Last night my friends and i jammed out to all LENNON songs and his stuff to me is the best. He always has a message or a story and could write a song in his sleep.
This song was supposed to be a single by The Beatles, Lennon presented the song to the other members of the band and they reject it (along with "Cold Turkey" written in 1969). Lennon said about the song that he had the idea in the breakfast time, recorded it in the lunch and it was finished in the dinner time.
Lennon not only wrote the song in a day but did that performance too He said he wanted to do it in an instant hence the name Instant Karma I am a song writer and I take a bit to write a song like a months at times But I have knock them off in a day or so at time When John Wrote with Paul they could write songs in 3 hours Nice reaction Regards Bill
@@NickieReacts oh boy, well of you like that 80's vibe and look then you should check it out sometime. I actually like it better than the remake but the remake was solid. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
December 8th 1980 almost 40 years ago and still ranks as one of the shittiest days ever. I was watching Monday Night Football when Howard Cossell told viewers the tragic news. As for suggestions anything off Boston's debut album can't go wrong
He's talking about enlightenment and waking up from the dream. Listen to "Watching the Wheels Go By" an example of an enlightened being who has stepped off the "Karmic wheel".
The greatest John Lennon record is " Imagine ". If you ever watch Forest Gump you'll see Forest sitting on a couch next to John Lennon both being interviewed by Johnny Carson. and Forest gives John all the ideas for IMAGINE. The top PEACE record of ALL time. Enjoy it.
Afraid you were wrong about John writing it in an afternoon. It was more impressive. John woke up with the tune in his head on 27 January 1970, had the song written in an hour, and recorded it that night, with the single hitting the shops ten days later.
I'm still devistated. He lived just 40 years... and died 40 years ago. I tattooed "Imagine" in John's handwriting on my wrist. I will never forget. React to Isolation. Very timely today.
When I was 14 I went to a house party full of early to mid twenties people and got wrecked. The only thing I remember was asking the person controlling the music to play this song over and over again....eventually he did. And it brought me to earth in a very satisfying way. It was at that moment I realised that I knew more than many of the older people in the room.
This December, it will be forty years since an assassin murdered him in cold blood. After all these years, I'm still in shock and denial. I still miss John Lennon...
Nice reaction there, if you think John Lennon writing this in an afternoon is impressive. Then you ought to check out Oh, Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison, he wrote that in 45 minutes according to those that were with him.
The Lost Boys had a great soundtrack too. INXS and Jimmy Barnies with "Good Times" is one rockin' song. And of course The Lost Boys theme song "Cry Little Sister" by Gerard McMann.
Nice reaction I like it a lot. Can you react to A Day In The Life - The Beatles? It is their masterpiece, you will hear one the greatest songs of all times
@@alonsoquirosgranados7568 in 1967 I was 13 bought this LP. My dad was a violinist (cello too) I played the crescendo to him. He replayed it a half dozen times and said it was an amazing musical score. This from a man that had over 40+ years of being a violinist. He was amazed it was written by guys in their 20s
Never seen one of your videos... Wow, that introduction. And then listening to the song I'm thinking OMG there is no better match for this song. Thanks for the reaction. 😂
How did he write one great song in an afternoon? Because they wrote so many great songs, they could produce them faster than they could cut the record, resulting in 14 Billboard Top 40 hits ranked, in one week alone.
Songwriting: have something to say. Find tunes, not effects. Eventually, songwriters can write fiction (imagine a scene, write it out) but, first, find something of your own to say.
John Lennon dreams of a world that we dont live in now. If we can all be friends, open borders and all love but its not reality. hence his song Imagine. So to those of ya thinking John is a socialist or communist, you got it all wrong.
🎯 👁 *This is an anti-war anthem. The "Instant Karma" Lennon sings about is the instant negative consequences that will befall all those who advocate and proliferate war. They won't have to wait until the next life, their consequences will fall upon them instantly. Therefore, they need to "recognize the brother. Everyone you meet." Because "why on earth are we here? Surely, not to live in pain and fear."*

I never liked the production on this song. It's echoey, harsh and distant. It's sounds like a rough mix. Try :"John Lennon - Double Fantasy - 16 - Walking On Thin Ice " - The song he and his wife were working on the night he died. Very cool underrated track.
@@MrKeychange Yes but that track is basically about everything BUT the vocals. I think it would be just as good as an instrumental. It sounds cutting edge for 1980. Like he is entering into new wave determined to master and dominate it. In my opinion it was probably the best thing that came out of those sessions.

We can only imagine what amazing music Lennon would have created if had lived longer. The Lost Boys & Fright Night are the best 80's vampire movies.
I admit, I haven't seen the original Fright Night movie. I did see the remake though and really enjoyed it!
