Now that you've reacted to this, it's time to see if 32 years later, they can still nail it. Check out "Kashmir" Live at Celebration Day. John Bonhan's, Jason, is on drums 🥁 of course JPJ on keyboard & playing bass with his feet, Robert's vocals, & Jimmy killing it. 20 million people requested tickets to the concert - which made the Guinness Book of World Records.
"I wonder how does it feel to be that great." Best reaction comment EVER. I laughed at loud with joy. 💖 It was thrilling to watch you two experience this for the first time! I recommend listening to the studio version on your own as well. It's even more enthralling.
Absolutely enjoy watching your reaction to this song. I'm 61 and remember this album coming out and how incredible it was. Kashmir has always been my favorite song by Led Zepplin and it was truly a joy to watch your pleasure with this song. Peace and Love to you both.
This is your best reaction video yet! Your excitement for this live performance is so thrilling. You guys are some of the best reactors! I don't comment very often, but I do watch/listen to all of your reviews. Thank you. I had to comeback and say that this original video brings me back to when I saw and listened to then in my town live. Robert Plant on this song throws out immense waves of energy with his vocals! You are correct in that all four of these musicians are 'next level'. Back again to say ... This Is The Best Reaction Video on YT. "Other reactors, watch and listen to this!"
I enjoy your reactions! And there's no need to apologize for rewinding the video in your appreciation for one of the greatest drummers of all time: John Bonham
Mama always said..Led Zeppelin is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. Jimmy Page has said that the music of Led Zeppelin was designed to always feature each band member. They ALL stand out. You are correct, they cannot be compared to any other band. Together, they are and always will be a tour de force.
I was at both Knebworth 79 shows along with about 200,000 other people, best band ever in the studio or live even better than Pink Floyd who I seen twice also. If you liked John Bonham's drums you should react to "Achilles last stand" from Knebworth 79. It would be good to see you react to "Kashmir" from the O2 2007 to see the contrast, John Bonham's son Jason is on drums who also performed with Heart doing Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy awards. I love watching your reactions so much 😁🤗
This song is cinematically orchestral in its panoramic vision and has stood the test of time for a reason. Their music is almost guaranteed to conjure a plethora of emotions and the same song can inspire different feelings depending on your mood/day or whether you're listening to a live performance or studio. They were truly a force of nature.
I absolutely love seeing/hearing them live but the studio version of this song is much better, that Moroccan sound is evident. Best band ever, EVER! :)
Kashmir is my favorite Led Zeppelin song. I was 10 when I first heard Led Zeppelin in 1973. I still love listening to them to this day. Robert Plant was the best vocalist of any band. John Paul Jones is probably the most versatile musician in the business. Miss Bonzo on the drums, and Jimmy Page is the master of the guitar.
In 1979 I was 15 and led Zep were my top band - and my parents would not let me go to Knebworth as it was overnight but two of my school friends got to go - it took me until 2007 when I was lucky enough to get a ticket for the 02 gig to see them live 🎉
Snap, my mates were 17 and my old boy wouldn't let me go with them to Knebworth, I never forgave him. Specially after what happened to Bonzo a year later.
I was 16 back in '79 and went to the 2nd night on 11/07 with a couple of mates - and I was actually lucky enough to get a ticket for the 2007 show at the 02! 20 million names in the hat for that one, I believe!
Excellent reaction! So satisfying to watch reactors who can appreciate how fabulous Led Zeppelin really were! They were definitely "ahead of their time". Massively creative and versatile, gifted. Would love it if you two did a deep dive starting with album 1! So many incredible songs! If you decide to do so, I'm all in! :)
Another great reaction to what is, in my opinion, one of the greatest songs ever & the greatest performance of it. The music alone can almost send me into a trance. & then the lyrics on top just send me on that beautiful journey. I do Love Stairway. it is another beautiful piece of art. But Kashmir does top it for me. I hope everyone had an amazing weekend, & next week just gets better. Much love to all from here in the UK
I had the great pleasure in being st this concert in 1979.....it was reported Zeplin could be heard up to ten miles away. this was truly a one performance that will live with me forever .... also the "bun fight"
There's an expression, ".....travels to the beat of a different drum". John Bonham, in my opinion, is that different drum. His fills are incredible but what is really amazing is his creativity and solidity. In some songs, he is playing in a different time signature than the rest of the band which is very hard to do (for him and the other members). But it gives the offbeat sound that Zeppelin is famous for. He always holds the beat so solidly even if it is counter to the rhythm of the rest of the band. He was a genius and is still my favorite drummer of all time.

To Mr. & Mrs. M-O-A & your sweet Beagle doggie- I've enjoyed your reactions to some of the various music that is the soundtrack of my life. Back then, we too were amazed the same as you all are but we were flooded with so much great new music almost daily back then that we existed on a high level expection that NEVER let us down. It was a magical time & a truely magical period in music. The music of the 60's 70's & some 80's will 4EVER be "new" "fresh" & EVERLASTINGLY Great.
Kashmir is certainly a masterpiece. Beautiful middle eastern scales and so many layers played magnificently by the masters. The greatest rock drummer John Bonham in full greatness . Plant giving all the emotion he is famous for. JPJ on keys and bass always brilliant and Page killing it on guitar as always. The genius behind most of their compositions and band leader. Their music will live forever. Glad you guys are on the journey now.
I LOVED THIS RECTION..... I have seen your reaction to the more recent version with the older Led Zeppelin and Jason Bonham, so I just had to check this out... The two of you always make me smile when I watch your reactions... Thank you.. x
Great reaction, guys! Bonham (RIP) was a beast on the drums. A really great performance from the entire band. For me, Pink Floyd is my favorite band, but Zeppelin was the best.
You both were absolutely "spot on" with your critique of this track. I maxed up the volume on my sound bar and head banged all the way through. Most definitely should check out their last performance of this song at the '02 arena. There is no uncertainty about the Moroccan influence in that track. Love, love, love you guys. 👍👍🤗🤗
Led Zeppelin is like an all-star team of the greatest musicians of all time. Jimmy Page and John Bonham hold that status. And Robert Plant.. well... he is in his own category of greatness!
Everything Led Zeppelin does is amazing, greatest individuals & even greater as a group. No other band even comes close to their greatness. Plant wrote this driving through the desert, & enjoying Morocco.
A nice musical journey of discovery from you two nice people. The orchestral effect comes from the melodron, which bassist John Paul Jones plays with oriental note sequences. Jon Bonham, known as Bonzo, was the greatest rock drummer there ever was. Today's drum teachers are thrilled when they hear him. Unfortunately he died a year after this concert. I recommend you "Achilles last Stand" from this Knebworth Festival in 1979. If you listen to more Led Zeppelin songs, you will notice that no two songs are the same. The band mastered everything, blues, folk, hard rock and even reggea on "D'yer Mak'er."
I see someone has mentioned the 2007 celebration day concert. You really must hear Kashmir when they are older. The sound is mind blowing, and John Bonhams son Jason plays drums. Not forgetting Robert Plant. HE'S STILL GOT IT.
Awesome reaction guys, I love watching peoples first reaction to Kashmir spot on! Probably the best song ever written in the history of the human race 👍
I know a few people will claim 'I was there' but I was! What a day.... I also saw Genesys and Pink Floyd at Knebworth. What a period to be young! We were truly blessed....
LOVED YOUR REACTION TO THIS ONE!!! SUCH an EPIC TUNE!!! So GLAD to see you-guys reacting to and enjoying Led Zeppelin! You should've seen OUR faces when all these songs first came out!! UNBELIEVABLE GREATNESS!! ❤❤❤
I wholeheartedly agree with Mr. Plant. I've been listening to Zeppelin since the late sixties and when i bought "Physical Graffiti" in 1975 and heard this song it instantly became my favorite. Hasn't changed in almost 50 years. If you've seen the movie "Godzilla" with Matthew Broderick there's a scene where this pkays in the background as they're chasing the monster through the sewers of New York.
I love you two so much! It fills me with such joy watching you discover all this great music and react with the same astonishment and passion that all of us who grew up with these bands felt the first time we heard them. Thank you for that.
I was at the second Knebworth show and it does not feel like 45 years ago that I was there, It was a fantastic show and the light show that they used was great too.
I've lost count of how many times I've gone back to that exact part just to watch and squee at those drum fills near the end. I get goosebumps every time, especially when he absolutely thrashes the cymbals at the end of the 2nd fill, so powerful.
Just a suggestion for you guys since You have gone down this rabbit whole for the BEST Rock band ever. Maybe you should listen to the first album and go thru their last to really understand why Millions of people love them! Thanks have a great day and week love and peace from Phoenix, Arizona 😎
Yes yes yes you have to watch this song when they got together for one show called celebration day when they do Kashmir it is one of the greatest performances I've ever seen in my life I am a huge led zeppelin fan I still say when the good Lord put these 4 guys together it was magic bands have been chasing them for years there not even close love your reactions.
You mentioned "spices"... I recently described the atmospheric elements of this song by saying something along the lines of being able to "smell spices on the warm, dry air". This kind of songwriting definitely elicits an aura of elsewhere to me, as I believe it does for the two of you as well. Kashmir is pure magic! Thank you both for such a wonderful reaction... I will definitely be back to your reaction channel!!!!! ❤
Two Things. 1) Check out 'No Quarter' from the '73 live concert, which is John Paul Jones personal magnum Opus. 2) For another unforgettable, timeless and inventive band from approx the same time period, look at Pink Floyd, no particular tracks really but try Shine On You Crazy Diamond or The Great Gig In The Sky. Both are awesome, and a good introduction to their extraordinary talents. And they do NOTHING to stop me loving Led Zeppelin!!
You said it perfectly how Robert is not just good at singing as much as he is just plain good at making sounds with his mouth lol he is a legendary vocalist
John Bonham was unusual for a drummer: he could actually keep time. Seriously, Bonzo was human metronome. LZ was known as hard rock band, but they could groove!
I just can’t help but smile when i see your videos of bands Ive treasured. And today, how apropos, The Merchant of Alba, it has been revealed, dreams of Deserts and Spice Rd when listening to Kashmir!
Oh & P.S. **Please** **NEVER** ever be sorry for going back to something on a **Led Zeppelin** song believe me **No One** will mind in the least!!! heh
“Timeless” is a good way to sum this up. You can see why when Bonham (pronounced bon-am, the h is silent) died Zeppelin could no longer exist. What drummer can get close to that? Check out The Rain Song by them, live at MSG 73 preferably. ✌️
Now do the same song 30 years later at their last performance live at Celebration Day Concert. IMO Epic performance and Robert Plant sounds even better.
when i was a kid...i thought there was an orchestra in the back!! it is still amazing to realize these guys made all this sound by themselves...remember, each of these guys, individually, is at the top of their respective specialities...front man - Plant top five all time; lead guitar - Page top five bass/instrumentalist - JPJ - people argue he is only top 10 (i say top 5) - and last, but not least, the greatest drummer of all time - John Henry Bonham (Bonzo) - name another band where no member is less than top 10 all time - just watch the 1973 MSG live performances...you will be bitten by that point
Definitely listen to the studio versions of their entire catalogue as Robert was notorious for not being particularly articulate during live performances. The time and place is wonderful to have re-experienced with you. With Zepelin, you need to listen to each song more than once to experience the complexity of what they did is incredible. The boys layered content and emotion that is far deeper and meaningful than most of todays lyrics and music. You said it exactly right Led Zepelin, evolved rock and roll and the musicians that followed them. I was at the time I first heard them I was a young teen and they changed my very definition of music instantly. (much to my parents distress lol)
I just subscribed over the weekend. Love you guys! Need to check out some Rage Against the Machine of you haven’t. Killing in the Name of, Down Rodeo and so many more 🎉
The type of singing or noise that Robert Plant makes in some of his songs can be referred to as Scat singing. Ella Fitzgerald made it famous and probably the 30s and 40s. Other artist that does that is George Benson he plays wonderful guitgreat Jazz music. You have to listen to George Benson's song breezen and then Is unbroadway. You still love it
Now that you've reacted to this, it's time to see if 32 years later, they can still nail it. Check out "Kashmir" Live at Celebration Day. Absolutely agree. Version of Kashmir from Celebration Day is more mature and complete imo.
💯 agree
28 years later, O2 was 10th December 2007 Knebworth was 4th & 11th August 1979
@@terryodell9803Celebration Day was actually 31 years since "Physical Graffiti" was released back in 1975.
@@vernhoke7730 I know but 28 years from Knebworth which she implied
This is MAGNIFICENT!! John Bonham drums...John Paul Jones bass and keyboards!!
Led Zeppelin does not

Amazing that there is only 4 of them!! Sounds like an orchestra. 🥰🥰
Absolutely enjoy watching your reaction to this song. I'm 61 and remember this album coming out and how incredible it was. Kashmir has always been my favorite song by Led Zepplin and it was truly a joy to watch your pleasure with this song. Peace and Love to you both.

As so many have already said, the live version at the O2 is just phenomenal. Just 4 men on stage, incredible!

The best band ever and I only been listening for 56yrs ❤😂
I have always loved this song. It. Is. Awesome. I have always thought that Kashmir was a much better song than Stairway To Heaven. Outstanding!
Agree. Can listen to this over and over again. Where's STH I can leave it for months, before listening again.

I personally think this is their greatest song!
And their performance in 2007 of this is amazing!
I agree with you, but if you get chance, listen to the Madison square garden concert 1973, its the best version of "Kashmir", mindblowing ! !.

I was there for this one along with the rolling stones in 1976. Will never forget either of them.
Another great reaction to what is, in my opinion, one of the greatest songs ever & the greatest performance of it.

They were already 11 years into it and cracks with starting to show - look at Jimmy - - -
A lot of flange effect in the drumming there adds so much texture
Stairway to heaven is a great song, but Kashmir is the Band's Magnum Opus. It's my Shangri-la beneath the summer moon.
when i was a kid...i thought there was an orchestra in the back!! it is still amazing to realize these guys made all this sound by themselves...remember, each of these guys, individually, is at the top of their respective specialities...front man - Plant top five all time; lead guitar - Page top five bass/instrumentalist - JPJ - people argue he is only top 10 (i say top 5) - and last, but not least, the greatest drummer of all time - John Henry Bonham (Bonzo) - name another band where no member is less than top 10 all time - just watch the 1973 MSG live performances...you will be bitten by that point
You still love it
There is a version out ...probably their last performance....with the drummers son playing....
