- This is the series where I reveal what is inside these pottery moulds I found on Gumtree.

Here are my research websites for this weeks little history adventure:www.marklittler.com/cow-creamer/

Images in this video were all sourced from a google search under ‘Cow Milk Creamer’
The story goes, I found a listing on gumtree for pottery stuff. When I arrived the seller said 'I have all these pottery moulds would you like them as well?' and I said 'why not'. On the way home, I had the brain child to do a social media video series revealing what each mould is.
The mystery is in the fact that I had no idea what I had said yes to, some of the moulds are labelled and easy to tell but some of them are a little more difficult. The beauty is that all of the plaster moulds surprise you no matter the presentation of labels, titles or identifiable surface inside.
So come join me as I dive into this series and share the mould fun. I would love to hear any information you may have on the moulds and to let me know any stories you have that the moulds remind you of in the comments.
Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe!
Heaps of love,

Omg! My dad’s auntie had one of these and would bring it out every time we came over when I was a kid! Love these 🥰🥰
I love the milk cows
Sweet!
I have never seen these before but i ADORE them! 😍 especially the folk art inspired ones
I think they look so good both with the traditional art from their place of origin, and the more realistic looking ones! I would he interested to see one antiqued with the black that you wipe off, and with a glaze that has the cool effects, but only put where the fur is, and in browns so it looks realistic ish, but also has a funky look to it.♡
edit: it would be fun if after this series, you revisit some of your favourites and paint them in ways inspired by some of your favourite comments!
I too think that would be cool.
The Dutch/Australian design is beautiful, the natural ones need gold hooves & horns to jazz them a bit. All in all this mold bears revisiting with solids or perhaps a Delft look. Keep bringing us your enthusiasm it is infectious and makes my Friday sparkle.
I just loved the history of this piece, and they are so beautiful!! I loved the "moooootifs" you used on these especially!
This design you're painting on camera is so pretty 😭😭😭😭 It's totally an aesthetic I would wear as a dress, use on my plates, on walls, on bags, everything!
Love these! The folk art ones are my favorites! My grandmother taught me to smear a little butter to stop drips on the underside of where you’re pouring from with tricks pitchers. I also think changing the angle you poke the hole at could help (maybe angled down a bit instead of straight through, or maybe try a triangle shaped tool to punch the hole with the V part pointing down?) Just some ideas!
I have never wanted a cow shaped milk jug, but those Dutch inspired ones!!! They are a DREAM! So beautiful decor and suits them really well!!!
I have 2 cow jugs like this (big and small/seated), we use it when we get our nice teapots and cups out. However it has become family tradition to call it the puking cow
My grandma had this jug. I absolutely loved it. She made it. It was my favorite childhood memory.
Just want to say how much your love and enjoyment of these cow creamers has made my day. My grandma passed away last year and she adored these things. She had an absolutely massive collection of different ones she had picked up and collected over the years so cow creamers always remind me of her. Beautiful work this week.
This was a fantastic video. Thank you so much. My favorite is the one with the big blue flower. I don't know if cow kitchens were every a thing there but they were very big in the States in the 80's. If you've never seen one Google it because your cows would be right at home.
Mom had one of these when I was little. It always made me smile. 😊 I can also see it making a cute little planter pot.
I love these so much!!! Paint the horns Gold!!!!
Just adorable!!! I loved both designs!!!
Don’t worry about the cracks, it happens to everyone at least once!
Thank you for taking care and putting in the flash warning, it’s care that I haven’t seen many UA-cam creators take.
I'm from the Netherlands and they remind me of the lifesize cow sculptures you see all over the Dutch countryside. They are often painted in bright color and designs.
The first one is absolutely beautiful. Colors and pattern . Love the bird too. Good job !
I LOVED the history run down on cow milk pitchers!! Thank you for doing all that research, it was really fascinating to listen to while watching you paint. :)
I had wanted one of these for YEARS & was low-key jealous of someone I know who has one. After seeing them "in action" tho? I'm over it lol
One less thing I want. Best. Gift. Ever! :)
Years ago I painted a large version of the frog lying on it’s side. I added false eyelashes and painted a flower in its hand that is behind it. I loved that 🐸
I love this jug, it reminds me of a holiday in Holland where we visited a cheese factory. The guy who was talking to us had a jug like this - happy memory, thank you.
What a neat history lesson! We had one growing up in the black and white colors. My mom washed it in the dishwasher and washed the black paint off! She still has after all these years.
Thank you for the Flash warning. This was very gentle, but sometimes it CAN be problematic. I appreciate your thoughtfulness!
Love them all but the black and white one got the most reaction from me. So adorable!
I love the lil orange froggo just posing at the front of the kiln, cracked me up
Discovered your channel yesterday and now I'm hooked. Started with the little geese looking down over books (mould 83; adorable!!!) and binging now. I'm not a 'trinket' person but the chicken-duck-bunny serving dishes (mould 77) sold me big time.
Ok, I said the other week that the flying pigs was my favourite one yet, but this cow milk jug almost overtook the pig and is a very close second favourite. So cute!!!
I love your designs, you have a very unique taste and I love it! I don't think if I purchased one I wouldn't use it for creamer. I have a country kitchen that has roosters, cows and chickens! This would be a perfect addition to my moo cow collections . No now know how much it takes to make only one of them! You are talented and an amazing potter thank you for sharing your beautiful art work with us all!
I look forward to these videos. The really neat things people have sculpted and you've created from their moulds has been really fun to see. Thank you for all the work you do. It really brightens my days to see these.
I am always so happy when I see another video on Fridays. You are my ray of sunshine from Australia, all the way to Canada!
You’re so considerate you even Flash warning for the shadows most people don’t even think about those things 💕
So cute!! The cow with the flowers that the hole didn't close up could be a watering container for small succulents.
Thank moo so much for posting this - the cow and your giggles create such positive energy - what a great day to have started my day :)
I LOVE that first folk art design! ❤
So sweet. My grandmother had a bizarre moose head pourer that we’d use as a gravy boat for Thanksgiving. 🤣
They are adorable, i think using them as planters would be so cool
I had a friend who owned that very jug, but it was done in porcelain and glazed white. It was simple, yet whimsical and at the same time, elegant.
My Mom collected cow-themed stuff for her kitchen and she would have loved these!!
I love these and the little historical lesson was top notch. I have one of these (store bought) - mine is solid teal, and i love it so much. With all of that texture they might also look pretty neat with one of the fancy glazes. All of the bumps and wiggles could look absolutely stunning when it catches all of the shifting and oxidizing colours of those unique glazes (and maybe picking out the details in the face, hooves, tails in gold!). Thanks, as always for sharing such a sweet project.
I love the cow milk jug molds. They're so cute, and I love the designs that you put on them. I enjoyed the art history lesson. It was very interesting and I formative. You definitely know your craft very well.
Omg! we had one of these from my great aunt and it was my favorite thing as a kid! I broke it accidentally a couple years ago and I'm so glad you found a mould for one!
These are gorgeous, I love the ‘Dutch’ artwork you’ve really captured the feel of the Netherlands. What a great piece to have in your collection.
I love these novelty cow things, we have a whole tea set in my house on display. I love how yours turned out the floral patterns are so pretty!
I love this one, too! So cute Shelby….I’m loving the mystery of the molds!
The dutch folk art inspired ones were so gorgeous! I love this folk art style and it made them into something much more interesting.
I used to collect these in porcelain!! So cute!! I also had a cow in the dreft blue. Oh the mushroom jar is adorable!!! Sweet cow creamers!!
❤❤❤ Reminds me of the life-size cow sculptures at Texas Children's Hospital, which were painted in many different artsy ways. Love them! I don't know if they are still there, I saw them years ago when I had to take my daugter to her dr. appointments.
i love that you did the folk art inspired cows!! dutch traditional art is really underappreciated.. so glad i clicked on this, made my morning :)
Very cute Shelby. My Nan used to use things like this when we had Sunday tea ❤️🇬🇧
I really love the flower ones! A wedgewood blue with white spots would be cool too. I bought one for my mum in New York when i was 16 and I have a white one now.
I love the historical information so much. When I retired from my government job, I was a DAIRY INSPECTOR!! Ha ha!! They are so very beautiful!
Sooooo cute! I would love to see more Delft "mootives" or even your signature Aussie flora!!! But love it!!
Oh...I do love the cows! The folk art ones are my favorite. Enjoyed the history about the creamers. And as always, I love your videos! 😊
We have just a plain white cow milk jug but love it and a butter dish that goes with it. I loved the traditional black spotted cow.
Using the cracked one as a vase is brilliant. it could also be a fun succulent planter!
I am really loving the folk art inspired cows. The are really cute!!
Love the ones with Dutch inspired art! They are so beutiful!
These are one of my favorites so far!!! Absolutely love them!!!
The blue hooves are adorable. Good job
Flower motifs are gorgeous 😍
Oh these are super charming! Your flower patterns are really beautiful and inspiring.
Oh my goodness I love them! "Would you like some milk? Blarggggg" lol
I need one so bad!
I love the Dutch inspired motif. So pretty!
Maybe a larger, tilted hole with a slightly pursed lip? I agree about the horn colour needing to be different, but I just I've the patterns you've done. So cute. I think I'd use them as vases anyway
These are SO CUTE!! a strawberry cow variant or golden cow version would be so cute!
My favorite is the cow with the little bird design. I think it'd be super cute to do one in that flow blue style of dutch pottery and put a little dutch milkmaid on the side with her pail ....
I just wanted to say thankyou so much to adding a flash warning!
This is a great mould! They look so brilliant as mini cactus planters or a 'watering can' for small succulents. Even a quirky vase if the hole from the spout doesn't work! You could even make a pottery Cow Parade (check wikipedia) and get businesses to support a design for a charitable cause.
This is my favorite mold so far. These are adorable and you did an amazing job painting them.
Adorable!!! I love cows.
I think next week's might be little jars with lids
This is one of my favorites of all your recent molds! The Dutch motifs you painted are so beautiful!
The bird and flowers one is my favorite.
Loved the dutch designs as planters / vases!!
I love these. I also think they'd look amazing just white with gold horns and hooves.
Now that I've caught up on all your videos, I wait in anticipation for new videos each week :) I love the cow!!
Soooooo cute!!! I LOVE the Dutch-inspired designs
I love the cow jugs. They are adorable! I thoroughly enjoy your videos and have learned so much from you.
Hi Shelby I love this jug! I have a tiny collection of similar ones (I love cows), but especially the colourful ones you made are just stunning! Please consider making them into a diy-set, as you have done before, I would love to paint some of these!
This is such a precious mould! I love it, and what you did with it. So interesting learning about the history of it. My favourite was the dutch inspired design with the bird. So stunning.
The Dutch inspired, Moooootifs look so cute!
I LOVE COWS! 1) A black and white cow like yours is a Holstein. 2) Did you see the Cow Parade figurines online? 3) My aunt had a cow creamer that was a purple color. I conflated the cow cream pitcher with the song Purple People Eater. To this day I worry the purple cow maybe ate people. 4) I hope you make more of those. They can be decorative v functional. The flowered ones are fab. I want one! PS) To call the cows into the barn, my aunt or uncle would holler “Come boss! Come boss!” Boss was for Bossie, I guess a common name for a cow.
So much fun! Love the floral designs.
These guys are cute! I used to get blocked holes in things (especially beads!). I know that there are tools that are sold to care for that. However, my best success to keep the holes cleared is a pipe cleaner. (I think they are called chennile stems in England, No clue for Australia.) It is a thin wand of twisted wire that has fibers in it to make a little cleaning brush. (Try to describe something like that! It is a challenge.) They were originally made to clean out the inside of pipe stems. So......I don't know why they work so well. They just do. :)
They are called pipe cleaners in England too. I have never heard of 'chenille stems', unless this a new name for a craft item.
They're called pipe cleaners in Australia too
Thank you so much for the flash warning! You are the sweetest and your videos are so delightful. Love your content and you did so amazing this week
My aunt has a cream jug that looks like an udder and when you empty it there’s a cute little cow sitting on the bottom looking at you 🤩
Yess i’m from the netherlands and it instantly reminded me of those cute dutch blue and white porcelain tablewear
Oh they’re all so pretty! I love the colourful designs and would use them even as decoration or as planters like you said. So cute!
Adorable! I love yours designs and the history of the piece! ❤️
This made me happy the moment you opened the mould! 🐮🐄😍
I love this and the little history lesson. So great! Your designs are so pretty ✨✨
Both styles are gorgeous!
Oh, oh, oh!!! Shelby, this is the cutest!
I really really like your videos. You go straight to the point. I appreciate that a lot. Your potteries a always loveable.
This Dutchie has never seen em before but they look very cool!
Very sweet! I love the floral pattern you’ve applied 😀
Gorgeous painting! Love the history:) Your content is literally my favorite!
I love it. This is such a cute cow pitcher!
So cute, One of my favourites for sure! Looking forward to next weeks, looks very interesting!
Oh my goodness this mold is so cute! Love the floral designs especially.
Holy cow Shelby, I love these! I think my oma would have loved the delf inspired ones too
