I was going to comment something similar. So refreshing to see this kind of genuine love, God bless them both. I hope I can catch you guys at House of Muay Thai next time 😊
The way your son looks at you when you're explaining the technique shows the respect that he has for his father, you are his Hero! Respect! BTW, the ankle cue is on point!
I live in Thailand and have been training Muay Thai for 3 years. My Kru (a Thai) is a very good teacher. However, he doesn't give detailed breakdown of the mechanics like you do. He just do the kick himself and ask you to follow and imitate him. For example, he would tell me to turn my hips when I kick but your little details of having the "hip face the ceiling" makes all the difference in awareness when you kick. I am not saying the Thais are not good teacher. it's just that they have been training Muay Thai since they were a kid and everything becomes instinctive and ingrained and they don't need to think about breaking down the mechanics. I actually learn more from the "little details" in your instructions which makes all the difference. Keep up the great work. I am a fan.
I feel the same way in regards to the brazilians who teach BJJ. Their English is not very good so it’s difficult for them to point out the little details well
I was about to say the same. I only watch Thai Kru teaching Muay Thai and also I'm Asian (country below Thailand) I go for classes here with a Thai Kru. But he taught me when I make mistake and correct my form. I love how Charles Johnson explain to his son. I was like ooooh....
I was mad frustrated with my kicks lately and this has been one of the most helpful ways to explain it. Just giving really clear ideas of what to aim with towards X. So helpful, thank you
I can appreciate the cues, they make all the difference. I’ve been noticing often in thai tutorials there is a lack of depth in the explanation. They have the technique locked down; it’s a matter of communication. Great video! 🙏
I'm from malaysia, and this is the best muaythai kick tutorial. I'm still learning and just knew that touching is essential to mark your distance before kicking. Thankss
Great attention to detail, kind of reminds me of the Soviet style boxing channel. I didn't think I'd get this much from a beginner kicking tutorial, especially since I trust my kicking power the most. Thank you.
I came across your channel watching Sitjaopho gym videos. I love the way you teach with such detail and thorough explanations as to why things are done. And your son is going to be an exceptional fighter. You got a new subscriber in me. Keep up the great work, coach 👊🏿🥊.
I am from Bangkok, Thailand. I saw Tito learnt with Tawanchai. I am Muay Femur and I know Tito is gonna be a promising fighter in the future. I hope he will keep the discipline, dedication and techniques. He will be an excellent Muay Femur.
@KMAAcademy2020 I saw your fight on Maxx Muay Thai, Ajarn Charles Johnson. I love the way you stayed technical. I saw your training with Sitjaopoh(ศิษย์เจ้าพ่อ) It is great that you teach all the techniques that you know to your son krub. Daniel Alamos, Tawanchai and more fighters that Tito can study with. When he is grown up, he is going to be untouchable krub. Have a nice day krub Ajarn Charles. ขอบคุณครับ (Khob Khun Krub) 🙏 Perhaps, Tito can learn how to switch hit from Ajarn Karuhat krub. Ajarn Karuhat is my second favourite fighter of all time behind Ajarn Samart Payakaroon.
this kid has a pro level kick already. which is really incredible. You only see this kind of technique in kids in Thailand. Also you seem like a good dad
I watched every minute of this and was very impressed, your way of “cutting” made me realize where I’ve been going wrong with my kicks, thank you for an awesome instructional video
1. feet shoulder width apart 2. front foot slightly out not straight forward or will hit elbow 3. look at target, arms (out the pocket) or body (in pocket), 4. step out show ankle to opponent, base leg bent a little, step, opposite arm back, turn body, turn hip (greater trochanter) towards (face) ceiling not wall. base heel towards opponent (if old hips, not necessary if have new hips) 5. hand can cut down or more out to side 6. need distance, long range 7. base leg arm drop, other arm cocked up elbow in front, spring off bent back leg, down arm come guard, cocked arm swing back, back to guard, legs balanced so can check kick or lean back 8. 9. barely touch bag for distance, longer the better, pause, arm fully extended, line in middle, finish how you start 10. learn to use proper distance, shuffling, get out of range, back in range, kick back to good guard 11. use fake kicks, teep, body 12. switch double keep 13. floating block to teep
I have really been enjoying this page lately I’ve been in this game of very long time 4 decades. There’s so many people out there teaching technique a lot of good a lot of bad. But I love his style of teaching very detailed, and he doesn’t just show the technique. He has the young man in front of him and he asks him questions And makes him explain what he’s doing why he’s doing it then has him perform it correctly. It’s great it’s not enough to tell you have to teach. Great techniques, great explanations, great details, and I love seeing the next generation coming up in our arts going to be very talented. If He chooses to be a fighter he has a great coach, guiding him and he’ll make an amazing instructor in the future, Much respect to both of you.
Jesus!! Tito’s kick is so beautiful! This is the video I have been waiting on! Do you have any tips that will protect the knee while kicking? I have had multiple surgeries in my left leg and if my kick is even remotely wrong it can cause some crazy pain.
Bro, I come to this channel because I love your relationship with Tito. I always hoped for a such father-son relationship with my dad, and now the goal is to provide it to my son. But to be honest, this video improved my kick already, THANK YOU! I can't come train with you ( due to location), but I am interested to buy your course. I just have a question, where can I contact you directly? All Love from Egypt and Africa.
1:42 I love how he is over-exaggerating the mechanics of the roundhouse it can really help beginners see the nuance a lot better. The kid kicks like a Thai too.
buzzy! I clicked on your video because ive literally been on the bag trying to drill my lead switch and rear kick! But its buzzy because I remember you from the tiger trials some years back! Your character was a dope way of showing people the diversity of the Muay Thai community globally! I was like "you could make a Afro-samurai type Anime but for Muay Thai with bros character haha". That aside... im going to use this drill man! Appreciate it highly! Just that peep into one drill, and this young mans sharp form speaks volumes to your training system and character as a coach and person. Awesome to watch! I train under Lolo Heimulli at Balmoral Lee Gar in Auckland New Zealand (Ray Sefo, Mark Hunt, Eugene Bareman, Jason Suttie etc.) and your principles feel natural with BLG's striking system. Salute bro! this is a great vid. ps. The 🌲made this video deep 😅🤣
The most important thing this kid needs is a big heart and a blazing fighting spirit. A fighter may have beautiful technique for muay thai, but if he has no heart he will never win.
Idk if I’m tripping but I’m pretty sure I watched you at the Tiger Muay Thai Tryouts. Regardless great videos, great technique both of y’all look sharp OSS!
I learn something new every video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and breaking it down in an easy to understand way. Plus I love the “boop” haha, keep it up !!
I don't really understand how to kick. Is it more a front kick with a turn of the hips at the end or does the kick come more from the side? It looks more as front kick with turning hips in your video I als aee tht one people are not stretching the foot to much. They make it like a low kick. Bu a ehe end here are many techniques and ost important is turning the hip

👊😎
Do you have anything on timing? How to time a counter?
This kid is Guna be special when he’s older beautiful technique and a great teacher
Shit he's better than me already absnd I've been training almost 20 years. I wish I had those new hips man, damn.
The instructor is a great competitor himself. He spent some time with Tiger Muay Thai in Thailand; so he's official.
Bro he’s technique is average for a kid training for more than a year or two…your just over exaggerating lmao
@@ismailh-dw4dh No it really isn't. I've been coaching MT for years and can tell you he's way better than 99.9% of kids his age.
@@clapdrix72 dude hes so good

Great breakdown! Coach Charles is used to teaching beginners at his academy so his teachings has to be more detailed yet practical 🙏🙏🙌

Phenomenal breakdown! Thank you! Stealing some of the coaching cues!
