This is the video I needed, thanks for posting this, I’ve been curious about swapping the EDU for a long time, now I know you can -- UPDATE I just swapped the EDU and sure enough transit fired straight up, you my man are a hero
Ty....got the same issue for a customer, wasnt sure if the solenoid had to be swapped too, didnt want to cut those wires before i made sure. Top video pal...
thanks will try this my husband having immobilizer problem red light flashing on stat & doors lock while trying to start hopefully your video helps did you have red flashing light before you swapped units over
Did the same replacement engine on mk6 duratorq 2.0diesel with vp30 , Red light flicker fast above the clock, starter cranks, it turns 5sec , diesel came out with good pressure at injectors but engine go off Thanks for this
I sent the vp30 module away paid about £45 to get it fixed, they replaced both mossfets good as new maybe more now obviously but if you get 1664 code that's the problem and cheaper to correct than buying another pump which you may have to have programmed in
Crap pumps, many years ago you could just go to Ford's repair workshop and see all the mk4 transits with fuel pump problems. They used to come in like water!!
@@Chris_CDB yea I tried bleeding manual then tried bump starting with no luck it starts but won't run it's as if the fuel pressure isn't high enough had p1666 code desynchronization with crank
@@charlieharper1206 sounds to me like the chain has moved/stretched… have you removed the pump at all without holding the chain with the proper tools ?

No you don’t have to.
Changed alot of these modules over the years it's very rare the actual pump goes rong as it's mainly mechanical
I've got a pump with ( I think) a buggered edu. I've got a good edu from another pump. Did you have to get yours coded? Or is it a straight swap.
@rocknral you will need it coded, as the video suggests, however you will probably struggle to find people who can do it.
Top man, exactly the advice I was looking for 🙏
Forscan can sync the pats system.
Can you not just swap the ecm if you can get hold of it?
I do not seem to be able to find anywhere how you remove the main connector from the pump. The manual just says "push forward" which isn't helpful.

Cheers for the video
No problem at all!
I wanna buy a Mk6 2.4di transit for work runs good but all I see is pump failures lol should I not buy it?
They are not all that reliable to be honest!

I just done this exact same thing yesterday and my van would just turn over and doesn't start
Have you scanned for codes ,? Bled the fuel system?
