but ford claims these engines "new" are supposed to use 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles which is unacceptable. This issue can be resolved by rerouting this hose to the other side and if there is crank case pressure it will build and allow the drive side hose to scavenge it up to the air intake ahead of the throttle body where there is less vacuum. Intake has been nice and dry since march.

      Hey, that's good information! The oil consumption never bothered me much, but I might try what you did and see how it works for me.

    Ford changed the fittings they used for the PCV on the 04' F-series 2V V10. Then stopped putting the 2V V10 in the F-series at the end of 04' MY.

      Make sure to check your battery cables too.......mine were just slightly loose, and that was causing my problem. The PCV fix didn't hurt though.

    I am not an engineer (but I play one on TV) I have two immediate thoughts: 1. Leak 2. turbulence

    Yours must be a little newer if it doesn't have the heated PCV hoses. I've been fighting this on my 2000 excursion, no clue how that right angle boot was supposed to slip over. I ended up just pushing the hose from the PCV straight over the nipple on the intake and didn't make the big reducer you did. Granted I'll be curious to rework mine and see if that helps my oil consumption

      @@reifonseca5767 there's a coolant line that wraps around the PCV valve for some reason. I'm starting to wonder if only excursions got them though

    @Mighty-Quinn So is this still working for you? Thinking about stealing this idea.

    • @Mighty-Quinn
      @Mighty-Quinn  Місяць тому +1

      This did help a little, but I found out later my battery connections were loose. That was the primary cause of my problem. Otherwise, my "fix" is holding up just fine, so go ahead and "steal it". I can't imagine I'm the first or last guy to make custom hose adapters lol.

    Soooo did you notice any improvement?

    • @Mighty-Quinn
      @Mighty-Quinn  Рік тому +1

      Yes, there was an improvement. The primary cause of my problem here (which I figured out later) was that my ground cable wasn't connecting all the way, which was giving me all sorts of other issues. But the PCV was definitely not working 100% right, so this fix did help.
