  • This video follows up on the first outing where I provided my initial thoughts on the tent, in particular after a night of stormy weather.
On this occasion I filmed the erection of the tent, looking at how easy or not it was to put up, along with further commentary and update on the practical use of the tent, particularly after a further stormy session sleeping in it!
The tent was kindly provided to me by CAMPERLISTS whose prices seem to be competitive and can be found here:
    www.camperlist...
My first video simply looked round the tent and I provide an explanation as to what I wanted from a new tent and why I choose this one in particular.
    This can be seen here:

Details of the tent can be found here:

The campsite on this occasion was The Providence Inn, Yedingham, Malton, North Yorkshire and can be looked at here:

My bike is a modified Honda Cb500X for which there are plenty of videos on this channel.
I hope you find my video of the Naturehike Opalus 3 helpful and if you have any question just ask.
If you would like to support the channel please feel free to donate whatever you can afford, it will go towards the cost of producing the videos and every little helps.

Had this tent for 5 years now. Toured with it extensively around S.E. Asia on my Tracer GT. It's never let me down. In monsoon rains tropical storms and electrical storms.. Just wish Naturehike would provide a footprint that covers the porch area.. would be a nice touch. Top tip after a while the zips get a bet snaggy. Run some lip chap balm on the zippers brings them back to as new function.. Nice demo... Happy riding..

My mate has one and loves it…I’ve been thinking of a 700 (extra bike to the Honda) as I previously had an XSR700 and really liked the engine…just need to save the pennies!

Great video as usual Andrew, looks dead easy to put up so if Father Christmas is feeling generous then you never know.
I feel it’s the one to get as I too like the ‘ Bay Window ‘

How do you like the tent one year later? Are you still using it for motocamping? I am getting my CRF300L Rally set up for 3-5 day trips and the Opalus 3 is at the top of the list.

    • @thecampingbiker791
      @thecampingbiker791  Рік тому

I’ve sold it but only because I can’t keep everything I buy, although I’d like to 😂 It’s a great tent, but in the end I wanted a tunnel tent with less inner mesh and smaller for winter warmth, but pack size this is excellent and isn’t any bigger than the one I’ve bought to replace it. On reflection I might have been better with the Opalus 2 but the 3 had more headroom, so always a compromise.

    • @thecampingbiker791

Excellent value for money and good tent, would recommend it and camperlists website..others have bought from them successfully. I’ve subsequently sold the tent, but only because I have so many tents and continue to buy them for testing that some have to be turned over and in the end as a three man tent it was probably too big for my solo travel. Massive space though and they do have a two person version 👍🏻

    • @thecampingbiker791

I’ve got another of their tents, the Cloud Up2, which is exactly the same material and used that extensively over 2 years in all conditions without any problems but likewise would be interested in any long term reports. Just for info, there is a version of this tent in conventional nylon which is obviously slightly heavier but cheaper (It’s the orange version)

    • @texasbradley

@@thecampingbiker791 thanks for the info. I've heard small 1mm holes forming in the material on the naturehike so I started looking at the Vango series and I really like the Knoydart 300 but it's nearly impossible to get in the states. Its a shame because eu tent design is light years ahead of us design.
