That last one reminds me of one of my favorite books as a kid. I think it was called Potter Brownware. It was about a potter who couldn't sell enough pots because they were boring. One day his kids were chasing a chicken and ended up spilling and splattering all the pots with glaze. He fired them because he didn't want to waste them. But when they came out all the pots were spotty pots! He sold them all after that and started making the spotty pots all the time! His business was saved all because of crazy kids and a chicken. lol That last pot looks so much like the pots in the story.
Wow, I was so excited to order something of yours, but everything is sold out. That’s sad for me but absolutely wonderful for you, I couldn’t be happier for you ❤️🔥
I love how differently the colours sit when they're painted inside the mould... The surface is absolutely smooth but you still have these dreamy brushstrokes and dots! ❤️
Beautiful mugs. I love the spotted one! Great techniques to use for future... like you said, you can sprinkle the pigment onto the outside of a piece for a specific texture/color in your design. I enjoy your videos more than anyone else on youtube ♥️
I really enjoyed watching you experimenting with techniques and seeing the results! It's a good way to evolve the series. I'm so terrified of the end of these molds approaching 😫
Oh gosh! Thank you so much!!! Don’t worry, the series won’t end. I feel like it won’t! If anything I think it’s going to be harder to choose which ones to do 🤫
They came out wonderfully, it really is a versatile shape and I love the effect of the darker slip in the centre of the mould. I also love your Vegemite jumper!
This was something I dreamed of doing when I was a kid. My mom even got me a kids pottery wheel where she made a turtle lol. Honestly finding your channel and seeing all your works makes my day and seeing you work is just amazing. Thank you for making this channel and these amazing items.
watching you clean up the spilled clay honestly was so satisfying I'm not sure why! these turned out so cute and the effects turned out so well! you can even do this with handless versions and put a hole on the bottom to put some Potter plants and cactus in them 😍🥰
You channel is a godsend. You somehow make the viewer feel at home. I really dig your creative vibe, too. Your work is marvelous. Thank you for posting these beautiful videos.
Thank you for taking us on this journey of exploration. The painted ones were as nice as I expected, the dots came out so clean. My absolute favorite is the carved and I hope you can do the layered technique in the future. My second favorite was the painterly stripe, it is so soft and textural without an actual surface texture. Truly a perfect mug. 💜
That is the perfect explanation! It’s textural but not surface textural 💓 thank you for your love! It’s always so scary being so open to exploration and also documenting it so thank you for being wonderful and enjoying the process with me!
I wish I could test hold these mugs but they look so cute! As @Mhorgin Steelfeather said, I'm curious what would happen if you painted the inside of the mould with Powdered Pigment + Water maybe with some straight powder pigment flecks?
I love your videos, you are an artist I and my 8 years old daughter and me always are amazed with what you do. Congratulations from Dominican Republic!
I love your Vegemite sweater. It's Australian to the core! :D The mugs are really really good! I like that you experiment and discover nice things! ^^ I personally like brighter colours so probably wouldn't like to have them for myself but my mom would love them!
Awh that is so nice of you! Absolutely! I definitely found that I would have liked a more vibrant lavender! But I also vibed with the end result still! Thank you so much!!
I've never done ceramics before, but I've watched this entire series. When I watch you apply the underglazes, I want to be there with you and experiment and do things like wax resists and dripping, spritzing or flicking water all over the underglaze to make it run and drip and blend. Or drip or flick underglazes over other colors. Or cut parts away...like those fruit mugs I wanted to cut the lattice pattern out, remove the handle and pop a candle in it after firing and glazing. Or morph two molds together...like a plate and a figurine to make a cake stand. I have no idea if the media would even work to do things like this, but it all looks like so much fun
Oh my gosh!! I think we would have a lot of fun together! So much of me wants to try all of these things but I also try and pace myself so I don’t burn out with all the ideas! I have wanted to play around with wax resist and also I got some latex stuff to play with recently too! I wish I could do more experimentation but I often don’t have time as UA-cam doesn’t pay that we’ll go support that process yet! But I am so happy to hear this as it has been encouraging to share some more experimentation in the series!!
I love them all and would love to own them all but I must say the flowering gum just knocked me to the floor it was so stunning. I'd actually love a full dinner set of dishes with that pattern. 😳🥰🥰🥰
I love everything about these mugs. The whole design - form and everything. I realy have no favourits. They're all brilliant and your best flower paintings so far.
I love the flowering gum painted ones, but I always love everything you paint with them! Also the spotted one was super cool, but they all turned out amazing!
Very attractive shape with practical uses. flowering gum is the best design for me but probably the most expensive in decorating time spent. A big seller I should think.
Saving up for your next shop opening! I need ALL THE FLOWERING GUM 😍 Set myself a quest to find beautiful fabric pieces with it on. Can’t wait until we can get to visit AUS again and the world isn’t too much on fire. Would love to be able to arrange to pick up pieces in studio!
I love these, particularly the painted flowering gum. Would it do anything if you dusted the inside of a mould with the powdered pigment and then poured the slip? Or dusted it on like makeup just after pulling the piece out of the mould? I’m not a pottery artist, so i have no idea if that would do anything. Just what came to mind. I’m loving this video series 😊
Oooh I never considered that! Maybe something to try! It might even be cool on a wet piece or a figurine as a form of dry brushing hmmm! I might have to keep that one in my mind to give it a go!
Thank you!!! I will do it when I can! Starting this UA-cam I didn’t realise how much time it takes to film and edit it all together! I have so many ideas for videos!
This makes me miss when I was in pottery at school lol I didn’t really get good at it until my last year I could have made so many cute things if I had bothered to watch videos online to get inspired and knew what things did what, I have horrible anxiety and couldn’t retain the information when I was actually in class. Now I’m plum out of luck don’t have supplies or even a kiln. But tons of ideas and inspiration.
Keen to see more of the mixing and carving technique like specifically if they clays are rainbow layers D: that would be amazing. I live in Brisbane, Queensland and just found your stuff I loooove it!
Oh my gosh! It’s on my to do list! I want to find a piece that is a plain mug or a jar or something of the sorts to try it on! So the first thing I find that is like that I’ll try it on!
I know this is an older video but I hope you see this...Happy accidents are the best...and I am going to have to check out your shop as I love the shape and size of this mug....hugs from Nova Scotia Canada

That sounds delightful
Wow, I was so excited to order something of yours, but everything is sold out. That’s sad for me but absolutely wonderful for you, I couldn’t be happier for you ❤️🔥
I love how positive you are, even when you have an accident like spilling the slip, you manage to turn it into a learning experience
I love the flowering gum, it’s beautiful how detailed you can get the flowers by layering the different colours of pink petals, 17:27
I love how differently the colours sit when they're painted inside the mould... The surface is absolutely smooth but you still have these dreamy brushstrokes and dots! ❤️
Exactly what I was thinking. I love them!
Delightful! The flowering gum looks so perfect on this shape
I totally agree! I love the way it swoops down!
Beautiful mugs. I love the spotted one! Great techniques to use for future... like you said, you can sprinkle the pigment onto the outside of a piece for a specific texture/color in your design.
I enjoy your videos more than anyone else on youtube ♥️
I totally love them all, especially the spotty one and the two flowering gum. So sweet! 🥰
Okay but your vegemite jumper is amazing
Deciding to make these a staple in your shop, brilliant idea. I can see a wonderful future for you.🌹🍷👏
I really enjoyed watching you experimenting with techniques and seeing the results! It's a good way to evolve the series. I'm so terrified of the end of these molds approaching 😫
Oh gosh! Thank you so much!!! Don’t worry, the series won’t end. I feel like it won’t! If anything I think it’s going to be harder to choose which ones to do 🤫
Dunken ceramics is where I am from. So crazy seeing a mold from my home town all the way in Australia 😱
I also live in the town where Duncan ceramics was located. I have this mold and love it! It's a pity Duncan was sold and is no longer here.
I find you whole mindset very inspiring. Fairy bread ceramics sound amazing!💜💙💛❤
I love how excited you are when they came out! They are really beautiful!
They came out wonderfully, it really is a versatile shape and I love the effect of the darker slip in the centre of the mould. I also love your Vegemite jumper!
Totally addicted to these videos and I'm in love with your tiny kiln!
Awh thank you! It’s such a little baby
Wow...so beautiful. The shape and size make them so versatile. You can leave off the handle and use it as a vase for flowers.
Right!? I thought the same thing! So gorgeous!
They all came out beautiful! The spotty dotty one is my favorite!!!
Love your mugs
I did pour in moulds ALL through the 1970’s and applied glazes so it’s fun watching you discover and create!
Loved that you tried so many different techniques and how you just had to trust the process until the end to know if it turned out
This was something I dreamed of doing when I was a kid. My mom even got me a kids pottery wheel where she made a turtle lol. Honestly finding your channel and seeing all your works makes my day and seeing you work is just amazing. Thank you for making this channel and these amazing items.
I absolutely love your flowering gum design! Those mugs are just dreamy!

The shape of the mug is really nice! These videos are so interesting to watch! I hope you get to teach groups in the future!!!
You channel is a godsend. You somehow make the viewer feel at home. I really dig your creative vibe, too. Your work is marvelous. Thank you for posting these beautiful videos.
These are STUNNING! Experiments lead to good things.

I can just imagine sipping streaming coffee from one of these gorgeous mugs. The brush stroke one is my favorite.
I wish I could test hold these mugs but they look so cute! As @Mhorgin Steelfeather said, I'm curious what would happen if you painted the inside of the mould with Powdered Pigment + Water maybe with some straight powder pigment flecks?
Those mugs are gorgeous!!! They WERE a surprise at the end!! 😁 Also that jumper is THE BEST!!
Right!? The colours just popped!! The jumper is straight from Vegemite!
There needs to be more comments talking about how incredible your Vegemite jumper is!! I love it
I love your videos, you are an artist I and my 8 years old daughter and me always are amazed with what you do. Congratulations from Dominican Republic!

This is amazing! It makes me want to try ceramics even more 😍 I love the colored flowers and the painterly ones!
Shelby you are making me want to take up slip casting and I haven't done pottery since primary school...
Wow! These mugs are so special. I love the colours you chose for this series.
Thank you!!! I wasn’t sure how they would come out but they are so beautiful together!
I've never done ceramics before, but I've watched this entire series. I love how these turned out. And they look like good sized mugs too.
And I love the Vegemite jumper!
They are such a good size 💓🌼
I love the painted flowering gum so much!
Thank you so much! That is an example of my ‘usual’ work before this series so I’m so happy you love it!
Possibly my fave video from this series, congrats on all the successful experiments!
“You don’t want a wonky handle” you definitely need to make that into a tshirt
These are definitely some of my favorites from this series!
It would be really cool to see how the mixed clay would come out if you did like an in the pot swirl like they do with soap making.
Absolutely! I am still learning how to work with stained slip in slip casting moulds so its very experimental at this stage still!
I liked how the little green and yellow pot swirled frogs came out in a different video.
I love the flowering gum painted ones, but I always love everything you paint with them! Also the spotted one was super cool, but they all turned out amazing!
The speckled and pink stripe ones are GORGEOUS!
There are no mistakes. Only happy little accidents ❤️. The paint brush stroke mugs are my favourite!
Yesss! Absolutely love this motto!!
I'm addicted to mugs, I just love them. These are really pretty.
I am always so excited when you do mugs! 😍

I really love them too! Perfect shaped mug.
I absolutely love the shape of this mug and the designs all turned out so great!
Very very cute. Love to watch you learn along with us.
It was so interesting! I definitely love the use of coloured slip!
Very attractive shape with practical uses. flowering gum is the best design for me but probably the most expensive in decorating time spent. A big seller I should think.
Yes definitely a lot longer of a process! Thank you!

Wouldn’t it be! I am so excited to try!!
I love these, particularly the painted flowering gum. Would it do anything if you dusted the inside of a mould with the powdered pigment and then poured the slip? Oooh I never considered that! Maybe something to try! It might even be cool on a wet piece or a figurine as a form of dry brushing hmmm! I might have to keep that one in my mind to give it a go!
Kind of like some resin art?
Love your work, and your use of the word "Groovy." I thought I was the only one using it anymore. Keep up the good work!
I LOVE how you experimented with these! They look SO GOOD
Thank you so much 💓
I always love when you come across a Duncan mold bc I'm from Fresno, CA!!! That mold traveled a long way. (:
I am in love with the mugs with the brush strokes!!
Wow, what lovely moulds, love moulds, we had to make our own, and trying to do slip ware, is trial and error, well done

So fancy looking! Great job!
This makes me miss when I was in pottery at school lol I didn’t really get good at it until my last year I could have made so many cute things if I had bothered to watch videos online to get inspired and knew what things did what, I have horrible anxiety and couldn’t retain the information when I was actually in class. I love dotted mug! So fun!
My favorite is “the happy accident” and “the splotchy mug” and of course you 🥰

Well done girl!!! Beautiful work!
Beautiful! Do you have a list of how to get started with this crafting/art?
They all turned out beautiful! Really love the accidental inside inlay
I didn’t even intend that so that was cool!
Those turned out so beautiful!
You could pop a figurine in the bottom, or just paint something on the inside as a surprise for when you finish your drink! Really great content!!
I love this series soooo much! I have to avoid Instagram until I check youtube each day because I want a surprise :D
Yes omg! So just so you know, UA-cam goes up at 8.30aest and insta/ tiktok is about an hour after that
