This sim is insane! Dude, you've saved yourself about $60K. Seriously, the next best thing to having your own aircraft. Your attention to detail on this flight is impressive and inspirational.
This guy is a real pilot. That's why the detail is there
Really impressed with your setup, flying, and commentary. Thanks for taking the time to do these! Making me really want to build one and get back to flying.
Thanks a lot for watching! You should go for it!
Hi there Josh, Greetings from the UK.
What a great job you have done on both your simulator and UA-cam channel.
I'm really looking forward to watching your other videos, thank you for making them available for us all to enjoy. I'm going to hit the subscribe button now.
All the best and keep safe.
Excellent video mate - Thank you for walking us through the check lists. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your videos. I just watched this all the way to the end and your setup, and flying skills, makes this a very real trainer.
Cheers.
Jim
Wow thats awesome, thanks so much for watching. It means a lot. Im still learning everyday so I might make a few mistakes here and there but im glad to be able to practice from home. Cheers!
Man, your setup is one of the best I've seen. I think you're my new aviation here...Can't wait to see more...
Thank you for sharing the efforts you have put into the simulator. And taking the time to edit the video. Most enjoyable to ride along with you.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you very much
Just found your channel and I’m blown away! Incredible job with this, absolutely amazing. Looking forward to seeing more.
That is a beautiful set up you made.
No annual required, low hourly operating cost, no bugs to clean off the windshield.
Very cool!
9:17...close to a collision! Awesome setup
Thanks for your work in setting up your flight sim and showing how realistic it is. I am 68 and always wanted to learn to fly and now you have given me a cheaper substitute that looks really good.
Very impressive. I am a retired pilot and just wanted to say this is probably one of the best times in the last 50 years for young people to go into aviation. I read an article about airline pay recently and it seems to be very good. With conservative money management you could easily retire as a multi-millionaire. Money is not incredibly important but it makes life a bit easier. Plus it is a very rewarding and interesting career.
Best Air Sim chanel by far really enjoyed the flight ✈️
Damn this is the COOLEST thing I have seen all year!
Thank you YT algorithm! Now I have some hope for my set-up and flight techniques. Love this channel.
I was glued to the screen from jump street!!! The realism is incredible, and this has me so excited! I've been out of flying for several years, but have been yearning to get back into it. If I could have a simulation setup like this in my house, I wouldn't have to bust my savings to either buy a plane or start renting again! I could do all my flying in my boxers with my dog by my side! Thanks for sharing this info! Your video has inspired me! Now I just have to find someone near me here in Phoenix who is capable of helping me get it all set up!
Only just stumbled on your channel a few days ago and loving the content. I'm not planning on building anything like a flight sim, but I'll eventually want to get into a vehicle sim setup (I enjoy bus sims), but all the same, it's almost therapeutic watching you fly and the setup is AMAZING.
Sir: You've done an incredible job of assembling this amazing simulator. I'd trust your daily improving flying skills in an emergency any day. It's fun to fly along as your co-pilot.
That is a fantastic setup! The immersion factor is incredible!!
Love your setup. Especially impressed with the transition from your forward to side views - seamless. Enjoyed the flight & video.
Impressive setup man. It reminds me of my flight training in both a Cessna 152 and 172. Training was out of Tulsa Intl Airport. I can remember the first time doing stall training getting motion sickness and having to open the upper vents to get some hot “fresh” air in the Oklahoma heat. Really cool thing about the planes that I flew was that they were equipped with some really nice avionics. Not typical with 152s for sure
Thank You for an excellent view of how both you and your sim perform !!!
Wishing you the very best in your flight training and travels afterwards !
(20+ yrs since last logged PIC time... was pvt w/instrum, sel working on com. Old L66 was home "base", now listed as AJO)
I think this is the 1st sim flight I actually watched completely through.
~subbed
Wow thanks for watching and the sub! Cheers
@@HomeSimPilot
I binge watched a few until I fell asleep last night.
Your production is very easy to watch.
Thanks for the free entertainment!
You are brilliant my friend.. as a long time lapsed glider pilot.. (and occasional P2 tug pilot).. I really enjoyed watching that. The whole concept of your presentation is spot on.... it was as real as it gets. Many Thanks, I will watch again.
fantastic - and with the incessant sound of the wind and engine - and the side views - that felt real - thumbs up
This is the best home made sim I’ve ever seen. Hats off to you sir.
Amazing job, your setup is incredible! I enjoyed watching this as much as real flight vlogs. Looking forward to setting up my own sim!
I found you a while ago. I'm looking into a sim system and yours is very well done. I have to give up flying because of vertigo. But I love flight. What you have done is my dream sim. Keep up the great videos. Its fun flying with you. Thanks happy flying
Thanks so much for time it takes you to do this. Great quality presentation. I'm just getting started with DCS World and I am actually learning to fly the P51-D Mustang. Long way from dogfighting, but I can actually consistently land it.
Amazing setup and love your in flight commentary. Nice blend of interior and exterior shots.
Enjoyed the flight with you. Thanks!
Man!!! You did a really good work on this set!!! Congrats man!!!!
Pretty dang amazing set up all I can say is WoW!!!
Loved the free ride. That was cool. Really cool.
WOW!! Congrats! Awesome sim.
Very well built my friend Love It !
Just found your site tonight. What a great simulator. Really enjoyed the flight with you.
This set-up is bad ass!
Really well done video with the multiple views and informative commentary. Also thanks for listing your equipment. I am just starting out taking some sim flight courses.
It's like an ASMR video......only cooler. The hum of the engine and your voice is very soothing. It's like a mental massage.
Bro, i thought my setup was awesome... but then is saw yours.... really impressive!!!
Cool !! Congrats !!
I swear the plane sounds like it has a bigger engine. This sim pit is awesome!
Wow, Nice flight, thanks for sharing your adventures - and thanks for letting us know about your setup - very realistic
Amazing set up and even better that you built it! Thanks for sharing. You have to be a certificated pilot with your flying know-how...say it is so!
Thanks a lot. You got that right! Im doing flight training now
Your set-up amazing and a dream set-up of mine. Good piloting skills and habits as well. Certainly subscribing!
Thanks for the sub! Thanks for watching. Cheers
Love your set-up and channel Josh - amazing. I'll be modeling my build after yours (like a lot of people I'm pretty sure). Couple flying observations - your downwind call was a little early - looked like you were still heading in the wrong direction when you called Right DW. And also, there is only one final (on a single runway), not a left or right. Blue Skies.
wow that is so impressive, good job , you seem like a really cool lad
Impressive! And this Cessna is actual plane where I had flying classes in Curitiba/Brazil at AEROCON School! PT-TUB (Tub from Tubarão / Shark) !
Awesome! Your framerate is butter smooth!
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing your passion for aviation. Recently, I have had the hots to buy a 172 and resume flying but between, the cost of the bird, annuals, BFR's, medicals, insurance, AV gas, hangar rental and don't get me started on the cost of an engine overhaul, the cost have persuaded me to consider, again, a flight sim. Your setup is so realistic that I think I'd be happy with holding onto my cash and put a lot less into a decent sim and enjoy the passion on a budget.
I hope you continue to make videos. One thing I'd like to see would be some IFR work and more on tricks with VOR's. I am decent using a VOR to navigate with but using 2 or more and knowing all that goes on with that would be a good arrangement.
BTW, I guess you know the long wire antenna on your 150 is for ADF... I don't hear much talk these days about using ADF navigation and MANY beacons are no longer active but if you can tune into a local AM broadcast station, it's not a bad way to get you close to your next airport..
Glenn, SC
Love your sim-build! Great videos!
Thanks so much. Glad you like them!
Damnnn bro! Are you sure you actually in your room. Take a bow bro!!!
you have great channel going on here. keep it up. I really love your set up.
Thank you so much!
GREAT looking setup!
Nice video bud. I used to be die hard simmer, times got hard but deff. getting back in ! A10 hotas and all. Thx
Boy you make it real bro, tell you something Sir, I was learning to fly and soloed twice in the pattern and some dual cross country flight and night cross country flight. Yeah you make sound and feel real. Home in the Covid 19 lock down wishing I had my sim (Microsoft flight simulator} don’t have them now they messed up, going to try to make a simple one again, would really really like one like yours Brother I really feeling it. know in the pattern LOL you gat it!
Very cool to watch mate...its nice to stumble upon something like this.
your setup and commentary is so good
Really enjoyed this video and your setup looks amazing. Well done and thanks for sharing 👍
Have only just found your channel but loving it so far. Really like your screen setup, awesome job. 👍👍😊
Nice sim! did good on CAT1 very impressed on your skills.
I really hope this will all be a smooth transition for your when you switch over to the new Microsoft Flight Sim (assuming you're going to get it), and by that I mean I hope it'll be easy for all your components to function the way the currently do on the new Flight Sim. Especially if you're coming from x-plane.
ms flight sim would suck if it didn't :D
I Also love how you play the sim with a roleplay style taking what your doing seriously keep it up my friend .... Ever think of playing DCS! Could use a good wingman !
Awesome setup sir, very immersive. I was surprised to see the PT-TUB skin, i flew this airplane in Brazil a couple of years ago as a student pilot, very cool to see it flying in the US 😂
Thanks for the ride!
i like this so much better than the vr. i think its better for training too becasue you can use your ipad for maps and change the radio with your hands, and for less of the price than a vr headset
your setup is really cool .great video flying and commentary .i'm thinking of learning to fly properly on the sim been watching vids on vor so i can find my way round lol .all the best from skegvegas uk
Enjoyed your presentation. Thanks for taking the time to do this. You've just helped me find a way to spend the savings I've been hiding from my wife.....
Sweet set up,,kind of what im shooting for! Nice flying!
Jody Laine Kelley Thanks for checking it out. Good luck with your set up!
Dude...so cool!
Nice flight capt🙂 i enjoy watching it
I like that PC you have. :-)
Impressive setup! Can wait to see what you will do with FS2020. Subbed
I happened upon this channel. That is sooooooooo freaking cool. talk about a grown up video game. Id be willing to bet you could get a heart attack using that thing. just amazing. Envy you dude.
Hey boss try overhead departure method for cross country flight. It’s easier to circle around with airport insight until you level at crushing altitude than direct course to your destination. In real life flying when I go cross country Flight with my college they prefer I do set heading departure which Is also another good departure procedure as long as you have nav logged planned out. Those two for VFR cross country departure will make things much easier.
Awesome!!!!
One recommendation, and perhaps check with an instructor to confirm (rather than listening to some clown on the internet, i.e. me): put the carb heat on before you get out of the green arc with your power. I was taught to always have the carb heat on when you're outside the green in the 150/152.
Awesome set up, great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
This is awesome!
Excellent video, good luck in all of your endeavors!!
I've flown into/out of Oceano - there used to be a great little seafood joint within walking distance of the runway. My experiences with flight sims is that I haven't flown one yet, at least with the one monitor that I use, that isn't as hard or harder than the real thing. For one reason is that you don't have real world sensory inputs - which in certain situations you can't always trust in real flying, especially in IMC.
If you can take off and land in a PC simulator consistently, you should be capable of real flying with appropriate time and instruction. One of the obvious differences is that some mistakes made in real world flying may cost you your life.
Good work Captain!
BADASSSSSS!
Just Subbed Bro! your setup is envious and I have seen your other video describing the setup and pricing!
Way to go doing something you truly enjoy!
I am not as involved as you are, but just dabble a bit and enjoy Flight simming since SubLogic ATP, and FS 4.0.
Recently I have been using XP11, but have now been using MSFS2020 for VFR and XP11 for IFR.
Both are great for what anyone wants to accomplish. Take care and safe flying if you decide to fly in real life again, Tom in NV
Hey man, I appreciate you taking the time to check out my vids!
Im using mostly xp11 in my cockpit but msfs is great and im looking forward to more updates. Thanks again for the support! 🛫
Thank You For The Lesson!
Beautiful setup.
Sweet setup
Lucky guy! 👍👍
Love the setup, I can no longer fly! Lost my medical. Looks good!
what happened mate?
@@Draion1989 I was injured on active duty, during desert storm! Blew half my lungs out and got a TBI. My whole aviation life came to a abrupt halt!😢
@@volador2828 sad to hear this! all the best for you!
@@Draion1989 Thanks! Its not all bad, the upside is I got a great wife and kids out if it! One door closes and another opens...
Your setup got me to start thinking about building my own! I live in Arizona and I can find some old fuselage and cut it up to.build a simulator.
I like your videos, keep it up...nice job!
R Coyote for sure family more important than anything
Thanks for making time for your build vids (Subscribed) Picked up one or two ideas for my sim build Regards. Mike from Scotland UK
absolutely brilliant
Thanks, nice ride.
In addition to the deserved praise in the comments, let me mention 2 critiques---
1) Your call to New Cuyama area traffic, alerting any fliers to your approaching aircraft, was quite late. You were on right base, the 1st call should have been at least 5 miles out And the distance you were from the airport when you said to us that "no traffic in sight" was far enough away to miss some traffic. You may have kept a good eye out while getting in the pattern, but since this is an instructional sim video, mention to your viewers that watching for traffic at a non-towered airport is constant.
2) At a non-towered airport that's really in the boonies like this, a fly-over is recommended. This is for animal-on-runway check, and to check the condition of the runway surface. I don't know how it is now, but 2 years ago (2018) this runway was unusable from heat-cracked asphalt-- broken chunks all over the place, and white X's painted at both ends to say runway closed. But not regulation sized X's-- they were small enough to make you really have to look. The owner doesn't bother to update the Supplemental Chart booklet (formerly called Airport Facilities Directory). It's literally the Wild West sometimes, non-towered airports are a crap shoot and require serious diligence.
Beautiful! Best regards sir!
I love your videos...
Damm wonderful young man, keep research bro and post more video, thanks
Nice video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome setup man! 👌😀
Garrett Thorn Thanks a lot! ✈️
Great build...those speakers really add a little umph to the flight experience!!! Congratulations!!!..happy flying!!!...Are you ready for Microsoft 2020 flight simulator?????..🐦 This looks like the wave of the future for serious flight simmers!!!...🐦
Excellent video to watch. It make miss being up there because it's been a while since been up in a Piper Cherokee.
