    Hi, I have rated your recipe 5 ⭐'s. Your version out of many all over UA-cam is the closest to the original taste Cheeseburger "Hamburger Helper". You need to know that although the likes are low on this video, your version was a hit with my picky eaters, so much so they couldn't believe it was not from the box!!! Thank you so much for sharing. Of course I added more milk, cheese and pasta, but I stuck to your recipe👍🙏😌

      Thank you SO much, Rory! Your comment seriously made my day. My channel is pretty new but I'm working hard to grow it and can't tell you how much hearing this means to me.

    Hamburger helper reminds me of that old stone soup folktale ...some poor/hungry stranger tricks some villagers as they walk by when they see him cooking along side of the road. One by one they ask him what's he making and he replies stone soup. Then one offers an onion, another, a turnip, etc. until they make a huge pot of soup and they all share it. Well, the small box of hamburger helper comes with just noodles and a sauce packet. You have to provide the meat, the milk, the cheese; you may as well make it homemade...you'll probably have enough for seconds and it's tastier. Thanks for sharing your recipe. God Bless.

      I remember that story as button soup! Scrooge McDuck was hoarding resources and wouldn’t help his kin when they were hungry. Daisy started making button soup and convinced Scrooge to donate a variety of ingredients. He was reluctant at first but became more and more willing as the soup became more fragrant. At the end they all shared the soup ❤

    I've never had the boxed Hamburger Helper, but I can't imagine ever buying it with such a simple recipe! Nice work.

      Yeah, it's so easy to make it from scratch, it's like why bother buying the box?

    I just made the recipe for my fiancé and I. I halved the recipe (And then halved again the pepper cause I'm wimpy when it comes to spicy stuff) and instead of ground beef and cheddar cheese, I used ground chicken and mozzarella cheese (Pre shredded). Also, I put the cornstarch, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and sugar into a small bowl and mixed it before I added it to the meat so it would have an even coverage. Holy moly. It was SO good. I was loving every bite and so was my fiancé. It's definitely going into the list of dinners I'll make. Now I'll have a bigger selection to choose from.

    Oh, I always boiled pasta seperate and then mix together. Interesting to do it this way. I want to try it but I feel like I'll mess up somehow.

    This looks amazing! I grew up with hamburger helper,but refuse to buy the boxed kind now because of the high sodium and processed content.. but it was delicious! Thank you for sharing this, I'm going to try it this week with egg noodles and I'll let you know how it was😄 I did not see the measurements in the recipe link though, just the ingredients. Could you tell me the measurements?

    I've never thought to add pork instead of beef. I'm going to try that. I'll have to switch the milk for cashew or oatmilk.

    Would using flour instead of cornstarch affect the recipe?

    Looks nice. Though it needs more cheese.

    If I don't have cornstarch could I leave it out or substitute it with something else?

    • @HouseofNashEats
      @HouseofNashEats  2 роки тому

      You could use arrowroot powder as a cornstarch substitute. Flour could also work but has a tendency to clump more.

    Cheese sauce would be better then shredded cheese so that way it coats all the noodles but otherwise it sounds good
