“Does it fly?” About as well as the Doctor’s companions remember it flying… which explains why it caught fire
New Doctor Who fan here, I've mostly been watching the newer series instead of the classic… How often did they catch fire?
@@CindyHelms those were mostly NuWho consoles in there - the Coral, Brass, Neon, Crystal and Disco TARDIS desktops, with only a couple Classic ones (Four's console is in the roof!)
The NuWho TARDIS is on fire a lot tbf. I can recall each of em having big explosion scenes at least once.
@CindyHelms more often than you'd think. Honestly, I don't know if it ever happened during the classic Era but since the 2000s I'd say at least once per doctor it seems to be a thing the doctor regenerates and the Tardis catches on fire
@@themaker2149I was about to say 14 didn't get a burning TARDIS moment but thankfully Donna got us covered on that
@@jameswise9171he kind of did with Wild Blue Yonder, with the explosions outside
Sad Peter Capaldi never got to meet Mel on screen 😢 I feel like they would have been a great duo!
Jodie didn’t meet Mel onscreen either. Mel was just at the support group which was interlaced with Jodie on the verge of regenerating
@@DigiRangerScottyeah but I don’t feel we missed much there; they would have had about as much chemistry as she has with 15. I just think she would have had great chemistry with 12🤔
@@orbital151like 15 said, Mel is bonkers. And I agree sooooo much, Mel and 12s chemistry would have awesome
@@DigiRangerScott At least Mel met Ian Chesterton
Then she would've met all the Scottish Doctors (even though Tennant doesn't use his Scottish accent) lol
I have a theory that the Remembered Tardis idea came about because some accountant wanted to downsize the prop warehouse and said “it’s not like you’re actively using all of that stuff.”
I love it when the TARDIS is constantly exploding. The best part is when they have to get a piece of string to fix it and hold it all in place.
Because it also references the goblin rope language the doctor now speaks.
@@christophcookit6334and when he had to pull the lever with rope in donna’s first episode
And sutekh hanging on 🤣🤣🤣
So you literally don't care how much pain it puts the TARDIS in?
@@kyrauniversal What? My comment was in regards to the set design, effects, ideas, as well as the work put into it. It looks amazing. It's nice that you feel so strongly about the wellbeing of the TARDIS, but please, separate fiction from reality. I don't like it because it hurts the TARDIS, I like it because it visually and thematically adds depth to the narrative.
Now THAT is a "rackety old TARDIS."
"Doctor... we're on fire!" - Mel
"So business as usual?" - Us
Good thing he remembered a fire extinguisher
it's not that much bigger on the inside but there is so much stuff inside - love it
The Remembered TARDIS is soooooo gorgeous
I love Mel's reaction to seeing 6's coat, that really made me smile and I love that later in the episode she cuddles 7's jumper, that is so sweet. ❤
The Remembered TARDIS in general is such a cool concept too! And I love that 13's TARDIS is like a little campfire to tell stories over!
Tales of the TARDIS uses the same set, and all the old actors have such sweet moments with the random props
@@digitool5944 Yeah I know, I love Tales of the TARDIS! What's interesting though is that the Remembered TARDIS was made specifically for this finale and the idea and set was reused for Tales of the TARDIS! It's brilliant!
I also love the bit where she was using the 7th docs jumper as a comfort blanket
@@Mrmayhembsc Yeah I did mention that, that was really sweet!
I think I yelled when they had the classic TARDIS door sound XD
Same😃
Bonnie Langford looking at the 6th Doctor era belongings was so touching. 😭❤️❤️
Which is absolutely wild because we only got two onscreen stories of them together. I don’t know how much BF they did together but it’s as strong a notion as the 8 episodes Katherine Hillard was the Pink Mighty Morphin Ranger
@@DigiRangerScott I thought the moment was touching, but yeah kinda weird in a sense. Not to mention, the first time she basically just pops up randomly during the Trial and we only see her in flashbacks. I'm guessing it's more of a "you never forget your first Doctor" kind of thing, even though yeah she was more of a 7th Doctor companion. Peri was more or less 6's on-screen companion, having only had about 2 or maybe you could describe it better as 1.5 episodes with Davison.
@@DigiRangerScottQuite a few big finish audios Colin and Bonnie have done together. 😁
Mel was heartbreaking in Empire of Death, and I imagine her actor was pretty happy to get to play one of Sutekh’s minions, probably a lot of fun! Her reaction to her doctor’s belongings, her death, it was all amazing
I would never have expected the remembered Tardis to actually show up in the actual show. It’s strangely brilliant
Great to have the Remembered TARDIS in the main show itself!
The ultimate Nostalgia TARDIS.
Can we take a moment for one glorious return.....THE TARDIS INFLIGHT SOUND IS BACK!
Oh shoot, I kind of forgot that was missing from the new Tardis
@@Rocksteady72a Been missing since series 8 apart from the odd episode, came back during flux briefly
And the door sound
It was so weird that the Doctor ran into this thing for a few moments BEFORE the dialogue where he acknowledged it existed and got it to stabilize into a real object. Felt like an editing mistake, but I guess it was so he could already know what it was during this scene?
i thought that happened bc it was stable within the time window and he could enter it there but it needed to be stabilized further to be an actual object separate from that
@@darkacadpresenceinblood it needed to stabilise enough to be usable outside the time window itself, so it needed memories to fully manifest and work.
I don't care what anyone says, I think the 6th Doctor's coat is cool
I love how they always had a different brooch pinned on, including ones sent in by fans.
I'd argue that, after Tom Baker's scarf, it's probably the second most iconic and recognizable piece of clothing in the franchise, whether you think that's for a good or bad thing. I'm saddened to know that Colin always hated the thing and wanted it to be either all black or all blue, I think the multicolored costume's pretty cool, too.
@@stevenedwards8353there was actually an all blue version of the costume used for a stage performance. I can’t remember what the name of the play was and I don’t think it had a long run.
6th coat was Awsome.

This is why you never use a T.A.R.D.I.S. made of memories, it basically a death trap.
As opposed to the one that had the literal God of Death riding on it for several thousand years?
@@Tconlon251_2And the other one 14 has that used to have Sutekh on it
...At least I think 15 didn't accidentally clone Sutekh
@@jameswise9171 , shh! Don't spoil the series 15 finale!
It was so cool seeing 60 years come together like this!
Is the whole "memory is time" a hint why Ruby let it snow? Is that so because she "remembers" the night she was left on ruby road?
something along those lines it seems, the doctor mentioned it in ep7
13th doctor swiss army sonic
Not a fan of this new era, but just seeing Mel clutch Six's things so close to her heart, damn, yeah I teared up just a little bit I admit. When you think about it, she never got to properly tell him goodbye.
I simply love the way Mel held the 6th Doctor's coat. The underrated Doctor that didn't get a fair chance, makes classic fans that stuck around felt nostalgic the way Mel looked and eventually holding a piece from the 7th.
I didn't expect the Memory TARDIS to get an origin story
I love Mel’s reaction to the coat and the cravat.
Question for everyone what do you think of the series? Truthfully
It was fine, not the best but not the worst
Best days are definitely over.
Crap
Disliked most of it... Some really great ideas, but the script fell off most of the times. But both Ncuti and Millie are awesome and so fun to watch
All over the place, it's the Doctor but not. The finale two-parter was sooo the doctor, loved walking the dog Hahahaha 😂😂😂
interesting concept good sequence.
Seeing this was somewhat undermined by seeing it in all the Tales of the TARDIS minis.
My head cannon is tales of the tardis is what happened after lol
Mel with Six's tie and coat was so sweet.
A Machine made of throwbacks and references awesome!!!!
This looks better and more homey than the current tardis
I thought it was so clever to actually make the "memory Tardis" canon in the main show. Like I was fine with it just existing as a sort of spin-off as a wrapper for showing classic episodes to celebrate the 60th, but to make it actually part of the show, well played!
It was actually created for this episode. Then they decided to do Tales of the TARDIS and reused the set. But because they filmed so far in advance, we saw that first.
Would be great to see a catalogue of what was on those over 100 shelves..
The Doctor really loves an old TARDIS!
This is my favourite scene from Empire of Death
Wait so at any given point in this episode there are three tardises on earth right? I understand that one of them is a memory so of course Sutekh isn’t on it but when 15 duplicated the Tardis in the Giggle does that mean that Sutekh was duplicated with it? And if so did he just wave at his clone or something?
The doctor used the prize he got from defeating the Toy Maker to duplicate the Tardis. It’s implied that as powerful as a Toy Maker is, he’s not on Sutekh’s level. So probably no duplicate.
Why was This Memory Tardis So Unstable? It was Falling apart.
Because it was made using nothing but everyones memories of the tardis, many companions remember seeing the tardis crash and catch fire all the time. The ship saw those memories and had the fire there cause there were so many in the ship over the years
I mean when your in a ship made of memories (already not a strong building material) and said ship crashes a lot...yea
I am very happy that none of the manufactured toxicity from X and some parts of the media actually translated to the show. Shows that the Doctor really CAN be anyone so long as effort is put in to keep the key aspects strong.
Yes all the hate towards this series was purley artificial and a facade for our love :p
Great ❤
thumbnail fooled me into thinking it was the peter cushing tardis
It never would’ve been. That’s not footage the BBC can use.
🤣🤣Good one
Oh, they should have showed the Doctor wailing into the void.
Ruby is a… tardis??? 😅 Old Ruby had a perception filter of 73 yards and so does the tardis???)
It's implied whatever Ruby inadvertently got caught up in in that episode it got snarled up in the Tardis perception filter or borrowed it in some way. Possibly the time travel in that episode was also related, but there's nothing really stating as much.
The use of rope and luck.
I honestly like this Tardis more than the other one cause this was feels a lot more homey , has that rackety feeling!
Also does tales take place immediately after this , as they just leave it
Definitely, it probably takes off later and chills in space... remembering everyone 🥲
Neat how the Remembered Tardis is now canon. So, the Tales of the Tardis mini shows are canon.
The memory of the Tardis manifestation
So are there 3 Tardis now?
Not me remembering… I don't know if it was 9 or 10… but one of them literally had to hit the console with a sledgehammer because it was busted…
Which makes me wonder how often did it do that?
I like how he nods YES it can fly, and then nods NO and pulls the lever anyway just hoping that it will.
My fav doctor was Jodie ❤ I would have loved her to of met Donna, Ruby and Mel!
I wonder if Ruby is some how related to the TARDIS?

Well, now that it's in the show, let's hope it will be fully explained to those outside the UK, and the additional segments that were shot separately with former Doctors and companions will be packaged and released in the US and elsewhere. The moment with Mel and the Sixth Doctor's coat is perfect. When the Sixth Doctor did his segment, it was with Nicola Bryant's Peri and the Seventh with Sophie Aldred's Ace. Mel's turn should come someday...
Comment here if you see any stuff you recognise in the background! I’ll start: I see the fez!!! Fezzes are cool 😎
I see K9. Or at least his head anyway.
Wait. So the Remembered TARDIS is actually in the series itself now, not just an offshoot of specials?
Well, that just got insanely meta, didn't it?
It was originally created for the show. Then they had the idea to do Tales of the TARDIS and so reused the existing set.
I love that the set from Tales from the TARDIS is now in the official show, and pieces of the consoles from every era of the show is in it along with various clothing from each Doctor.
The rememberd tartus should lead to the show having a rembered doctor manifest
I think we've already seen him!
In Rogue we see Richard E. Grant who apparently played the 9th Doctor in a webseries just before NuWho was announced
In the second to last episode of Tales of the Tardis with Ace and 7, they decide to use it to fly off and have adventures together.
We see in the show that it is fully functional as well.
What if the Remembered 7th from TotT eventually regenerates into 8 like normal but regenerates into Grant's 9 later on? Or a Remembered version of 8 does later?
I absolutely love the Remembered Tardis and hope they do more with it, whether it's just more TotT or relegated to the comics

So the woman following ruby was sutekh?
No, it was still Ruby.
Okay... this was brilliant! Tales of the TARDIS seemed to only have the memory TARDIS are a vehicle for fanservice and framing devices for telling the truncated serials. But now it's a legitmate part of the series.
Верните Питера Капальди , лучшего доктора , и Стивена Моффата
I don't get why 73 Yards was alluded to when it ended up being completely irrelevant to the finale.
Because Ruby’s residual baked-in memories of that whole lifetime are what led everyone to the thing Sutekh had been looking for.
I don't think it's getting truly resolved until the Christmas special.
Is 4th Doctor's TARDIS Console In Remembered TARDIS Can Up And Down, Like A TARDIS?
Its rake a lot mainly from Smith's tardis!
Hey look its Australia, i can see my house from here
Now they made the Tardis it's own show and it is a way for the younger gen to watch all the old Doctor Who Episodes.
When will they show "Tales of the Tardis" in the USA?
Never.

I would love to explore the Remembered TARDIS!!!
Oi! That's what I was going to say 😉
Wouldn't it be wonderful if the Remembered TARDIS had recordings of the missing episodes?
Yeah, nice idea mate
Seconding that!
I'm still so upset nobody outside the UK can watch Tales of the Tardis. pure blasphemy

Okay.. So, Ruby kept seeing this cloaked figure pointing at her from 73 yards.. she couldn't get close to the woman.. but other people could, and it scared them away from Ruby.. was the cloaked figure Sutekh? I'm trying to grasp everything from the last few episodes.. And what exactly was the cause of the snow always present when Ruby was too close to her truth?
I wish I knew too
kinda like how RTD brought back the Master with drumming in his head, and fans asked "so what's with the drumming? that wasn't in Classic Who" and RTD had no answer to that. RTD likes to introduce potentially compelling story points but can never properly explain them. The explanation for the Series 4 mystery was just 'destiny'
And I thought the black archive had a lot of Easter eggs for long time fans…

the memory tardis is the most dumbest thing along with the spoon
It's from tales of the tardis, a cute little spin off
@FailedNoName but seriously memory now control time and space? That can go anywhere? Then the doctor gets lost and Miraculously meets one of the last living person on a random planet looking for metal object to suspiciously looking hole for a broken spoon will go like they aren't carrying and metal object them self? I.e keys. And then she dies. Somehow. Lazy writing is an understatement
@_MyNameIsAJ_ dude they are not carrying any metal that doest fit? how would you know so jewelery and keys dont count? and just like the doctor he just breaks it to make it small enough.
Sure she forgot but she just been en denial for this long for the doctor aimlessly looking for random metal things.
And lime how you didn't cover my first point of the memory tardis that allowed all this nonsense to even begin.
And this part of the episode is the least of it the rest like not explaining why it snows, why does music play around ruby, why is the mums face hidden from the god of death. Why is the drama queen from the second episode scared of ruby. The god of death being beat by intelligent rope and gloves??? The doctor puts the god of death back into the vortex like he didn't do that before??.

Bad ending to a bad season. The most powerful villain ever? How will you ever defeat him? Just put a leash on him and drag him behind your Tardis. What inspired writing. A God wouldn't be able to snap a rope or overpower two people in a tug of war.
Put aside the fact that the way he saved everyone didn't make any sense, you're telling me that the Dr was able to revisit every place he had ever been in his whole life before Sutek could break free? In just a few minutes?
Plus why should we believe that the time vortex (whatever) would even kill Sutek? Dude was hitching a ride to the outside of the Tardis for thousands of years right? the time vortex is basically Sutek's home.
You can't make such a big deal out of a villain and be like "They just defeat him, I don't know. They punch him"
1. He didn't revisit everywhere, he simply dragged Sutekh through the Time Vortex and respread Sutekh's Touch of Death throughout all of time, killing Death with Death
2. Because he was defeating Sutekh the same way he attempted back in his Fourth Incarnation by sending Sutekh through the Time Vortex to age him to death, it's just this time he was successful because Sutekh couldn't latch onto the TARDIS for safety
3. If you're being dragged through the Time Vortex by a rope knowing that if that rope snaps, you're gonna be aged to your death would you snap it? No, so why would Sutekh?
I agree but he should’ve cut it before the doctor took off he just stood there
The season was a big improvement and really great! The ending wasn’t the best ever but it was extremely fun and engaging.
usually don't ever comment but I have been watching doctor who since I was 6 I'm now 18 and I hate what has happened to the show they are not focusing on the story the rich story telling that this show gave me such joy I felt like this would have been good but this is by far the worst season. I have ever watched in doctor who especially the finale which was utter garbage putting good cgi effects on a story that is absolute garbage still makes it garbage don't focus on the woke stuff people know about it people are tired of this and reviews on this are horrible to all the real doctor who fans out there this is an absolute disgrace if they delete this comment you know why because it's true and they don't want to change it. The woman doctor Jody Whitaker did an excellent job but the writer did not do her justice in her first season the kinda brought it back in the rest of her season but this new doctor was more useless than anybody this brilliant man has his mouth open scared of everything crying like 3 times and episode. We watch doctor for the amazing stories not for woke writing you want strong independent women don't make it so obvious you can do many of these things without making it extremely annoying this was 2 out of 10 worse performance of a doctor his acting was ametur his relationship with ruby was not even close I would not call them friends I know she had to leave the show but there was development that meant something between the two no real emotion she acted better than doctor who himself. Not believe me I think this doctor is not a bad actor but the writers did not make his character good not even likable it did not feel like his role was important he supposed to be.
