Canvas pliers make stretching a canvas a lot easier......You won’t get the correct tension just by pulling with your hands.
You’re also supposed to staple every side in the middle first, then staple along the length of each side.
You put 1 staple in one side, then staple the parallel side and repeat until all sides are stapled all the way along.....That ensures equal tension throughout the canvas.
