Hey Ash,just watched your vid on the super light hammock from DD,did the tree huggers and whoopie slings come with it,as they don't with the original frontline hammock, keep the vids coming mate they're quality.
Interesting Ash. I've had a standard Frontline since last Autumn, and love it, but I wanted another for my son and for lighter trips as I was surprised at the big pack size of the standard. I went for the normal Superlight hammock with the seperate bugnet, and the same coyote brown light tarp as you use here. Packs up tiny, but the bugnet is an inch from your face on a ridgeline so it's not as palatial as a frontline. What you have here seems an ideal compromise - although if it is the same material as the normal Frontline, only single layer, the price hike is puzzling... anyway, good watch as usual. Cheers. Rich. (EDIT : just thought, your one comes with the Whoopie slings and carabiners as standard, wheras the heavier Frontline doesn't. I bought them extra for mine, and I'm sure it was a bout 40 quid in the end, so maybe that alone justifies the price difference..?)
Ah you’re probably right there mate, didn’t even think of that! Yes, my other frontline came with the webbing! 😂 I’ll have to do another video! 😂😂 It’s a great hammock, I think if you didn’t have the poles in the the bag and put it in a compression or roll top bag it would pack down really small!! Yes, I have the standard superlight for winter when I don’t need the bug net, it’s literally the size of my fist packed up! Thanks again for watching rich, much appreciated mate 👍🏼 Ash 🏕
Great review. Clear and concise. I prefer not to have a bug net but use a head net if it gets too annoying. Looking forward to your camping videos. Always enjoyable. Thank you.
Thanks Darren, that’s cool, I use my normal hammock in winter but like a bit more protection in the summer months! Thanks for watching mate, another camping one to come soon hopefully All the best Ash
Tie the net to the ridge line with a prussic loop, keeps it high and taught, im using the a frontilne from 2 years ago and this is what i do, also set your ridgeline and tarp higher so you can stand up under it, your back will thank you.
Hello buddy nice bit of kit I have the ultra lite hammock but if feels like I'm trapped when in there I just bought the frontline. Thanks for sharing a.t.b Andrew
Hi mate, I use that one for my winter camps, packs away to nothing doesn’t it! Hope you get on better with the new frontline mate, I love mine! Have a good day buddy Ash🏕
I like the sound of super-light and at a 200 gram reduction in weight , looks like it will be worth the additional price, if you have it but for most people a tad on the expensive side for me. Great review and very good demo as well, cheers Alan
Hi Alan mate, thanks for watching buddy. I’m sure it’s the suspension kit that is the main reason for price jump! I love it though, looking forward to getting out in it again soon! Have a good week mate, Ash
They’re such a popular brand, I borrowed a frontline once and wasn’t a big fan. Maybe it was the way I hung it but I ended up sleeping on the floor under it. Does seem expensive, but everything in the super lightweight category does. It’s like slapping the word organic in front of a potato. You can double the price. I have a different brand of hammock and sleep fine in that. Horses for courses I suppose. Take it easy bud 👍
😂 I love your way with words dan! 😆 yes, it’s expensive but o do like the lightweight gear so don’t mind paying that little extra. I think you do have to play about a bit to get the lay right, but I do love this organic potato Thanks for watching mate Take care Ash
@@AshOutdoorsUK Not sure it would do much good laying on the floor hehe! I had a look at those hammocks that can be used on the groun too but all looked a bit cramped.
Look at you with your ads! *insert jealous face here* nice little vid mate, I can't see the benefit in the extra cost to be honest, but I'm sure there's those that will
Lol, hello mate, how’s things? I believe it’s the suspension system that bumps the price up so much, makes sends really. I’m going to do another video comparing 3 dd hammocks in the future as there’s been a lot of questions regarding this one 👍🏼 Thanks for watching buddy Ash
Great video ash I have the regular front line and love it 👍 It was a game changer getting the underblanket it makes it so comfortable 👍 I Look forward to some camping videos 🙂
Thanks mate, yes, underblanket any other time than summer is a must! This is now my go to hammock!! Thanks for watching mate! Have a great evening Ash 🏕
That’s what I was thinking, but like you I have that suspension kit for my other frontline and think they were around £40 so not too much difference in all? Thanks for watching again mate 😊
Cheers for the review Ash. I’d say it’s not worth the extra cash in my opinion. You could buy a tarp with the extra money saved if you go for the normal frontline. But good to see it anyway 👍
Thanks mate, someone pointed out that it’s probably the suspension kit that bumps the price up! I have it now so I’m happy, it seems like my wife and kids like the standard frontline on the garden! 😂 Take care buddy Ash
Hey mate, your not late buddy, just put it out last night! 😊 thanks Scott I’m not chilled out when my kids are playing up! 🤬😂 love them to bits tho! Thanks as always buddy! 🙏🏼🏕
Same here mate, that’s my winter go to! Thanks for watching buddy, really appreciate it! That slingshot should be with you today 👍🏼👍🏼 Have a good day pal Ash
Thanks trev, it is decent but weather it’s worth the extra I’m not sure, I love it and don’t mind spending the extra as I love the lightweight stuff! Thanks for watching mate, means a lot Ash 😊
Looks a great bit of kit mate, would probably be too small for me though that one, I've tried hammock's before and they've felt too tight , I need the XL version, if I try with a hammock again it will be the frontline XL , DD do really good gear, good vid mate, all the best 👍
Hi Gaz, thanks buddy. Yeah I think they say 6’5” is the limit, and I imaging that being tight! Thanks again for watching mate. Much appreciated All the best Ash 🏕
@@AshOutdoorsUK yeah I bought the frontline hammock, tested it out and sold it for the price I paid for it on eBay , was a tad small for me, probably get the XL at some point in the future 👍
Nice review Ash. I do feel that the spreaders on my normal frontline are too narrow for me, and the pack size is a little on bulky side. My mates just got the ultra light tarp and that seems a game changer also. I feel an upgrade coming on for my Forrest set up 😂
Mate, this is fantastic for summer, If you took the poles out it would stuff down a lot more! The poles in this do make a big difference compared to the frontline, I love it! Thank you for watching mate Ash 🏕
Nice set up mate. Always wonder if less weight is better on the pocket as if you can get something similar for cheaper you should get it. But it's a nice tarp. I have the superlight tarp and that's light as a feather. Great video bud ATB Adam 👍👍
Good review Ash, tho not being a hammock person yet, I thought that the main advantage of your old one was a ‘double layer’ surely your mat will be sliding around everywhere in this one? So, worth the extra money? Methinks not. Anyway take care and stay safe 😃👍
Hi mate, to be honest the mat didn’t slip at all, and I usually attack the underblanket when it’s cold, I only use the mat in the summer months. Also I believe it’s the suspension system that is the extra money! I love this hammock 😊 Thanks so much for watching again, stay safe and all the best Ash 🏕
I've got the DD frontline XL and it weighs a ton! Thought it would be good idea so dog could jump in with me. I'm now looking at one of these instead. Pooch be sleeping on the floor 😂
Great review bud 👍 I love mixing it up and breaking the hammocks out but the spot we use is less than a miles hike, so I'll keep that £40 saving and put it towards beer 🤪 All the best. Adam
Hi mark, it’s a great hammock mate, it is a little on the expensive side at £99 they do a standard one that is £52! Thanks again for watching mate, and always taking the time to comment Ash 🏕
You forgot to mention that the superlight comes with the Whoopie suspension system, the regular frontline doesn't. The system costs 31,50 pounds, effectively making it a 12,50 pounds difference for the superlight version?
Thanks mate, I think I said that way round? My head goes lower, so yes feet higher (at least I hope I did) 😂 if you’re head is higher you keep slipping down towards your feet! Thanks for watching mate, much appreciated Ash
Thanks Andrew, really appreciate you checking out my channel! I love my hammocks, I’ve had the best nights sleep ever camping in a hammock, does take a bit of tweaking and practice to get the lay right but once you’ve got it they’re brilliant Thanks again for watching mate, all the best Ash 🏕
Lol, I’ve since realised the extra is due to the whoopie sling suspension kit, which I know a lot of people put on the standard frontline anyway! 👍🏼 not entirely sure why it only 100kg limit to be honest?? Thanks again for watching mate, hope all is well with u 👍🏼
How much?? 😂😂 Think of all that beer you could have bought? Good little honest review mate. You still have plaster dust in ya hair. Laterz organic potatoz 😜

thinking about one for next year .. but will go with the frontline ... cheers chris & sam
Great choice, brilliant hammocks! 👍🏼👍🏼
Good review - it comes with the full suspension kit, so I'd say its worth the extra. Also, can be bought for less than rrp at a few places.
Thanks for watching Stewart! Yes, you’re right, price difference is due to the whoopie sling system… great little hammock this
All the best mate

I've always thought that the original frontline spreaders are a little bit short and makes it feel a bit confined in the hammock. Honest review dude.
Thanks mate, this does feel a lot more spacious, and I love the lightness of it! 😊 thanks lee
