I did my research. Those "new" to the Jeep world only think about RK and MC, without even ever hearing of Clayton. Had their stuff on a previous Jeep and was VERY happy with it. For me, it came down to RK and Clayton, and I chose Clayton mainly for 2 reasons.
1: linear springs. Progressive springs ride a little better, but linear springs are less likely to sag over time.
2: I wanna be different. I want quality without having what EVERYONE else has. Not to say RK and MC aren't quality parts, it's just that EVERYONE has them. 🤷♂️😎

Nice video. Thanks. So those are self tapping bolts, and if you just apply a little pressure they thread right in. But tapping the hole obviously works.

How tight you tighten the jam nut on the adjustable end, the manual doesn't say much. Did you tighten it before mount or after mount?
Tight as you can get it. I used 2 big adjustable wrenches, and tightened them before install. Take a paint pen and mark the nut to the arm, that way you can tell at a glance if it has backed up any. Hope this helps!👍🏻🤘🏻
Strange the entry kit comes with front uca not lca?
I inquired about that before I bought. Clayton's response was that the uca's are the proper way to adjust caster. Although we know LCA's affect caster as well, the positioning and orientation of the brackets (upper and lower) make the uca's better for adjustment. Whether it's true or not, I don't know. I know the MC kit comes with uppers, so... I do know now, having installed the lowers and getting my wheelbase back that it does drive better. Not that it drove poorly with just uppers, but it does drive better now. I knew I would be adding the lowers later anyway, so it wasn't that big of a deal to me.😁🤷♂️
Caster angle should be set with the front uppers, its more effective since the upper mounts are taller, or a great distance from the center line of the axle tube. So when you move that point it more effectively adjusts your cast. You can get lucky with lowers, it will effect caster somewhat. But the lowers should set your axle position. Once that is set, now the uppers set the caster, so your not compromising axle location for caster angle.

do you have to align the vehile after this lower control arm swap?
That's a bit of a loaded question. The higher the lift, the more chance you have of the caster being too far out. The best rule of thumb is, ANY time you mess with front end geometry, you really should get an alignment just to be sure everything is within spec. That said, with MY lift (2.5"), after the install of the lower control arms, everything was still in spec. SO....my answer to your question is no, you don't HAVE to, but I'd highly recommend it.
You have a good woman! I have Currie Rock Jock lowers but they made the biggest improvement in steering and ride of any other component on my Jeep JL. Bumpsteer and rear hop was eliminated. The factory arms are very poorly constructed.
You're right. I love my JL, but FCA really dropped the ball on this model.
Do they all come not threaded or was that a mistake at the factory when they made them

Great video, what length for your front LCAs and UCAs are you at? Any idea how much caster you’re at?
Thanks, Jared! Yeah, when I installed lift, the UCA's were set at 19.9" and my caster was 5.9 and 5.8. I installed the lowers and they were set at 24.3. Both specs are per Clayton instructions. I imagine my caster has come down slightly with the longer LCA's, but I've not had an alignment to verify. 5.9 and 5.8 are at the upper end of factory spec for caster, so coming down slightly should bring it more in the middle range. However, a lot of people are running 6+ degrees of caster and love it. Personally, I'm very happy with my current set up. The lift install video is on my channel, feel free to give it a look. Thanks, yes I’ve been playing around with caster on 2 different JLs, with 2.5 and 3.5 lifts, they sure do love caster! I’ve been as high as 7 and as low as 5.2, I feel the mid 6 is ideal, although everyone’s Jeep is different. Hey great info, where did you get the skid plate from? Do you have a 2.0 turbo?
Thanks buddy, I sure appreciate it! I ordered the skid from Morris 4x4, but I believe it can be gotten on Amazon and eBay, as well.

how did you get that color? did you do it yourself?
Yup. They came black. I scuffed them with a green scratch pad and then used rattle can orange paint and clear coat. It has held up great against the rocks while off road. Some good scratches, but because I didn't remove the original powder coat completely, there is no bare metal that would cause rust. Thanks for watching and the comment! 🤘🏻
What size lift and length of the arm?

How'd you get those LCA's torqued to 190?
I'm sure you recognize that doing this in the driveway, there's no room for leverage. I believe if you have a piece of pipe to slide over your torque wrench, you MIGHT be able to get the necessary leverage to meet that torque spec. As it is, I just used my impact and counted out 5 "ugga duggas". It's been over 2 yrs now, and I have had no issues. Thanks for watching and the question! 🤘🏻

Another thing I forgot to mention, Adam said that they used square tubing for the added strength because the lowers are more susceptible to being hit with rocks, etc. Bro, I'm loving these!😍😍
