This video just saved me a few hundred bucks from buying large canvas.... 💖💖💖
Taquae Anderson@ great to hear that.
Thanks for watching, 😊
@@MDDIYHome Your welcome 💚
Exactly, the size of canvas would cost me something like £150. So this is great idea
Hello Guys. Thank you so much for watching my videos.
here ua-cam.com/video/KqI0fk1p90Q/v-deo.html how to paint this canvas. abstract acrylic art painting in first time check it out.
I went to a craft store and got there Muslim material. Its a bit thick like canvas $1.27 per yd.You can add modge podge, white paint or white school glue. Dollar tree my friend on those items.
I think it's actually MUSLIN, not muslim. You can easily check by telling it a religious joke and see what happens.
This is the kind of video I have been looking for for years. I finally have found it. I can't thank you enough. I had to smash that subscribe button, you are the real content creator for artists. Excellent job.
Glad it helped!.
thanks very much!
Thanks for the video, going to buy some bed sheets in the thrift store today.
Such a brilliant idea. Would loved to have seen it up on the wall with art on it.
Look like so easy to make.
Excellent idea thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing will trie this
Excellent work
Awesome 👍
Thank you very helpful.... video is nicely done .... happy to see a large canvas, other videos usually only show smaller canvas .....I plan to do something different... i want to make a panel at home ...i don't want to paint a wall, so I will cover the frame with a fabric (something beautiful, maybe upholstery fabric) or a holiday color I like & can change periodically.... maybe spray starch on back of fabric ? ..... I found that 3M Command sells hangers for canvas only.... that way i won't mess up the wall... maybe you could do a video using fabric like this.... it will add a nice decorative backdrop.... can be from fancy to flamingos....
that's a great Idea you can do. the 3m hangers enough for hang,
thank you for your comment & watching my video.
let me know how that project goes..i want to do the same thing for a wall in our house as well..
the wood cutting size is 1200mm X 1800mm , and the joining you can flow main or use L bracket would be fine. and for the Fabric i pain wall white paint, and staple, staples little louder.
Thank you. wish you complete the project nicely
What kind of paint did you use in the video.
I think your idea with the bedsheet is better than me using a Painter's Drop Cloth...
I did (for smaller canvas') use a Tea-Towel 24" x 24" (Walmart)... Its double cheese cloth... and I did what you did to the bedsheets... came out great.
The Tea-towels also make great curtains too.
Sounds great!
appreciate you watching.
Thanks for the brilliant idea 💡 😀 👏
I use a Painter's Drop Cloth (after bleaching it)...
Great video... Thank you for sharing this with us.
now thats interesting for certain projects maybe
Great job 👏
GENIUS!

Tq for sharing... I really love painting on large canvas.. My recent artwork are always murals on wall.. But not walls are occupied for paintings..all walls at my school lab already being drawn by me. And im searching a large canvas online but it too expensive..this will help me alot tq
hi there. So nice of you
hope you perfectly done the project. stay connected
what is that wood called with the holes for wood pegs? The words mortise and tenon come to mind but googling that didn't help! Did you buy the wood with the dowels precut?
Hi Justice@ you can ask at the Hardware Shop. helping you for the holes. or you also can make the hols yourself use 2mm wood hole drill bit. Thank you for watching my videos.
I so want to try this but I can not get my paint to try nice! thank you so much for this video
I hope you can do it.
You’re welcome 😊
Nice
I love this idea!! did you know that staples can do a huge engineer print for around $5.00 that can be a photo of landscape or whatever you choose? thanks for this idea! have a good day and God bless!
Thanks for your love. normal stapler also you can use. but when you staples little louder,
have a great day, dear.
I meant the supply store named Staples. You are welcome!😊
you can find in your country any hardware shop,
Thank you. wish you complete the project nicely
@@ryleighwatts7569 Hey! I just saw your comment, do you take your fabric to print and the picture? Please answer. Thanks alot!
Hey there!! I saw your comment & just had a question. What did you mean by an engineer print for $5? Does that mean they can transfer any picture on your sheet? If I’m WAY off I apologize. Lol. That’s why I’m asking. Thanks so much 😊
This is fantastic what paint did you use, is it fabric paint or just normal emulsion thanks.
hey great to have you here, normal wall paint only.
Thank you for watching
I live in an apartment and would like to put up a wallpaper mural...but I can't change the walls. I thought maybe it would be ok to make a frame like this and cover it with canvas, then attach mural to the canvas. Would this work? Also, I'd like to make the frame to cover most of the wall. I like how light-weight the frame seems to be.
Hi there. that's a good Idea. you can do that. and the weight depend on wood, what type of wood you use for the frame.
you can choose light and tiny wood. thanks dear.
Thank you!
yep.
Another video used drawing pins instead of staples. It saves you money on the stapler and ataples.
Thank you for the great video!
What? Awesome idea, but doesn't the sheet get saggy over time? Sheets are much thinner than canvas. Enjoyed the video and gonna try it. Great work!
After done painting maybe u can apply or spray varnishing spray as finishing. I do it alot after painting. B4, i paint on my daughter's laptop and spray the vanishing. It will helps ur painting be waterproof. But make sure ur painting must completely dry b4 spraying. Maybe can try on canvas like this to overcome saggy
does anyone know if you could use a pillow case or white t shirt instead if you want a smaller one great vid btw
Yeah just paint it whatever color you want. to make the cloth harder and so no paint passes through add a 2nd coat of the color you chose then its ready to do ypur painting. Its better to find a thick t shirt but pillow cases are the same as bed sheets
Very impressive~~~did you use white acrylic paint or gesso?
Hi There.
used white acrylic paint. you can do it with any wall paint to, just do it.Thanks for watching
I’m so great full for this video, as I was going to by a miter to make the frame, but not now....🌈❤️🌈
Hi..are you painting the sheet with white emulsion with the roller? Thanks
Yes, it is
You mean the synthetic emulsion or the distemper that is used on the wall?
Gul Zareen
I used stellar on perdition plasters wall.
Thanks
hello thank you for sharing what type of paint did you use?
Hi There.
used white acrylic paint. you can use any normal wall paint too, just do it. stay connected
Which paint we should use on it? I am asking abt white base. Whitewash/lime or oil enamel?

Thank you,I appreciate
Interesting what type of paint did u use on the bed sheet
Acrylic white paint!
where did you get the wood with the wooden dowl holes already in them
Hello @Falon Billups you can ask at the Hardware Shop. helping you for the holes. or you also can make the hols yourself use 2mm wood hole drill bit. Thank you for watching my videos.
I have a table runner and I want that to be framed. Using this method can you suggest how to frame it ?
yes. you can!
@@MDDIYHome should I still use bedsheet in that case ?
Can you paint the canvas with the white paint after you put the sheet on the frame, or will that mess it up?
can also. but better paint it before put on the frame.
thanks. @Summer Cloninger
It might result in wrinkles or over-stretched cloth !
Did you use anything after the wall paint
Hi. Iris Luna@ I just used high quality wall paint.
Thanks for watching my videos.😃
After the painting is done, it doesn't crack the painting easily? I mean, how resistant is this compared to a canvas fabric from the art shop? Usually I make big paintings in acrylic.
Hi. there glad to have you here.
if cotton fabric, painting with it good quality paint. it doesn't crack. it we'll be more lasting then normal canvas.
@My name is Nobody Hi there. yes good quality latex paint! or Acrylic paint. depending on you. and this two type of paint suitable for the fabric. you're wlcm
@@MDDIYHome hum.. cant see that, but maybe. have to try a sample and test it out. thanks for sharing.
Which normal wall paint did you use on canvas ? Can you be specific and precise ?
Hi There. thank you for watching
we used normal white wall paint. you can choose any brand of paint.
@@MDDIYHome Which brand did you use ? Any name ?
I using Dulux paint. got many brands of the paint. any brand you can use.
thanks
What is that technique he shows with the little holes with small wood pieces in it when he attached the frame together?
They are called wood dowels
Hello again! What wood did you use ? Oh and what staple guns please,🌈😊🌼😊
Hi there. used solid wood piece. you can find it at the Hardware Shop. ask them, helping you for the holes. or you also can make the hols by yourself. use 2mm wood hole drill bit. thanks
@@MDDIYHome thank you 🌈🦋🌈
Which paint do you use?
Is it at all possible to use a piece of cardboard and glue instead of wood and staples?
Make canvas from cardboard! check it out ua-cam.com/video/JDcOMloxcwY/v-deo.html it'll be help you out! thank you!
Does it matter what quality of fabric you use? Can sheets work as long as they are painted? Also, don’t all canvases require gesso for painting? I’m an artist & that’s what I’ve been taught. Thanks so much in advance! 😁
Hey. there glad to have you here.
1, yes it matter. better use cotton fabric.
2, the sheets can work long. if paint it good enough.
3, not at all, depend on the fabric & painting quality. in this video not using any gesso. I mean plaster. Thanks very much for the comment.
MD DIY Home Thank you SO much!!!!! I really appreciate you took the time to answer my questions.
you don have to. One does cause It can provide a slightly more absorbent surface. Dont need to if primed/premium canvas. I would definitely think so with this cause it seems the softer material would need to be much harder, more durable surface. never tried this so not sure on that.
So nice😘😘😘😘
Which size of canvas have
you done?.
Hi there, If you ask about this canvas size here you go.. 6' x 4'
thanks for watching.
Bich wali tanga ko kapde me nahi satne ke liye thoda aage ka bhag me gap karna padta hai.aur all side od wood ko sloping cutting karna padta hai kapde satne ka side me.
Konsa kapda hai bhai
Awesome! 🤗
May I ask if what is the size of the canvas?
sure! the size is 180 x 120cm
stay connected
Did. U apply one coat or two
Hi there. thanks for watching
I apply one only.
After the canvas is created, what paints can I use to paint on this?
Hi. There glad to have you here.
any paint you can use for it. Thanks
All types of Imaginary paints. Have fun. Yay!🙄
Can I use drop cloth instead of a sheet. If yes do I still need to paint it first before use. Tfs
Hi. @Jasmine C
yes. you can use that. before framing most paint then use.! Thank you.
Hi. What paint did you use?
Hi. there Thanks for watching
I used, normal wall white paint.
What if I don't have a white wall to paint on. can staple on wood frame then paint
Hi there.
it's no need white wall for paint. any way you can paint it. if you paint after framing, the fabric will become loose, so i think better paint before frame.!!
Thank you
Ok
Thank you
Can you use watercolor on this type of canvas?
hi there. yes can use
thanks.
You would need to apply a good absorbent ground or gesso. Or get watercolor ground specifically made for making watercolor surfaces. Otherwisw it wouldnt work. Depending on the look or style of painting.
What type of paint is used? Acrylic? Gloss?
Hi There.
used white acrylic paint. you can do it with any wall paint too,
just do it.Thanks for watching
What kind of paint did you use?
Hi There.
used white acrylic paint. you can do it with any wall paint too. Thanks for watching
You can use cheap white shades you know. Just saying ... sheets are expensive. Lol
hugh canvas are outrageous though, nothing compared to even a high end sheet. although how strong and well it is to paint on is another story.
Can i paint it in white after i frame it?
Hi there.
if you paint after framing, the fabric will become loose, so i think better paint before frame.!!
Thank you @Erca
@@MDDIYHome oh yeaa true, that didnt cross my mind. Thank you very much
What paint did u use to paint the sheet?

You said you did Acrylic but in some other comments you said you used wall White paint
What kind of white paint did you use?
I used wall paint, dear #Mona C
You mean the synthetic emulsion or the distemper that is used on the wall?
Is it enamel
And where to get these wood
any hardwire shop you can find the wood!
Can i ask which paint did you use?
Hi there. normal wall white paint only
@@MDDIYHome This will help me so so much. One more little question tho. Does it matter if the wall paint is oil based or not?
@@disconnect9084 not really. but, batter you use without oily or glossy.
@@MDDIYHome thank you for your time. Have a beautiful day :)
show painting on this tricky canvas
Hi there. glad to you interested.

How much were your supplies
There are so many problems with this for using this for painting, it is awesome for a projector screen however
Grozny Entertainment why?
@@kyliahkh The frame edges are not in an angle; paints will deform at edges. The canvas are streched with stretcher for a reason; I wonder if the elastic in the sheet will get sagged after paint is applied?. Also gesso should be used for many reasons.
This idea Its good for painting practice . As a customer I would prefer at least cotton canvas as price for large paintings justify the material as well
@@groznyentertainment not true... Most canvases don't have angle edges (Different brands different way of making it) still does the job.. Gesso is one Way of preparing the canvas but there are other ways.. like painting the canvas (like he did)... The clothe has nothing to do with how good the canvas will hold up... It all has to do with stretching it out good, preparing the canvas & most importantly the final goal.... Putting some kind of protected seal on the finished artwork... That is the main goal.... If you do that the artwork you're good.... Believe me ... I've made canvas out of so many things and all came out great and customers love it & they are still holding up... Good job on the person who made this!!
@@passionatebutterfly9625 do you know if you could use a pillow case instead or would that just not work bc I want a kinda small one
@@oogabooga2744 cotton pillow cases work best... As long as you stretch it out good and prepare it beforehand & don't forget to apply some kind of protective seal once you're done with your artwork. Hope that helps 😊
This is brilliant but my mom would kill me if I used one sheet sooo it’s a loose
Thank you. #rosealinnn
keep the Idea , maybe tomorrow you can do it.
Use the sheet, n act like u don’t know what sheet she’s talking about😈
Bedsheets lene ke pahele, Mom ko pucha kya?
haha go you have to have imagination only, never would have happened ... Thanks :)
it's real my friend. not only imagination.
Thanks for watching.
This is 3rd world problems...alot of good ideas come from where you have to come up with cheap or free way of doing shit.
While this low tech solution is cheap you should also know, that the archival quality of bedsheets come nowhere near that of a professional or even student grade canvas. I think this should have been made clear. If you're selling your art, the materials should be archival and last a lifetime. I'm sure most people are just doing this for themselves, but they should still know, that their work will degrade very quickly.
Hi there Thank you for watching.
the quality is good enough for wall decoration and no problem if you not boring with i. or until you not put in the water or trow way.
tried this out a few times works quite nice but dont do it because the canvas gets loose after a few months nd just gets worse till its really ugly
I don't think so.
I make the same canvas about 2 years ago. until looks like new.
It's a canvas for hang on the wall. not a carpet!
O
I tried this canvas idea and I give it a thumbs down. My advice to to NOT sample the sheet to any of your wall you value because the paint seeps through onto the wall and as it dries it sticks to the wall. Then you start to remove it it pulls the existing paint off the wall. This is good method but just don't staple and paint it on a good wall.
I'm a professional artist....I used this ideas Last 15 years ago... that's not New idea... it's old many painter's use this.😂😂😂😂
Hi there. I don't think so. coz I haven't see before!
Thanks very much for watching. cheers
I didn't know this tho...evrn if u may have. I thought they painted with plaster or something special.
You ain't even gonna clean the bedsheet? EEErrrrgghh. Savage.
Not Tryin'@ It is Cleaned one.
It was just used as a demo to show it was a bed sheet.
