    We got a big cookie with an edible image on it for the Super Bowl, and I was curious how they made it. We weren't sure at first if it was indeed edible, but found out it was. This is very cool. Thanks for posting this!

      If you reply to peoples comments you must hit "Reply" or it doesn't notify them of the reply. If you just comment normally like you do it just looks like your talking to yourself and gets confusing and no one knows who your replying to. You don't need to type @userName. When you hit "Reply" UA-cam automatically does that for you and notify's the receiver & puts the reply comment in the correct original commenters space.

    Icing sheets are thicker and come with a plastic backing which helps feeds them through the printer. Icing sheets also produce better quality prints. There is wafer paper that is made for edible printers, you can try it out and see if it works for you.

    Currently I'm using photoshop to lay everything out...I just filmed a 3 part series on edible image basics and it will be up shortly.

  • @Cookiescupcakesandcardio
    @Cookiescupcakesandcardio  12 років тому +2

    @lstanton212 There’s no dedicated software needed for printing these. You use the same software that you would if you were printing on normal paper. We use Adobe Photoshop for most of our layouts, but you can use whatever image editing or design program works best for you.

    it can be used with any printer that is solely used for edible products and you put the edible ink cartridges in place of the chemical ones.

  • @Cookiescupcakesandcardio
    @Cookiescupcakesandcardio  12 років тому +1

    You can just print multiple cupcake toppers to the size you want and cut them out or you can order icing sheets where they are already cut-out for you. You use any image layout program you want like Photoshop.

  • @Cookiescupcakesandcardio
    @Cookiescupcakesandcardio  12 років тому

    @Nathal2009 No, it doesnt have a CD or anything like that to help you out. Basically you have to teach yourself. When you need it to fit a cake, you just cut the image out with scissors or an exacto knife.

    Yes, the printers are the same as you buy from office supply stores. BUT … not all printers have edible ink cartridges available for them. For whatever brand of edible ink you want to buy, you need to go to their site and get a list of printers they support.

    Once it is on the buttercream, you can't remove the image...it's there to stay. So I have no idea if it "stains" it as it completely attaches to it.

  • @Cookiescupcakesandcardio

    I haven't tried them, so I can't advise you. Sorry. We use IcingImages for our icing sheets.

  • @Cookiescupcakesandcardio
    @Cookiescupcakesandcardio  12 років тому

    @gobigstanley1 The icing sheets are tasteless and have a slight vanilla smell. As far as I'm aware, the machines that print directly on cakes are for larger commercial uses and are expensive. If this is something that you are in the market for, you should contact one of their sales rep to get a demo to see if they fit your needs better.
