- Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba says his government is aiming to have a peace summit in place by the end of February, around the anniversary of the Russian invasion. But he doesn't envision Russia taking part in the summit: Russia must face a war-crimes tribunal before his country directly talks with Moscow, Kuleba said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has publicly stated that peace talks will only occur under Russia's terms. That's a really poor negotiating position for the side that's losing, and demonstrates that Russia isn't serious about genuine peace talks. Including Russia at this point would just be a PR circus for them.

@@msdgroup9164 BRICS presents an opportunity for the Global South as well as Eurasia to finally work together, away from the interests of Europe and my American government. In my opinion seeing as Saudi Arabia, Iran and Turkiye show interests in joining, it could bring stability and peace to many regions of the world. As for international governing bodies based on international law, that's a long way down the road but I think BRICS nations will at least try reforms in the legacy organization and groups.

• U.S. took Russia’s assistance after 9/11 and during Obama’s first term and gave them this 🖕 in return.
• Withdrew from the 1972 ABM Treaty and the 1987 INF Treaty and proceeded to build a missile defense shield in Eastern Europe which would neutralize Russia’s strategic deterrent.
• Funded and supported the coup in Ukraine back in early 2014 which the current Ukrainian government is beholden to extreme right nationalists.
• A year ago Russia submitted a draft proposal regarding the creation of a new European security framework, Washington never considered it, they never had any intention of doing so and they gave Moscow their typical response 🖕.

How serious negotiation starts with out Russia is baffling
It is standard practice when dealing with a rapist nation. You can't have the serial rapist (Russia) in the room when finding a peace solution to stop the rapist from raping. It is pointless and disrespectful to the victim(Ukraine).
Peace is ensured for your wife/daughter if the victim (your wife/daughter) have good security (NATO) and pepper spray (defensive weapons).

Peace is very realistic as long as UA has the capability to kill all Russian presence in their country. When they have all been killed or forced to flee Ukraine Russia should be allowed to sue for peace. Now, if it will take 6 months or 6 years is unknown, but it depends on the aid UA gets to complete their mission.

Putin will not use nukes. First, he has no way to know how many of his nukes still work, after the war in Ukraine has shown the appalling maintenance of Russian war equipment - nukes need periodical maintenance to stay in working condition. Second, NATO would instantly intervene and destroy pretty much any Russian military capability of Russia, both conventional and nuclear, in a very short time, after the first use of a Russian nuke, and a single nuke would be insignificant from a military point of view.
