I have exactly the same setup on both hammocks. The carabiner whoopie sling system saves time and getting your ass wet, as the carabiners act as a water drip point in heavy down pour where rain finds its way down tree, down the webbing, and finally down the arse crack. What a difference underblanket makes to the system used it down to -7 it's make for a tranquil experience in cold snap before Christmas.

Lovely to see you both again. Thank you for explaining the hammock systems and how to set up. It's something new to me so I enjoyed learning more. Great channel 👍 I have to mention Poppy 😊 as always she is beautiful. Loved that she seemed to be gathering wood in the background of one shot. She's a good camping mate. Here is to more adventurous for you both ☺️

I have a different brand hammock but the DD tarps are great !!! last year I lent my 4x4 to a friend who brought the wrong size tarp, I ended up using a spare another person had. that DD tarp stood up to the gale force winds we had during that trip !!!! this time I used the DD 3.5x3.5, it works perfectly with my hammock

I have an Easthills jungle hammock which I really love but it's classed as a double hammock so although not super heavy, I am in the market for a super light one and I've been looking at the DD one and I think you've convinced me. One of these with the DD 3x3 Tarp and I think is the perfect setup, along with an under quilt as I'm like you, I can't sleep on a mat in a hammock. Thanks for the video, happy camping!

Cheers for this video. Looking for a hammock myself. Been looking at Hennesy, DD and Amazonas primarily. Even Covacure came up in reviews as good budget option.
Think I will pass on Hennessy....bit too expensive and the retailer I spoke to in the Netherlands said you cannot get a diagonal lay in the DD (though every reviewer here on UA-cam does lol... confused).
Hope I can make a good decision as I am stoked to get into hammock camping!

I set up my dd FRONTLINE in the woods today. Im only staying overnight so i only brought the bare essentials. Tarp, axe, knife, water, food etc. It started pouring down at 2pm and didn't stop until gone 4pm. Black sky and the odd thunder clap. The rain was torrential. My fire didnt last too long and i had no choice but to spend the afternoon in my hammock. After about an hour i noticed the hood on my sleeping bag felt damp? But i couldn't see any leaks so i thought i must be imagining it. But oncethe rain stopped i noticed that both ends of my hammock were saturated. The rain had run down the suspension cords and soaked into my hammock. The wet patches on both ends travelled about 18" into the hammock. Luckily the material seems to dry very fast. That was after approx 2 hrs of heavy rain. So i dread to tnink what would happen if it rained all night?

I have a custom made Tier Gear Goshawk from Tasmania. Simon made it to carry my 145kg (160kg at the time). I was looking at the DD Traveller/Bivi as a cheaper alternative for my stealth camping trips in case I have to pack in a hurry or even leave it behind. But... it says it is only for people up to6'5" and 125kg. I'm 6'1" but as said 20 kgs heavier. Would it hold me? I've never seen DD gear but assume it to be quality. What's your opinion as someone with years of DD hammock experience?
